figure lib is a partly broken longitudinal section of the device of figure 11a,·
figure 12 schematically shows a further embodiment of the adhesive throwing device, wherein the plate is provided with a recovery thread.
With reference to the figures, there is shown an adhesive throwing device for the application - from a distance - of an adhesive on a target surface 100, indicated in its entirety with 10, and comprising, according to a minimum configuration, a tubular barrel 12, a thrusting plate 13 for an adhesive 11, the adhesive 11 and linear propulsion means 14 for ejecting the thrusting plate 13 bearing the adhesive 11.
The tubular barrel 12 has a longitudinal axis 15 and an outlet mouth 16 at an end.
The thrusting plate 13 is contained inside the tubular barrel 12 and is capable of translating along the axis 15 thereof in the direction of the outlet mouth 16 and outside with respect thereto.
The thrusting plate 13 has a flat front surface orthogonal to the axis 15 of the tubular barrel 12 for supporting the adhesive 11 to be thrown and a rear surface which can be engaged with the linear propulsion means 14 for receiving the thrust required for ejection from tubular barrel 12. The thrusting plate 13, on which the adhesive 11 lies actually accompanies the same in the trajectory thereof from the outlet mouth 16 of the tubular barrel
12 to the target surface 100 on which the adhesive is intended to be applied. The impact of the thrusting plate 13 against the target surface 100 actually presses the adhesive 11 against the same to facilitate adhesion thereof.
The target surface 100, on which the adhesive is made to adhere, can be of any type and shape, for example also a curved wall made of any material.
The thrusting plate 13 and the adhesive 11, along the whole way until the target surface 100 is reached, substantially remain in the initial position acquired inside the tubular barrel 12, i.e. the thrusting plate
13 remains with the flat front surface orthogonal to the throwing direction.
The linear propulsion means 14 comprise, according to a possible embodiment, a thruster 17 and an actuator 18, schematized with a double arrow in figure 1, which operates between the tubular barrel 12 and the thruster
17.
The thruster 17, due to the action of the actuator
18 is movable linearly inside the tubular barrel 12 from a loading position and a release position of the thrusting plate 13, but preferably it does not project from the outlet mouth 16, as schematized in figures 2a- 2e as well as 3a-3e, which respectively represent the sequence of throwing the adhesive 11 with the tubular barrel 12 perpendicular or oblique to the target surface 100.
The thrusting plate 13 bearing the adhesive 11 is accompanied by the linear propulsion means 14 along the direction 15 defined by the axis of the tubular barrel 12 up to the exit from the mouth 16 of the tubular barrel 12. Outside the tubular barrel 12, the thrusting plate 13 bearing the adhesive 11 proceeds the travel along substantially the same direction 15 until it impacts against the target surface 100. The adhesive 11, pressed by the thrusting plate 13, remains adherent to the target surface 100 while the thrusting plate 13 falls due to gravity.
According to a first embodiment of the throwing device 10 according to the invention, shown for example in figures 4 and 6, the actuator 18, which operates between the tubular barrel 12 and the thruster 17, is housed inside the tubular barrel 12 between a rear wall 22 of the tubular barrel and the thruster 17, which is slidably coupled with the tubular barrel 12 for a translation in the longitudinal direction, for example by means of a shape coupling with the section of the tubular barrel. The actuator 18 can, for example, have an end integral with a fixed point of the tubular barrel 12 and a movable end integral with a thruster 17.
The actuator 18, which is schematised with a helical spring, could also for example be a piston or other means adapted to move the thruster 17.
According to a further embodiment (not shown) , the actuator 18 could also be constituted by compressed air or gas, introduced between the thruster 17 and the rear wall 22 of the tubular barrel 12. In this case the tubular barrel 12 could also for example be provided airtight in the rear portion and in the section travelled by the thruster 17 in the movement thereof between the loading position and the release position of the thrusting plate 13.
The actuator 18, constituted by compressed air or gas, also operates between the tubular barrel 12 and the thruster 17.
According to a different simplified embodiment of the adhesive throwing device 10 according to the invention, the linear propulsion means 14 are directly constituted by compressed air or gas, which operates between the tubular barrel 12 and the thrusting plate 13, without requiring the interposition of a thruster 17.
The tubular barrel 12, according to what is shown solely by way of example in figure 4, can also be provided with a handlegrip 23.
The tubular barrel 12 can also bear a slit 24 transverse with respect to the axis 15 for the insertion of plates 13 associated to adhesives 11.
Temporary holding means 28 of the thrusting plate
13 bearing the adhesive 11, which maintain them in vertical position inside the tubular barrel 12 regardless of the position acquired, are prearranged inside the tubular barrel 12 and in particular near the slit 24 slightly downstream thereof in the throwing direction .
The temporary holding means, according to some exemplifying and non-limiting embodiments shown in figures 7 and 8, can be constituted by at least one flexible projection, or by a flexible annular crown provided with notches 29.
The temporary holding means 28 could also be provided through retractable elements (not shown) .
A replaceable loader 25 for automatically supplying adhesives 11 or adhesives 11 associated to the relative thrusting plate 13, for example such as those shown schematically in figure 5, can also be applied to the tubular barrel 12 at the slit 2 .
The replaceable loader 25 may also comprise means for removing a film for sealing the adhesives contained therein, or means for applying a layer of adhesive agent for preparing the adhesive for throwing (not shown) .
The front flat surface of the thrusting plate 13 has to constitute a support for at least part of the adhesive 11 and it can be, according to the invention, also a non-continuous surface, i.e. bearing holes or slits (figures 9a - 9c) .
The thrusting plate 13 comprises, for example, a weighted central portion 26, projecting at the rear part, in order to be more balanced in the trajectory thereof outside the tubular barrel 12, as well as a flexible outer annular crown 27, for example provided with notches, for better adaptation to the target surface 100 on which it is required to press the adhesive 11.
The thrusting plate 13, if provided flexible, for example made of deformable plastic, accompanies the adhesive in particular when the impact does not occur along a trajectory orthogonal to the target surface 100, for example when the throwing occurs with the oblique barrel as shown in figures 3a - 3e.
Alternatively, for use outdoors, the thrusting plate 13 is preferably made of biodegradable compressed earth. After transferring the adhesive onto the target surface, the thrusting plate shatters due to the impact against such surface or dropping to the ground.
The tubular barrel 12, which has a constant section along the axis 15, can have a circular cross-section or a square cross-section or have any other shape.
According to a first configuration, the tubular barrel 12 shall for example have a circular cross - section, and the thrusting plate 13 and the adhesive 11 shall be shaped similarly, i.e. a substantially complementary shape, so that the thrusting plate 13 adheres to the internal walls of the barrel 12 during the travel thereof therein. This contributes to stabilising the trajectory of the thrusting plate 13 bearing the adhesive 11 outside the barrel.
It is however possible, according to the invention, to provide the tubular barrel 12, the thrusting plate 13 and the adhesive 11 shaped differently, for example as schematically shown in figures 10a and 10b. In this alternative configuration for stabilizing the trajectory of the thrusting plate 13 bearing the adhesive 11 outside the tubular barrel 12, the thrusting plate 13 has a plurality of perimeter support points on the internal walls of the tubular barrel 12, four support points in the represented example.
It is clear that in both described embodiments the support of the thrusting plate 13 on the internal walls of the tubular barrel 12 has to occur without considerable interference, which would actually prevent the relative linear sliding.
In a second embodiment of the adhesive throwing device 10, shown in figures 11a and lib, the actuator 18 is constituted by two elastic elements constrained outside the tubular barrel to two fixed opposite arms 19.
The opposite end of the elastic elements is constrained in the example respectively to a pin 20 projecting from the thruster 17 on opposite sides.
In the example, the thruster 17 is slidably coupled with the tubular barrel 12 for a translation in the longitudinal direction, i.e. along the axis 15, by means of two grooves 21 of the tubular barrel 12 which provide a through hole for the opposite pins 20 of the thruster 17.
Furthermore, in particular for use indoors, the thrusting plate 13 could be connected to the tubular barrel 12 by means of a recovery thread 30, even elastic, wherein the recovery thread 30 should have or reach a length greater than the tubular barrel and equivalent to the maximum distance at which the adhesives can be thrown, the thrusting plate having to accompany the adhesive up to the target surface 100.
The adhesive throwing device for the application from a distance of an adhesive 11 on a target surface 100, described above, operates through a method also part of the present invention, comprising the steps of:
- translating the thrusting plate 13, bearing the adhesive 11, inside the tubular barrel 12 along the axis 15 of the tubular barrel in the direction of the outlet mouth 16 and ejection of the thrusting plate 13 bearing the adhesive 11 from the outlet mouth 16 through the action of linear propulsion means 14 and
maintaining the thrusting plate 13 and the adhesive 11 at the same initial position orthogonal to the throwing direction acquired inside the tubular barrel 12 along the whole way until the target surface 100 is reached.
The adhesive throwing device subject of the present invention and the relative method have the advantage of enabling the throwing of adhesives on distant surfaces even nearly ten of metres and beyond by the user.
The adhesive throwing device thus conceived can be subjected to numerous modifications and variants, all falling within the scope of the invention; furthermore all details can be replaced by technically equivalent elements. In practice, the materials used, as well as the dimensions, may vary according to the technical requirements .
