Description

A bench arrangement for a cupboard
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a bench arrangement for cupboards and similar arrangements, which easily can be mounted and dismounted in a frame included in the bench arrangement. The bench arrangement may, e.g., consist of a workbench having a bench top lying on top. BACKGROUND
In activities with high requirements of hygiene, e.g., in food handling, catering kitchens and medical service, extensive cleaning is required of all objects that are associated with the activity. Here, it has turned out to be costly to clean larger objects, e.g., workbenches and the like, in comparison with different kinds of tools and instruments, which easily can be cleaned by machine washing. In particular cupboards of different kinds, such as, e.g., cupboards that are included in workbenches, are cumbersome to clean. The methods for the cleaning of larger objects are today neither ergonomically adapted.
The object of the present invention is to provide a bench arrangement for a cupboard that allows such a simple mounting and dismounting that it upon cleaning of the cupboards should be easy to dismount the same and, e.g., carry out the cleaning in a larger dishwasher. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The bench arrangement according to the invention concerns suspension of cupboard or the like in a frame, which may comprise a bench top and which has a front edge and a rear edge essentially parallel to the same. Brackets for the suspension of the cupboard may be arranged in several different ways in the frame. In a preferred embodiment, a downwardly directed bracket is arranged along the front edge and a downwardly directed rear bracket arranged along the rear edge along the bench top, these brackets also supporting the bench top. By cupboard, reference is made to all types of storage units or the like, irrespective of them being closed or open and not necessarily of shapes as right-angled prisms. Also the brackets may have different forms, e.g., sheet profiles, pipes, in particular square pipes, and the like.
In the bench arrangement, at least one cupboard is arranged essentially hanging underneath the frame and movable laterally along the brackets. However, it is within the scope of the invention to suspend the cupboard on one or more brackets, one or more of which may be arranged underneath the upper bracket(s). The cupboard may, e.g., be suspended with its upper front edge in an upper bracket at the front edge of the frame and with its lower rear edge in a rear bracket at its underside.
By a simple hand grip, the cupboard can be inserted into the frame and primarily be suspended in the brackets in such a way that it in an in-use position rests on support members along which it can be displaced laterally. The cupboard is advantageously fixable in different positions along the brackets by means of fixing members, e.g., pins and securing plates, which can be inserted into the frame, e.g., through openings in the brackets. The fixing members may also consist of eccentric pegs or similar devices, which advantageously may be arranged on the proper cupboard and move along upon displacement of the cupboard along the brackets. The cupboard can also be fixed in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direct of the brackets by means of the same or additional fixing members, in order not to slide off from the support members when used.
In a preferred embodiment, the respective bracket may have two horizontal support members, and the cupboard may have at least one, in particular two suspension members, which in an in-use position rest against the respective support members in the respective bracket. At the ends of its underside, the respective suspension member has suspension sections or suspension details, which rest against the support members of the respective bracket.
In a certain embodiment, the cupboard is supported by two suspension members, the respective suspension member being a ruler. At the ends on the underside, the respective ruler has suspension sections, between which the lower part of the ruler has a length that is somewhat smaller than the distance between the support members of the brackets, whereby the lower part of the ruler can be brought down between the support members, while the projecting parts of the respective ruler rest on the support members of the respective bracket.
In a first embodiment example, the respective bracket is a sheet profile having an essentially vertical web. The horizontal support members are edges folded inward into the frame from the web of the respective bracket. The rear end of the respective ruler is displaceable in over the rear folded-in edge of the rear bracket, wherein this edge may be wider than the front folded-in edge of the front bracket. An upwardly directed support fin is arranged at the front end of the respective ruler at the front bracket. The support fin has a vertical height that is somewhat smaller than the distance between the bench top and the folded-in edge of the front bracket. The front end of the rulers can be pressed up so that the support fins abut against the underside of the bench top, and then the rulers can be pulled toward the front bracket until the front end of the respective ruler essentially reaches up to the front bracket of the bench top, in which position the support fins extend between the underside of the bench top and the folded-in edge of the front bracket. In that connection, the rear end of the respective ruler slides on the rear folded-in edge but still rests against the same in the in-use position.
In a second embodiment example, the respective bracket is a sheet profile having an essentially vertical web. In this example, at least the vertical web of the rear bracket may be formed with an outwardly folded section, above which the rulers can be inserted upon the application of the cupboard and underneath which the rulers can be fixed in their in-use position.
In a third embodiment example, the respective bracket is a sheet profile having an essentially vertical web. The horizontal support members are edges folded inward into the frame from the web of the respective bracket, the rear bracket having a row of holes in the vertical web thereof. In this embodiment, the suspension members are rulers, which extend between the brackets of the frame. At its rear end, the respective ruler has a support peg directed to the rear bracket, and at its front end at the front bracket, an upwardly directed support fin. Upon the mounting of the rulers, the support pegs can be brought to project through the corresponding holes in the rear bracket. After that, the front end of the rulers can be pressed up so that the support fins abut against the underside of the bench top, and then the rulers can be pulled toward the front bracket as in the second example. In doing so, the support pegs are pulled out of the holes, so that the rear end of the respective ruler falls down onto the inwardly folded edges of the rear bracket. In the in-use position, the support pegs are placed flush with the support surface on the rear inwardly folded edge of the rear bracket. The holes in the rear bracket are arranged above the support pegs in this position. The support pegs have a length that gives the respective ruler a total length that is somewhat smaller than the distance between the brackets of the bench top.
In a third embodiment example, the respective bracket is a sheet profile having an essentially vertical web. The horizontal support members are edges folded inward into the frame from the web of the respective bracket. The rulers are telescopically collapsible against a built-in
compression spring in the respective ruler. The mounting of the rulers is made by the rear end of the respective ruler first being applied to the brackets, and then these are compressed by a compressing force being applied to the front ends of the rulers until the front end of the respective ruler can be brought up past the front folded-in edge of the front bracket, and then the compressing force is removed so that the respective ruler can be extended between the vertical webs of the brackets.
In a preferred embodiment, the cupboard is movable between different preset positions along the brackets. Such positions may consist of holes or grooves and the like and be arranged along the length of the brackets. In a preferred embodiment, the edge directed inward of the respective bracket has saw tooth-shaped recesses, which extend along the respective edge and constitute predetermined positions for the lower parts of the rulers. In order to facilitate movement of the cupboard laterally, in particular if this is heavy in itself or filled with heavy items, the same may be detachably arranged in a guide frame. In doing so, the guide frame is intended to, without cupboard, be insertable into the frame and be moved in the same to a desired position, and then the cupboard is applied in the guide frame when the same eventually is in place. The guide frame comprises one or more guides that extend between the brackets. The guides may extend entirely or partly along the sides of the guide frame. The cupboard is displaceable on the guides and preferably also fixable by means of fixing members in a position where it entirely or partly is located inserted under the bench top.
Further features and details regarding the invention are seen in the description of figure sheets below as well as in the claims. DESCRIPTION OF FIGURE SHEETS

Advantageously, the mat 4 has a considerably greater thickness in relation to the sheet thickness and is glued on between the bench top 1.1 and the cover plate 3. The brackets 1.3, 1.5 may be an integrated part of the bench top 1.1 and bent into a desired profile from the same. In the example, the bench top 1 .1 as well as the cover plate 3 are manufactured from stainless steel.
A guide frame 5, which is shown separately in Figure 4, is arranged to, by a simple hand grip, be applicable on any place underneath the bench top 1.1. The cupboard 2 is arranged to be applicable in the guide frame 5 after the same has been mounted on the underside of the frame 1.
The guide frame 5 has two mutually parallel rulers 5.1 , which extend between the brackets 1.3, 1.5 of the bench top 1.1. The respective ruler 5.1 supports a guide 5.2, which extends horizontally along the length of the ruler 5.1 and which at the front end has a downwardly folded lip 5.3, the purpose of which is to facilitate the pushing of the cupboard 2 onto the guide frame 5.
At its rear end, the respective ruler 5.1 has a support peg 5.4 directed to the rear bracket 1.5, and at the front bracket 1.3, an upwardly directed support fin 5.5. The ends of the respective ruler constitute suspension sections 5.6, by which the ruler 5.1 rests against the inwardly folded edges 1.8, 1.9. In the in-use position, the support pegs 5.4 are placed flush with the support surface on the rear inwardly folded edge 1.9 of the rear bracket 1.5. The holes 1.6 in the rear bracket 1 .5 are arranged above the support pegs 5.4 in this position. The support pegs 5.4 have a length that gives the respective ruler 5.1 a total length that is somewhat smaller than the distance between the vertical webs of the brackets 1.3, 1.5 of the bench top 1.1.
At its lower edge, the respective ruler 5.1 has a length that is somewhat smaller than the distance between the inwardly folded edges 1.8, 1.9 of the respective bracket 1.3, 1.5, so that the lower part can be brought down between the inwardly folded edges 1.8, 1.9, while the projecting parts of the respective ruler 5.1 in the in-use position rest on the inwardly folded edges 1.8, 1.9 of the respective bracket 1.3, 1.5.
The guide frame 5 is mounted by being inserted on the underside of the bench top 1.1 so that the rearwardly directed support pegs 5.4 can project through the corresponding holes 1.6 in the rear bracket 1.5. In that connection, the guide frame 5 has to be raised at its rear end from the rear inwardly folded edge 1 .9 in order to allow insertion of the support pegs 5.4 into the respective hole 1.6. The rear end of the respective ruler 5.1 has such a height that the support pegs 5.4 are located in the position of the corresponding holes 1.6 for the insertion. Next, the front end of the guide frame 5 is pressed up so that the support fins 5.5 abut against the underside of the bench top 1.1 , and then it is pulled toward the front wall until the front end of the respective ruler 5.1 reaches up to the front bracket 1.3 of the bench top 1.1. In doing so, the support pegs 5.4 are pulled out of their holes 1.6, the rear end of the respective ruler 5.1 falling down onto the folded-in edge 1.9 of the rear bracket 1.5. By the support pegs 5.4 being placed flush with the support surface on the respective ruler 5.1 , the support pegs 5.4 will be located underneath the holes 1.6 and cannot press back out through the same.
The cupboard 2 has a top, a bottom and three closed walls as well as an openable front. Two runners 2.1 extend along the long sides of the top and are directed toward each other. The runners 2.1 are intended to be pushed in on the guides 5.2 of the guide frame 5, the respective lip 5.3 facilitating the insertion. A ratchet 2.2 is arranged on a resilient sheet 2.3, which extends transverse across the upperside of the front and keeps the cupboard 2 in place by locking behind the front bracket 1.3 of the bench top 1.1. The cupboard 2 is pulled out from the guides 5.2 by the resilient sheet 2.3 being pressed down so that the ratchet 2.2 can be pulled down past the front bracket 1.3 of the bench top 1.1. The respective runner (2.1 ) is arranged on a web 2.4 projecting from the cupboard 2. A recess 2.5 is arranged at the rear end of the respective web 2.4, into which the rear folded-in edge 1.9 of the rear bracket 1.5 can project and lock the ruler 5.1 in the vertical direction when the cupboard is entirely inserted in the guide frame 5.
