Bei einem Verschluss (1) für eine Schusswaffe, insbesondere ein Geradezug-Repetiergewehr, welcher einen Verschlusskasten (2) sowie eine darin geführte Verschlusshülse (3) aufweist sowie eine in dem Verschlusskasten (2) und der Verschlusshülse (3) geführte Sperrstange (4), welche Sperrstange einen einem Patronenlager zugewandten Verschlusskopf mit einem Kammerstängel (5) unter Zwischenschaltung eines Kettengliedes (6) verbindet, wobei das Kettenglied an der Sperrstange und dem Kammerstängel (5) gelenkig angelenkt ist und der Kammerstängel (5) zwischen einer Öffnungs- und einer Schließposition des Verschlusses (1) verschwenkbar ist, ist das Kettenglied (6) als gerades Kettenglied (6) ausgebildet, ist das Kettenglied (6) in einer wenigstens einen Drittelkreis überdeckenden, seitlichen Ausnehmung (10) des Kammerstängels (5) angelenkt und in einer Schließposition des Kammerstängels (5), fällt die Anlenkachse (7) des Kettenglieds (6) an dem Kammerstängel (5) im Wesentlichen mit der Längsachse (11) des Verschlusses zusammen.
