Claims (16)

  1. Riveting tool with
    1.1 a housing (20),
    1.2 a holder (2) arranged in the housing (20) for a rivet (1) to be set,
    1.3 arranged in the housing (20), a tensioning device (4) for applying tension to a rivet mandrel (7) of the rivet (1) arranged in the holder (2),
    1.4 an actuator for the tensioning device (4) as well as with
    1.5 a resilient element (19) contacting the tensioning device (4), characterised in that the resilient element (19) is arranged in such a way that when tension is applied it is elastically deformed, more particularly compressed and
    1.6 relaxes on tearing off of the rivet mandrel (7), in order to move a part of the tensioning device (4) with the rivet mandrel (7) in the direction of tensioning.
  2. Riveting tool according to claim 1 in which the tensioning device (4) surrounds a tube (9) extending in the axial direction in which the rivet mandrel (7) is guided.
  3. Riveting tool according to claim 1 or 2 in which the tensioning device (4), in region of its front end facing the holder (2) for the blind rivet (1) to be set, has a clamping sleeve (5) in which during tensioning forces the clamping jaws (8) radially against the rivet mandrel (7) and/or a release mechanism (11) which radially removes the clamping jaws (8) from the rivet mandrel (7) when the rivet mandrel (7) has been torn off.
  4. Riveting tool according to claim 3 in which the clamping sleeve (5) in the region of its front end has an inner cone (6) expanding in the direction of tensioning with which it is in contact with the outer side of the clamping jaws (8).
  5. Riveting tool according to claim 3 or 4 in which to actuate to the clamping jaws (8) in the axial direction a compression spring (12) is provided which in particular acts on the jaw closer (11) in contact with the clamping jaws (8).
  6. Riveting tool according to claim 5 in which the clamping jaws (8) and the jaw closer (11) are coordinated with regard to each other in such a way that actuation of the jaw closer (11) through the compression spring (12) not only brings about an axial actuation of the clamping jaws (8) against the clamping sleeve (5), but also a lesser actuation of the clamping jaws (8) axially outwards.
  7. Riveting tool according to any one of the preceding claims in which the resilient element (19) has a disk spring, more particularly a disk spring package, which is advantageously arranged in a housing (18) surrounding it.
  8. Riveting tool according to any one of the preceding claims with a rivet mandrel holder (25) arranged in the housing (20) for the torn-off rivet mandrels (7) of several set rivets.
  9. Riveting tool according to claim 8 with a device for introducing a torn-off rivet mandrel (7) that is being moved through the tube (9) into the rivet mandrel holder (25).
  10. Riveting tool according to any one of the preceding claims with an actuator (21) for setting the rivets, wherein the actuator (21) is arranged in such a way that it can be moved, more particularly pivoted or displaced away from the axial extension of the tube (9) extending through the tensioning device (4).
  11. Riveting tool according to any one of claims 8 and to 10 in combination with claim 2 in which an inlet into the rivet mandrel holder (25) can be moved into the axial extension of the pipe (9) extending through the tensioning device (4).
  12. Riveting tool according to any one of claims 8 to 11 with a deflection device for deflecting a torn-off rivet mandrel (7) that is moving through the tube (9) into the rivet mandrel holder (25), wherein the deflection device is movably arranged between the tube (9) and the actuator for the tensioning device (4).
  13. Method of setting a rivet with the following steps:
    13.1 a rivet mandrel (7) of a rivet is introduced into a riveting tool,
    13.2 tension is applied to the rivet mandrel (7) by way of a tensioning device (4) of the riveting tool, characterised in that
    13.3 at the same time as the tensioning, a resilient element (19) in contact with the tensioning element (4) is compressed,
    13.4 the tensioning is continued until the rivet mandrel (7) is torn off,
    13.5 after the rivet mandrel (7) has been torn off, a part of the tensioning device (4) is moved with the torn-off rivet mandrel (7) in the tensioning direction through relaxation of the resilient element (19).
  14. Method according to claim 13 in which after process step 13.5 the rivet mandrel (7) is released by the tensioning device (4).
  15. Method according to claim 13 or 14 in which after the process step in claim 14 the rivet mandrel (7) is moved into a rivet mandrel holder (25).
  16. Method according to any one of claims 13 - 15 in which the part of the tensioning device (4) that is moved in processing step 13.5, is slowed down after the process step of claim 15, more particularly by means of a stop.
