Description

BOX-LIKE STRUCTURE FOR ELECTRIC CENTER
The invention relates to a box-like structure for an electric center consisting of modular, cellular spaces, which box-like structure for an electric center includes a modularly dimensioned base structure, vertical profiles and a roof structure fastenable to it, intermediate plates connecting the vertical profiles with the base structure and the roof structure and beams supporting the roof structure, to the assembly of which casing sections, doors and/or covers, side plates and back plates of the box-like structure, panels of electrical devices and fastening elements of conductor rails are fastenable. Electric center box structures are utilised for fastening (live) electric components within the electric centers and, additionally, for protecting them from external impurities, such as humidity and dust, and impacts coming from outside the device. The box-like structure is also used for protecting persons working outside the structure from electric shocks and burns. Recent box-like structures for an electric center usually include an adapter plate pair or profiles, which have been fixedly fastened in place. Such box-like structures for an electric center cannot be altered or modified in any way when required.
There exist some modular center structures having modifiable spaces, but they include numerous components and these arrangements are complex and difficult to modify.
Instead of profiles, conventional box-like structures for an electric center use plates and even two plate structures screwed against each other, on the folded edges of which the panels are fastened. Such an arrangement is expensive and the double-plate structure incurs unnecessary material costs. Furthermore, in existing structures which utilise closed plates instead of profiles, pressure cannot spread into a wider area within the box-like structure in a short- circuit situation, whereby short circuits can then cause damages to the box walls, doors and covers which can be hazardous for persons.
An object of the invention is to provide a modular box-like structure for an electric center, which eliminates disadvantages related to prior-art electric center structures. A particular object of the invention is to introduce an electric center structure where the depth position of panels fastened to profiles can be adjusted and the use of space limited within the box can be optimised according to requirements. The object of the invention is achieved with a modular box-like structure for an electric center, which is characterised by what is presented in the claims.
The modular box-like structure for an electric center according to the invention is characterised by that the vertical profiles incorporated in the electric center box structure are fastened to the structure rotatably for 180 degrees when seen from the top. Then, the depth position of the panels fastened to the profiles can be adjusted. Rotating the profiles provides extra room for the space requiring extra depth from the space having no equivalent depth requirement. The rotation of the profile and the dimensioning of the profile enable optimising the space utilisation limited within the box. Furthermore, the fastening of devices, panels and casing- structure back plates can utilise one and the same profile, which can be rotated in its vertical direction, whereby the modular structure in a way includes additional modularity.
Advantages of the invention are the more extensive modifiability of the electric center structure and its installation and conductor rail spaces compared to prior- art solutions and, still, the requirement of fewer components, the adjustability of the mutual areas of spaces divided by the profiles and the possibility of having either an open or a closed structure in a desired way for the interior space. There is a specific need for these properties of the electric centers, because sometimes in cases of emergency the explosion pressure caused by a short circuit causes considerable damages. Compared to conventional center structures, the structure according to the invention can, due to its inner openness and/or closing possibility of the space between the profiles, guide e.g. pressure caused by a short circuit to discharge within the whole box-like structure or to a space of desired location and size.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the electric center box structure includes a panel, which is fastenable at least on one side of the vertical profile.
It is possible to make perforations on all sides of the vertical profile, whereby e.g. the panels of a center to be furbished two-sidedly can be fastened on different sides of the same profile. In principle, all four sides of the profile can be utilised for fastening panels and for fastening conductor rail fasteners. The panels can be installed either for the whole distance in the height direction on one or both sides of the profile or part on one side and part on the other side. In the structure according to the invention, the spaces between the panels can be open or there is an adapter plate structure only where there is a need to fasten rails.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the structure includes vertical profiles of the same shape and the same length at module extension points in both the length and depth direction. Using profiles of the same shape and length within the structure at all module extension points in the length and depth direction creates a possibility of mass production and, through this, of smaller material and work costs. In a fourth advantageous embodiment of the invention, the structure includes vertical profiles of different lengths in the length and depth direction. Using profiles of different lengths in the structure creates a possibility for wide adjustability between spaces divided by the profile.
The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings in which
Fig. 1 shows an oblique side view of a box-like structure for an electric center according to the invention,
Fig. 2 shows an oblique side view of a two-sided interior structure of a box-like structure for an electric center, Figs. 3 and 4 show an oblique side view of the number of two-sided profiles of two box-like structures for an electric center,
Fig. 5 shows a top view of the principle of installing a panel on both sides of a vertical profile, and
Fig. 6 shows a top view of rotating a vertical profile. A modular, cellular box-like structure for an electric center 1 according to Figs. 1-5 includes a modularly dimensioned base structure 3, vertical profiles 7 on the edges and vertical profiles 9 in the middle of the structure fastenable to it and a roof structure 2 fastened at the upper end of the vertical profiles. The vertical profiles 7, 9, the base structure 3 and the roof structure 2 are connected by intermediate plates 5 and the roof structure is supported by beams 8. To the assembly formed by these, casing parts, doors and/or covers 12, side plates 6 and back plates of the box-like structure, panels 4 of the electrical devices and fastening elements 11 of conductor rails are fastenable. The vertical profiles 9 are fastened to the structure rotatably for 180 degrees when seen from the top.
By the number and rotation of the vertical profiles 9, it is possible to adjust the quantity of depth-directional, modular spaces of the box-like structure, the depths between installation spaces and the total depth of the box-like structure. The vertical profiles 9 separate the spaces within the structure from each other. The fastening elements of the conductor rails are fastened to the vertical profiles.
It is possible to construct box-like structures for an electric center for various purposes of the parts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11 incorporated in the electric center box structure. The structure can be e.g., in the longitudinal axial direction, a two-sided symmetrical or one-sided asymmetrical box-like structure or, in the longitudinal direction, one symmetrical and/or asymmetrical at a desired point. Furthermore, the spaces divided by the profiles in the longitudinal direction of the box-like structure for an electric center can be of the same length or of different lengths on different sides of the symmetry axis of the box-like structure.
According to Fig. 5, the panel 3 is fastenable between the vertical profiles 9 on the desired side of the vertical profile. Thus, it is possible to adjust the position of the panel. According to Fig. 6, the vertical profile is detachable from the base structure, after which it is rotatable for 180 degrees and re-fastenable in place. The invention is not limited to the described advantageous embodiments, but it can vary within the scope of the inventive idea presented in the claims.
