Abstract

Aseptic/protective mitt, formed by a kind of bag of aseptic material connected to the user's belt or other article of clothing, by means of an attachment system that allows the mitt to be changed and used without being detached from the fastening, by means of the use of a cord or the like that automatically rolls up into the connection clip.

Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an aseptic/protective mitt, intended to be used whenever hand protection is necessary, preferably in a healthcare environment, and in other places wherein possible infections from contact with certain objects, materials and/or patients, want to be avoided.
  • The object of the invention is carrying an aseptic/protective mitt at all times and allowing its use at any time when necessary or deemed convenient according to the prescribed purpose, given the easy insertion and removal of the hand from it.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Gloves are normally used when the manipulation of certain components and elements to be applied to patients is carried out in hospitals, clinics, and places with a high risk of infection, as well as in the manipulation, checking, care, and other activities that can be carried out in hospitals with relative frequency.
  • In addition, in everyday life, there are situations, whether due to the weather conditions or for the manipulation of certain products, in which hand protection is necessary and alternatively, they need to be taken out for the manipulation of certain other elements, such as computers, mobile phones, ATM, etc...
  • Clearly, in many occasions, health personnel checking on patients find themselves in situations requiring the use of gloves, for example, to brief the patient, manipulate objects or elements susceptible to infection, although the use of gloves is necessary unexpectedly and in many occasions, and in those times, health personnel do not have them at hand, which is an inconvenience and implies a waste of time, discomfort, etc.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The aseptic/protective mitt being advocated was conceived to solve the aforementioned problem, based on a simple yet highly efficient solution, based on that said mitt is linked to a gripper clamp in the user's waist, such as pant belts, belt loops, the belt or pocket of a coat, etc., so the mitt is carried by health personnel on a permanent basis and when its use is needed in any circumstances, they only need to pull it by means of a winding/unwinding system from an attachment strip between the gripping clamp and the mitt itself, in order to use it by virtue of the length of this element or strip linking the clamp to the mitt.
  • In addition, the winding/unwinding element is made is such a way that when it is pulled, the strip is wound up, therefore, shortening its length, while pulling allows extending it and using the mitt without having to release the clamp from the user's waist. The winding system can also be locked by means of a locking mechanism, thereby preventing the cord from being taut all the time, so a slight movement is necessary to recover the tautness for its winding. All the foregoing is aimed at providing complete freedom of movement when using the mitt.
  • On the other hand, it should be noted that the mitt is linked to the gripping clamp by means of a reusable element, allowing changing the mitt at any time to replace it with an unused one without having to release the winding/unwinding clamp from the strip joining that gripping clamp to the mitt's own hooking element.
  • In addition, one of the essential features of the mitt is being constituted by a kind of bag made from aseptic material, that is to say, from an unwoven fabric normally used in hospitals, for example, the material masks are made of, which may be used whenever healthcare personnel consider there is a risk of infection when touching a patient, objects, elements related to patients or facilities related to the healthcare environment.
  • Finally, it should be said that the mitt may be manufactured in another type of material other than the aforementioned one, to be used for driving vehicles, thermal protection, manipulation of hazardous, sharp, abrasive, or sticky objects and materials, etc.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • To supplement the description to be made below and with the purpose of facilitating a greater comprehension of the features of the invention according to an example of a preferred practical embodiment thereof, said description is accompanied by a set of drawings, attached as an integral part thereof, in which, by way of illustration and not by way of limitation, the following is represented:
    • Figure 1. It shows a representation in overall perspective of the aseptic/protective mitt realised according to the object of the invention, linked to the gripping clamp with the strip's winding/unwinding element so it can be extended accordingly.
    • Figure 2. It shows a representation corresponding to the same view as the previous figure, with the cord extended in this case.
    PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
  • As it can be seen in the aforementioned figures, the mitt (1) of the invention, susceptible of being manufactured in any kind of material, although preferably manufactured in the aseptic paper used in hospitals, such as, for example, the one masks are made of, which has the particularity of constituting a kind of bag joined to a hooking element (2), made up by a gripping clamp hooked to, for example, a pant belt or another item of the user's clothing, with the purpose of carrying the mitt (1) hanging at all times and being able to use it at any time, for which said gripping clamp (2) is linked to a removable holding hook from the mitt (1) itself, which is interchangeable, that is to say, the mitt (1) may be linked and unlinked from the hooking element (3) to be exchanged and replaced, while the gripping clamp (2) has a cord, cable, strip or similar winding/unwinding system (4) so that, when the bag (1) or the gripping clamp (2) are pulled, said strip (4) will extend and therefore there is a possibility of using the mitt (1) without having to unlink the gripping clamp (2) from the user's waist or other item of clothing.
  • Clearly, there will be appropriate linking means (5) between the gripping clamp (2) and the mitt's (1) hooking element (3) from one component to another, allowing unlinking the gripping clamp (2) from element (5) and with it from the hooking element (6).
  • As said above, the mitt can be used in any kind of activity deemed convenient according to its alternative use, whether for aseptic or protection uses, for driving vehicles, thermal protection, manipulation of hazardous, sharp, abrasive or sticky objects and materials, etc., and may be manufactured with any kind of material appropriate for each case, such as the unwoven fabric itself, cloth, rubber, leather, etc.... reason why the size, shape or composition of the elements is susceptible to changes without thereby departing from the scope of the invention claimed below.

Claims (3)

  1. Aseptic/protective mitt intended for its use preferably in a healthcare environment, to be used at any time in the case of a risk for infection from contact between health personnel and patients and/or objects that could cause the aforementioned infection, characterized in that it is constituted by a kind of bag made from aseptic material linked to a gripping clamp to be held from the user's waist or other item of clothing; with the particularity that the gripping clamp is linked to a hooking element from the mitt itself, through an intermediate element, allowing the mitt's interchangeability.
  2. Aseptic/protective mitt according to claim 1, characterized in that on the gripping clamp from the mitt set there is a cord, strip or similar element of indeterminate length, with automatic winding within said gripping clamp, enabling it to be extended and allowing the use of the mitt without unlinking said gripping clamp from the rest of the user's item of clothing.
  3. Aseptic/protective mitt according to claim 1, characterized in that the mitt is susceptible to be made out of any material enabling all types of activities, whether for aseptic or protection uses, for driving vehicles, thermal protection, manipulation of hazardous, sharp, abrasive or sticky objects and materials, etc.
