Description

The present invention relates to a bracelet clasp comprising at least two arms articulated to each other, a first arm whose one end is attached to one strand of the bracelet, the other end being articulated on a first end of a second folding arm traversed at its second end by a shaft around which is articulated a clevis provided with first and second flaps and to which is attached another strand of the bracelet, and a lever closure system for locking said first and second arms; .

This clasp, also called clasp, is well known in the state of the art and usually includes one or two pushers as a closure system. However, it has sometimes been proposed a lever to replace conventional pushers and this is what the present invention will take advantage.

A clasp implementing a control lever and corresponding in outline to the summary description given above is described in document EP 1654950 . This clasp comprises at least two branches articulated to one another by one of their respective ends. One of the free ends of these branches comprises a lever articulated about an axis parallel to the hinge axis of the branches and secured to a hook, the other of the free ends of these branches having a hooking element shaped to allow the hook to engage with it, to maintain the branches in the folded position. The lever comprises elastic means for exerting a torque on it and stop means for limiting its pivoting, under the effect of the torque, about said axis, in a position corresponding at least to the engagement of the locking hook with the hanging element, in which elastic means are under tension, so that the lever must pivot against the elastic means to engage and release the locking hook of the fastening element.

In this prior document, it was understood that if it is necessary to lift the lever to open the clasp, which is very natural and in the order of things, it is also necessary to lift the same lever to close and block the clasp, which complicates the closing operation and makes it tedious. It is the object of the present invention not to manipulate the control lever during the closing operation and to provide a construction to achieve this goal.

Thus the present invention, in addition to fulfilling the generic definition expressed in the first paragraph of this description, is remarkable in that a lever is pivotally mounted on the yoke by means of a first hinge, said lever controlling a latch. -even pivotally mounted on said yoke by means of a second hinge, distinct from the first, said latch being arranged to cooperate with a hook which is equipped with the first arm and lock the clasp when the latter is pushed into the closed position, resilient means being arranged to hold the lever unlatched and the latch engaged with the hook when said lever is not manually operated.

The features and advantages of the present invention will emerge from the description which follows, made with reference to the accompanying drawings and giving, by way of an explanatory example, but in no way limiting an advantageous form of the production of a clasp, drawings in which:
  • the figure 1 is an exploded perspective view of the clasp according to the invention,
  • the figure 2 is a side view of the clasp according to the invention shown closed, the lift lever raised,
  • the figure 3 is a vertical section through the axes of rotation of the lever and latch shown in figure 1 , lever up,
  • the figure 4 is a vertical section passing through an outer blade of the elastic means and by a screw fixing said means to the yoke, raised lever,
  • the figure 5 is a vertical section passing through the central blade of the elastic means, and by the latch and the hook unhooked, lever raised,

  • the figure 8 is a vertical section passing through an outer blade of the elastic means and by a screw fixing said means to the yoke, lever folded,

La figure 1 montre encore que le fermoir de l'invention comporte un système de fermeture à levier 2 permettant le verrouillage des premier et second bras 8 et 7.The figure 1 is an exploded view of the clasp of the invention and the various parts composing it. In known manner, the clasp comprises a first arm 8, one end 15 is attached to a strand 14 of the bracelet, the bracelet being represented here by a first link. The other end 16 of the first arm 8 is articulated by means of a shaft 9 on a first end 19 of a second folding arm 7. In this particular case, the second arm 7 is formed of two longitudinal members 35 and 36 between which the first arm 8 is inserted when the clasp is in the closed position. This second arm 7 is traversed at its second end 17 and 18 by a shaft 11 around which is articulated a yoke 1 provided with first and second flaps 20 and 21. To this yoke 1 is attached another strand of the bracelet not shown in FIG. and emerging from said yoke 1 to the left of the figure. Conventionally, the shaft 11 is provided with a notch 37 and is held in place between the holes 38 and 39 respectively drilled in the flaps 20 and 21 of the yoke 1, by a barrel 10 provided with a throat 40 . The figure 1 shows again that the clasp of the invention comprises a lever closure system 2 for locking the first and second arms 8 and 7.

This closure system is new and constitutes the essence of the present invention which will be described now. The figure 1 shows indeed that a lever 2 is pivotally mounted on the yoke 1 by means of a first joint consisting of two small pins 3a penetrating holes 41 formed in the flaps 20 and 21 of the yoke 1. The figure 1 and more particularly the Figures 3 to 8 show that the lever 2 controls a latch 4 itself pivotally mounted on the yoke 1 by means of a second hinge, distinct from the first, and consisting of two small pins 3b. These small pins 3b penetrate holes in the flaps 20 and 21 of the yoke 1, these holes are not visible on the figure 1 . The control of the lock 4 by the lever 2 is by an outgrowth 28 formed on the back of the lever 2. The latch 4 is arranged to cooperate with a hook 22 which is equipped with the first arm 8 and to lock the clasp when the latter is pushed in. closing position. Finally, the figures show that the clasp is equipped with elastic means 5 arranged to hold the lever 2 not raised and the latch 4 engaged with the hook 22 when the lever is not manually operated.

Les mêmes figures 4 et 8 montrent l'une des vis 27 fixant la plaque 5 à la chape 1.In particular these elastic means 5 are in the form of a plate attached to the yoke 1 by means of screws 26 and 27 as seen in FIG. figure 1 . This plate 5 is cut in the shape of a rake and has a central blade 23 pressing a boss 50 formed on the back of the lever 2, which is well highlighted on the Figures 5, 6 and 7 . This same plate 5 also has two outer blades 24 and 25 pressing on protrusions 30 formed at the rear of the latch 4, which is well highlighted on the Figures 4 and 8 . The same Figures 4 and 8 show one of the screws 27 fixing the plate 5 to the yoke 1.

All figures show that the lever 2 is a plate provided with a gripping tab 31 which serves to lift the lever when the clasp must be open. This plate, when it is not activated, merges with the top of the screed 1.

It has already been pointed out above that the first and second articulations around which the lever 2 and the latch 4 pivot respectively are mounted on the yoke 1. For this purpose, the first and second flaps 20 and 21 forming part of the yoke 1 will be used. to go along these joints. The small pins 3a and 3b constituting these joints are mounted from outside the flaps in holes formed for this purpose and then laser welded. In a preferred embodiment, the outer portions of the holes are retouched to make these joints invisible. As a result, only the hole 38 shown in figure 2 , thanks to which the shaft 11 can be extracted and the clasp disassembled.

The operation of the clasp will be explained now using the Figures 3 to 8 which are vertical cuts made in the perspective drawing of the figure 1 .

The Figures 3 to 5 explain the operation of opening the clasp.

The figure 3 is a vertical section showing that the axis of rotation of the lever 2 and the axis of rotation of the latch 4 are distinct from each other, these axes of rotation respectively comprising the shafts 3a and 3b mounted in the flaps 20 and 21 of the screed 1. As will be seen later, the implementation of these two axes, which do not exist in the clasp EP 1 654 950 cited above, is the main idea of the present invention to prevent lifting of the lever when closing the clasp.

The figure 4 is a vertical section passing through one of the outer blades 24 and 25 composing the elastic means 5 fixed to the yoke 1 by two screws 27 and 26. The present section passes through the blade 24 and the screw 27. With the aid of the tab 31, the lever 2 is raised in the direction of the arrow A. The protrusion 28 which is provided with the lever 2 rotates the latch 4 by arming the blade 24.

The figure 5 is a vertical section passing through the central blade 23 of the elastic means 5. This section shows that the central blade 23 is armed by a boss 50 of the lever 2, the latter being always maintained raised. It can be seen that the latch 4 has escaped from the hook 22 that the first arm 8 carries. The second arm 7 of the clasp, whose end 18 is seen here, is no longer retained pressed to the first arm 8 and the clasp can is open.

The Figures 6 to 8 explain the closing operation of the clasp.

The figure 6 is a vertical sectional view showing the position of the components of the clasp just before locking the clasp. The cut passes through the central blade 23 of the elastic means 5. The lever 2 is no longer lifted manually and turned around the shaft 3a in the direction of the arrow B recalled that it is by the blade 23. The figure 6 shows that the surface of the lever 2 has a solution of continuity with the surface of the yoke 1 and that it merges with it. The figure 6 shows again that just before locking the clasp the bolt head 4 is in contact with the top of the hook 22 of the first arm 8.

The figure 7 is a vertical section through the central blade 23 of the elastic means 5. It shows the position of the components of the clasp in a locked situation. Manual pressure exerted on the yoke 1 led the head of the latch 4 to be placed under the hook 22 of the first arm 8 leading to the locking of the clasp. In this situation the first arm 8 rests between the longitudinal members 35 and 36 of the second arm 7 and the shaft 11 passing through the second ends 17 and 18 of said second arm 7 is at the bottom of a groove 51 made towards the end of the first arm 8.

Cette figure montre bien l'appui de la lame 24 contre l'excroissance 30 du verrou 4 ce qui maintient bien en prise la tête du verrou 4 avec le crochet 22 du premier bras 8.Finally, figure 8 is a vertical section through the outer blade 24 of the elastic means 5 and the fixing screw 27, the clasp being locked and the lever 2 folded on the yoke 1. This figure shows the support of the blade 24 against the protrusion 30 of the latch 4 which keeps the head of the latch 4 in engagement with the hook 22 of the first arm 8.

Thus explanations that have just been given, it is understood that the closure of the clasp was made without tilting of the lever 2 which remained in place during the entire operation, the lever 2 being held pressed against the yoke 1. It will also be noted that the construction which has just been described makes the force necessary to lift the lever 2 independent of the force exerted on the strands of the bracelet, this opening force being adaptable to different types of bracelets (men, ladies). ) by changing the only elastic means 5.
