Abstract

Bekannt sind Kühlverfahren, bei denen die zu kühlenden Produkte mit einem kryogenen Kühlmedium in einer Mischeinrichtung in direkten thermischen Kontakt gebracht werden. Als Kühlmedium kommt dabei insbesondere Kohlendioxidschnee oder tiefkalt verflüssigter Stickstoff oder eine Mischung aus Flüssigstickstoff und Kohlendioxidschnee zum Einsatz. Problematisch bei diesen Gegenständen ist der oft nur unzureichende Wärmeübertrag zwischen dem zu kühlenden Produkt und dem Kühlmedium, insbesondere bei sehr tiefen Temperaturen.
Erfindungsgemäß kommt als Kühlmedium tiefkalt verfestigter Stickstoff zum Einsatz, der bevorzugt aus Flüssigstickstoff (7)durch Absenkung des Drucks in einem mit Flüssigstickstoff und dem Produkt befüllten Druckbehälter (2) gewonnen wird.
Der Wärmeübergang zwischen Produkt und dem festen Stickstoff ist gegenüber dem Stand der Technik wesentlich höher, wodurch die Wirtschaftlichkeit des Kühlverfahrens verbessert wird.
