Description

  • The invention relates to a build-in reservoir for an installation for flush water supply, such as for instance a flush basin or toilet according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a build-in reservoir is often applied in toilet spaces. Such a build-in reservoir is arranged against a wall of the toilet space, after which a pre-wall is usually placed in front of the build-in reservoir. The frame, which is often a tubular frame, here provides the pre-wall with strength and mounting options.
  • It is also possible for the build-in reservoir to be embodied as building block, whereby a pre-wall can be omitted. The reservoir is arranged here in a block of foam, such as for instance expanded polystyrene (EPS), and the block is mounted on the wall using a number of brackets. In such a case the brackets and the block of foam are seen as frame.
  • Build-in reservoirs are also known wherein the frame is formed by the housing itself. In such build-in reservoirs the housing is made of polyurethane foam, which has sufficient strength to absorb forces.
  • A horizontal wall part is often arranged on top of the reservoir, so forming a shelf surface in the toilet space.
  • Such a known build-in reservoir is provided with an inspection opening. This inspection opening can be provided on the front side of the reservoir or on the upper surface. Depending on where the inspection opening is provided, an opening is provided in the pre-wall or the horizontal wall part to enable access to be gained to the inspection opening. The opening in the wall part is then covered with a plate which also functions as operating means for the flushing mechanism in the reservoir.
  • EP 1277891 discloses a built-in reservoir according to the preamble of claim 1 and describes a container for flush water for a build-in reservoir. This container has an opening on the top side which extends in both the upper surface and the front surface of the container. A sealing plate is arranged on one surface of the opening and a duct is arranged on the other surface of the opening, which duct serves as construction aid and moreover provides access to the container, for instance for inspection. It is thus possible to configure the container according to this publication for a front operating means or a shelf operating means.
  • Following correct configuration the container can be arranged in a frame and subsequently built in, wherein either the upper surface of the container is then covered with for instance plasterboard covered with tiles, or the front surface of the container is covered. The remaining opening then serves as inspection opening and is covered by an operating plate.
  • There is however a trend in build-in reservoirs toward reducing the dimensions of this operating plate. The drawback is however that the access to the inspection opening is thereby also reduced. Inspection and maintenance of the reservoir is hereby made more difficult.
  • In addition, a container with for instance a cleaning liquid can be arranged in the build-in reservoir. When the dimensions of the inspection opening are reduced, replacing the container with cleaning liquid can however be made more difficult.
  • It is now an object of the invention to reduce or even obviate the above stated drawbacks.
  • This object is achieved with a build-in reservoir according to claim 1. Because the opening is arranged in the front surface as well as in the upper surface, access can be gained to the build-in reservoir in a diagonal direction. A further advantage is that the water level in the reservoir can be higher, since the opening on the front side of the reservoir is smaller in relation to conventional build-in reservoirs with an inspection opening on both the front side and top side.
  • In an embodiment of the build-in reservoir according to the invention a float valve is arranged in the water inlet.
  • The build-in reservoir according to the invention comprises a flushing mechanism for closing the water outlet and allowing the reservoir to empty via the water outlet as desired.
  • In a preferred embodiment of the invention the frame is a tubular frame enclosing the reservoir, wherein the inspection opening is left clear. Using a tubular frame a relatively light and strong frame is obtained. It will be self-evident here to arrange the tubes in any case partially along the periphery of the reservoir. According to the invention however, allowance is made here for the inspection opening in the reservoir.
  • In another preferred embodiment of the build-in reservoir according to the invention a removable closing part is arranged in the inspection opening. This removable closing part can be box-like. The removable closing part can for instance be a design object, whereby appearance and functionality are combined.
  • The invention further relates to a sanitary space, such as a toilet space, comprising:
    • a floor;
    • upright walls along the periphery of the floor;
    • a pre-wall arranged in front of a wall, wherein a secondary space is formed between the wall and the pre-wall;
    • an installation for flush water supply, such as for instance a flush basin or a toilet bowl, arranged close to or against the pre-wall;
    • a build-in reservoir according to the invention placed in the secondary space;
    wherein a horizontal wall part is arranged above the build-in reservoir, which wall part extends between the pre-wall and the upright wall; and
    wherein a shared opening is arranged in both the pre-wall and the horizontal wall part and provides access to the inspection opening of the build-in reservoir.
  • An object is preferably arranged removably in the shared opening and the inspection opening. The removable object can be a box-like part.
  • With this embodiment according to the invention a sanitary space is provided having therein a build-in reservoir in a shelf embodiment.
  • In another embodiment of the sanitary space according to the invention the horizontal wall part is formed by a bottom surface of a box-like part arranged in the pre-wall.
  • These and other features of the invention are further elucidated with reference to the accompanying drawings.
    • Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a prior art build-in reservoir.
    • Figure 2 shows a perspective view of a first embodiment of a build-in reservoir according to the invention.
    • Figure 3 shows a detail of the build-in reservoir according to figure 2.
    • Figure 4 shows an embodiment of a toilet space according to the invention.
  • Figure 1 shows a prior art build-in reservoir 1. This build-in reservoir 1 has a frame 2 in which a container 3 for flush water is arranged. Provided on the underside of container 3 is a water outlet 4 which guides the water from container 2 via opening 5 to for instance a toilet bowl, which toilet bowl can be arranged on threaded ends 6. Further provided in frame 2 is an outlet pipe 7, likewise for connecting to for instance a toilet bowl.
  • Provided under frame 2 are two telescopic legs 8 with which the height of frame 2 can be adjusted. On the top side of frame 2 is provided a transverse tube 9 which is arranged along the top side of container 3.
  • An inspection opening 10 is arranged in the front side of container 3. A pin 12 with which a flushing mechanism arranged in container 3 can be operated further protrudes from this inspection opening 11.
  • Figure 2 shows a first embodiment of a build-in reservoir 20 according to the invention. This build-in reservoir 20 has two side frame parts 21, 22 mutually connected by means of transverse connections 23, 24, 25. Arranged in frame 21-25 is a container 26 which is provided on the underside with a water outlet 27. An outlet pipe 28 is further provided in frame 21-25.
  • Container 26 has an inspection opening 29 extending in both the front surface and the upper surface of container 26. A pin 30 with which a flushing mechanism can be operated is further provided directly below inspection opening 29.
  • Because inspection opening 29 is arranged on the top side of container 26, container 26 can be arranged higher in frame 21. Because inspection opening 29 is situated higher in container 26 compared to a prior art reservoir 1, the water level in container 26 can be considerably higher while the frame height remains the same and there is similar access via the inspection opening, whereby a more powerful flushing is obtained.
  • A part of reservoir 20 of figure 2 is shown from above in figure 3. As is apparent from this figure, container 26 has a front side 31 and a top side 32. Inspection opening 29 is arranged in both front side 31 and top side 32. Because transverse connection 23 extends below inspection opening 29 between side frame parts 21, 22, inspection opening 29 remains wholly accessible.
  • An operating pin 30 which can operate a flushing mechanism 33 is provided directly below inspection opening 29.
  • A removable tray-like part 34 which covers inspection opening 29 can further be placed in inspection opening 29.
  • Figure 4 shows an embodiment of a toilet space 40. This toilet space 40 has a floor 41 with walls 42, 43 placed along the periphery of floor 41. Placed in front of wall 43 is a pre-wall 44 which has a horizontal wall part 45 on the top side. Pre-wall 44, wall part 45 and wall 43 form a closed space in which is placed a build-in reservoir 20 according to the invention.
  • Provided in pre-wall 44 and horizontal wall part 45 is an opening 46 which provides access to inspection opening 29 of build-in reservoir 20. In order to close this opening 46 a design object or a storage box 47 is placed in opening 46.
  • An operating button 48 with which operating pin 30 of build-in reservoir 20 can be operated is placed directly below opening 46.
  • Finally, a toilet bowl 49 connected to build-in reservoir 20 (not shown) is arranged against pre-wall 44.
