Abstract
Description
- The present Invention Patent Request of an unpublished "SYSTEM TO COLLECT KITCHEN OIL AND OLEAGINOUS SUBSTANCES FOR RECYCLING PURPOSES", especially a system comprised by ducts and corresponding inlets to feed the used kitchen oil, strategically placed in kitchens or service areas of multiple family buildings, sole family buildings, or even in commercial or industrial facilities which, according to a certain inclination, leads the material to a reservoir located in the ground floor, where the material is collected for recycling by compatible transportation, in a convenient frequency for such facilities.
- All productive activity exercised by human beings generates some kind of consequence /residues which unbalance the environment. In this sense, the Planet's sustainability depends on measures able of minimizing the damages on behalf of the natural resources. Recycling is one among many important measures to maintain the sustainability, having as implicit principle the collection of something which is no longer useful, converting it into something new and usable.
- The majority of the products and material used may be recycled, and it is not different with used kitchen oil and similar oleaginous substances, highly prejudicial to the echo system upon unsuitable discarding. Generally, kitchen oil is thrown in the sink, causing clogging of the piping, fat box and sewage system in general, causing the necessity of using defatting chemicals which are also prejudicial to the environment.
- Thus, means should be created to warehouse this raw-material in the generation source, for further processing/recycling.
- Currently, the collection of used kitchen oil in homes and commercial facilities is done in improvised manner with the assistance of small containers (Pet bottles, buckets, etc), from which the oily fluids are removed manually to greater containers, such as, for instance, drums, cans and the like, where it is warehoused up to the removal to the consumption place. In industrial environments improvisation is also latent. This task has the inconvenience of excessive handling of the oil in the several containers, which ends up by generating residues and dirt therein and around the place where the operation is done. Such inconvenience generates a restriction/resistance to the implementation of the selective collection of kitchen oil in the potential collection points.
- The state of art advances some patent documents directed to devices to facilitate the filling of reservoirs, such as, for instance,
PI 0704758-4 - Along the same line of the above document, we detected
PI 0803990-9 -
PI 0706172-2 - Being aware of the state of art, its gaps and inconveniences, the inventor, a person concerned with the environment, developed this system, where the used kitchen oil and other oleaginous material are poured inside a duct with anti-adhering internal coating, liable of being partially heated, through a receipt inlet equipped with cover and filtering screen to hold solid residues. Such inlets shall be preferably placed close to the place of consumption and use of the oil, that is, in kitchens or service areas, and will flow with gravity inside the duct located in external or internal vertical, specific for such use, to a separation/decanter chamber, and therefrom to a reservoir located in the ground floor for further dispatch in vehicle and transportation to the recycling unit. To avoid formation of negative pressure, the duct/ reservoir are equipped with a gas exhaust system.
- As an alternative, the oil conduction piping may be extended to the external area of the consumption place, that is, external to the building areas, whether public and/or collective, such as condominiums of house facilities and industrial poles and other, with the purpose of directing the used oil to specific collection points. In such version, it would not be necessary to conduct punctual collection in the multiple Family buildings, and it will become more embracing. Illustratively, as per what is explained above, the system may be applied to any industry generating oleaginous substances, such as, for instance, the food industry, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and other.
-
- ➢ Easy routine of suitable discarding, since the oil will go directly from the pan to the system described, without the trouble of handling containers;
- ➢ Scale warehousing - especially when the system is applied in buildings and condominiums, also causing scale savings, which will allow for the logistics to send the oil for recycling;
- ➢ Reduced system maintenance - due to the fact that only the heading of the duct, internally lined, avoids the clogging of fat layers, added to the use of the national resources (gravity and sun incidence), in addition to the infrastructure related to the buildings, such as hot water piping, sun heaters and other, generating savings and practicality in the operation of the system;
- ➢ Possibility of extension or branching to specific collection points external to the buildings, optimizing the collection logistics;
- ➢ Expansion for application in industries generating oleaginous residues;
- ➢ Low installation and maintenance cost;
- ➢ Ecologic/commercial appeal to the building having the system installed.
- In sequence, we explain the innovation in relation to the attached drawings, which are an illustrative but not limitative representation.

- More specifically, the claimed system is comprised of ducts (1) internally lined with anti-adhering material (M), as well as all components having direct contact with the oil or the like, which, added to the dedicated heating closed to a hot water duct (6) or resistance (R) in the oil flow line (O) prevents any possibility of solidification/clogging inside thereof. Thus, such ducts (1) are installed in internal or external vertical (5) of the buildings, having as point of origin the inlets (6B) with the corresponding covers and solid residue filters, located in the several product consumption points, whether inside sinks or tanks (7) or even in walls (8) close thereto, both in kitchens and in service areas (9). The referred ducts (1) have as their destination point the inferior elevated reservoir (2) or underground reservoir (3), each with its chamber (10) for contention of the excess volume of oil and exhaust (11) for gases, which avoids the generation of negative pressure and consequent stoppage of the oil flow and production of bad odor. The reservoir line (4) also has a decanter chamber (C) operating as a fat box, for the purpose of separating the oil (O) and oleaginous substances from the water and other less dense fluids, being a manner of rendering the reservoir action (4) more effective, thus receiving the product to be recycled with lower tenor of water.
- For the purpose of better conducting the residues in the internal walls of the ducts (1) due to the solidification of the oleaginous material, under a certain temperature, the option was created to heat part or the totality of the duct (1) and will be accompanied, from the inlet to the main vertical by the hot water piping (6) of the building, being also able to use other forms of heating, such as, for instance, electric resistances (R) of automatic or temporized activation. On its side, the ducts (1) of the external vertical shall be painted in dark color and in material which is a good heat conductor, so as to better use the sun power, that is, the heating done by natural source. In the case of external pipes, the buildings shall have some kind of heating for the same purpose of rendering the oil more fluid and avoiding its solidification.
- Since the warehousing is to be done in reservoirs (2 or 3), these shall be built so as to retain heat, for liquefaction of the solid layers formed in their walls, due to the cooling of the oleaginous material. For such purpose, such reservoirs (2 or 3) shall be painted in dark color and applied into metals which are good heat conductors, if not in the full reservoir, at least on its top, Always choosing places where the light is longer, or places close to other unnatural heat sources, such as, for instance, hot water piping.
- The elevated reservoir (2) shall be above the street level, being its base (12) located in a quota above the shipping line (13) of the vehicle (4) carrying the type of tank or other using the reservoir for transportation, in such a way that, from such base (12) there derives a retractile piping (14) which allows its arrival to the opening (15) of the cargo compartment. This format meets the requirements of residential/commercial units which pouring inlets have sufficient elevation for the oil flow to occur by gravity.
- Since the underground reservoir (3) located below the sidewalk (16) in the public streets with access in the street itself, presents itself as a compartment (17) containing a refill (18) which, when completed is collected by a winch carried by a specific vehicle (4) which, when collecting the full refill already leaves another empty refill. This format meets the requirements of horizontal constructions, in which pouring inlets (6B) there are small elevations in relation to the reservoir (3). Therefore, the external reservoir of the building does not require vehicle entrance.
- In respect of the oil level in the reservoir, it will have a buoy (19) indicating the volume of internal fluid, held by a rod (20) with point marked by an enhanced color, rising to a level on the cover (21) of the reservoir for its view to indicate its stocking. The level alert may also present other forms of drive, such as electric signal, light signal or sound, or electronic by means of software issuing messages through the web, aiming at notifying the person in charge of the collection logistics.
- With the same inventive concept claimed, the system is liable of application in the general industry, essentially those which generate oleaginous residues, such as, for instance, the food, petrochemical, pharmaceutical industry, among other.
