Description
- The present invention relates to a convenient telescopic folding chair having telescopic rods and seat cushion formed by a cushion inserted to a tube frame.
- Folding chairs are very popular in the market. Except the basic folding function, the durability, portability, and storage are also concerned by the user. Prior folding chair mostly consists of seat cushion formed by a wooden-base cushion framed by a closed metal frame. The punched metal seat plate or molded plastic seat plate are also commonly used in folding chairs.
- However, the closed metal frame around the cushion will confine the design of the seat of the chair, and the punched metal seat will cause higher cost for manufacturing. The molded plastic seat is concerned about its safety and bearing capability, enhancement of thickness and material will oppositely increase the weight and the waste of storage.

US 2009/0146467 discloses a chair may include a seat, a chair back and a frame that may be connected to the seat and/or chair back. The chair back and the frame may include engaging portions and/or receiving portions that may be sized and configured to contact, abut, engage and/or interlock with each other to connect the chair back to the frame. - Another example of such chair is disclosed in
US 2007/0257524 . - Accordingly, the primary object of the present invention is to provide a convenient, space-saving, light, fine and durable folding chair.
- To achieve above object, according to a first aspect the present invention provides a telescopic folding chair comprising a front foot, back cushion, rear foot, seat cushion, and telescopic rods arranged between the rear foot and the seat cushion; wherein the front foot pivots on the rear foot through arranging holes; two retaining holes are formed near to two ends of the front foot for receiving two spring-loaded pins formed on two lateral sides of the back cushion; two plugs, one formed on each of the two lateral sides of the back cushion, are respectively inserted into the two ends of the front foot with the spring-loaded pins being retained by the two retaining holes; and two connecting plates, are each arranged oppositely to predetermined locations adjacent to an inner surface of the front foot; characterized in that the connecting plate has a through hole for assembling the front foot to a frame of the seat cushion; two sleeves slid into two ends of the rear foot for receiving the two telescopic rods; the telescopic rods are fixed to the two lateral sides of the frame of the seat cushion; the seat cushion includes the frame and a cushion; a plug is formed to two lateral sides of the cushion respectively for being inserted into the two ends of the frame; and the frame sustains a rear and the two lateral sides of the cushion so that the cushion is supported by the frame and the front and rear feet.
- In accordance with a second aspect of the present invention, a telescopic chair is provided that comprises a front foot, back cushion, rear foot, seat cushion, and telescopic rods arranged between the rear foot and the seat cushion; wherein the front foot pivots on the rear foot through arranging holes; two retaining holes are formed near to two ends of the front foot for receiving two spring-loaded pins formed on two lateral sides of the back cushion; two plugs one formed on each of the two lateral sides of the back cushion, are respectively inserted into the two ends of the front foot with the spring-loaded pins being retained by the two retaining holes; and two connecting plates, are each arranged oppositely to predetermined locations adjacent to an inner surface of the front foot; characterized in that the connecting plate has a through hole for assembling the front foot and a frame of the seat cushion; two sleeves slid into two ends of the rear foot for receiving the two telescopic rods; the telescopic rods are fixed to the two lateral sides of the frame of the seat cushion; the seat cushion includes the frame and a cushion; a plug is formed to two lateral sides of the cushion respectively for being inserted into the two ends of the frame; and the frame sustains a front and the two lateral sides of the cushion so that the cushion is supported by the frame and the front and rear feet.

Fig. 7 is a schematic view showing an embodiment of a front edge of the seat cushion of the present invention. - In order that those skilled in the art can further understand the present invention, a description will be provided in the following in details.
- Referring to
Figs. 1 and3 , two embodiments of convenient telescopic folding chair according to the present invention are illustrated. The embodiments both includefront foot 1,back cushion 2,rear foot 3,seat cushion 4, andtelescopic rods 5 arranged between two lateral sides of theseat cushion 4 and the two ends of therear foot 3. - Referring to
Figs. 1 ,2 , and5 , thefront foot 1 pivots on therear foot 3 through arrangingholes 11. Tworetaining holes 12 are formed near to two ends of thefront foot 1 respectively for receiving two spring-loadedpins 21 on two lateral sides of theback cushion 2. Twoplugs 22 are also formed to the two later sides of theback cushion 2 for being inserted into the two ends of thefront foot 1 so that theback cushion 2 is fixed to thefront foot 1 with the spring-loadedpins 21 being retained by the tworetaining holes 12. Two connectingplates 13 are arranged oppositely to predetermined locations of an inner surface of thefront foot 1. The connectingplate 13 has a throughhole 131 for assembling thefront foot 1 to aframe 41 of theseat cushion 4. - Two
sleeves 31 are slid into two ends of therear foot 3 for receiving the twotelescopic rods 5. Thetelescopic rod 5 is fixed to the two lateral sides of theframe 41 of theseat cushion 4. The three connection points of thetelescopic rod 5 to theseat cushion 4, thefront foot 1 to theseat cushion 4, and thefront foot 1 to therear foot 3 form a triangle so as to provide an ideal support and a strong structure. - Referring to
Fig. 5 , theseat cushion 4 includes atube frame 41 and acushion 42. Aplug 421 is formed to two lateral sides of thecushion 42 respectively for being inserted into the two ends of theframe 41 so as to form theseat cushion 4. Theframe 41 sustains a rear and two lateral sides of thecushion 42 so as to provide a high bearing capability based on the supporting of the front and the rear foot. Without theframe 41, the front side of thecushion 42 can be shaped smoothly or ergonomically as shown inFig. 7 . - Referring to
Figs. 3 ,4 , and6 , another embodiment of the present invention is illustrated. Thefront foot 1 pivots on therear foot 3 through arrangingholes 11. Tworetaining holes 12 are formed near to two ends of thefront foot 1 for receiving two spring-loadedpins 21 on two lateral sides of theback cushion 2. Twoplugs 22 are also formed to the two later sides of theback cushion 2 for being inserted into the two ends of thefront foot 1 so that theback cushion 2 is fixed to thefront foot 1 with the spring-loadedpins 21 being retained by the tworetaining holes 12. Two connectingplates 13 are arranged to predetermined opposite locations of an inner surface of thefront foot 1. The connectingplate 13 has a throughhole 131 for assembling thefront foot 1 to atube frame 41 of theseat cushion 4. - Two
sleeves 31 are slid into two ends of therear foot 3 for receiving the twotelescopic rods 5. Thetelescopic rod 5 is fixed to the two lateral sides of theframe 41 of theseat cushion 4. - The
seat cushion 4 includes thetube frame 41 and acushion 42 as shown inFig. 6 . Aplug 421 is formed to two lateral sides of thecushion 42 respectively for being inserted into the two ends of theframe 41 so as to form theseat cushion 4. Theframe 41 sustains a front and the two lateral sides of thecushion 42 so as to provide a high bearing capability based on the supporting of the front and the rear foot. - The present invention is light and space-saving for its thin folded thickness. The ergonomic design will improve the appearance and comfort thereof as well as the quality, practicability, and economic benefit.
Claims (2)
- A convenient telescopic folding chair comprising a front foot (1), back cushion (2), rear foot (3), seat cushion (4), and telescopic rods (5) arranged between the rear foot (3) and the seat cushion (4); wherein the front foot (1) pivots on the rear foot (3) through arranging holes (11); two retaining holes (12) are formed near to two ends of the front foot (1) for receiving two spring-loaded pins (21) formed on two lateral sides of the back cushion (2); two plugs (22), one formed on each of the two lateral sides of the back cushion (2), are respectively inserted into the two ends of the front foot (1) with the spring-loaded pins (21) being retained by the two retaining holes (12); and two connecting plates (13), are each arranged oppositely to predetermined locations adjacent to an inner surface of the front foot (1); characterized in that the connecting plate (13) has a through hole (131) for assembling the front foot (1) to a frame (41) of the seat cushion (4); two sleeves (31) slid into two ends of the rear foot (3) for receiving the two telescopic rods (5); the telescopic rods (5) are fixed to the two lateral sides of the frame (41) of the seat cushion (4); the seat cushion (4) includes the frame (41) and a cushion (42); a plug (421) is formed to two lateral sides of the cushion (42) respectively for being inserted into the two ends of the frame (41); and the frame (41) sustains a rear and the two lateral sides of the cushion (42) so that the cushion is supported by the frame (41) and the front and rear feet (1,3).
- A convenient telescopic folding chair comprising a front foot (1), back cushion (2), rear foot (3), seat cushion (4), and telescopic rods (5) arranged between the rear foot (3) and the seat cushion (4); wherein the front foot (1) pivots on the rear foot (3) through arranging holes (11); two retaining holes (12) are formed near to two ends of the front foot (1) for receiving two spring-loaded pins (21) formed on two lateral sides of the back cushion (2); two plugs (22), one formed on each of the two lateral sides of the back cushion (2), are respectively inserted into the two ends of the front foot (1) with the spring-loaded pins (21) being retained by the two retaining holes (12); and two connecting plates (13), are each arranged oppositely to predetermined locations adjacent to an inner surface of the front foot (1); characterized in that the connecting plate (13) has a through hole (131) for assembling the front foot (1) and a frame (41) of the seat cushion (4); two sleeves (31) slid into two ends of the rear foot (3) for receiving the two telescopic rods (5); the telescopic rods (5) are fixed to the two lateral sides of the frame (41) of the seat cushion (4); the seat cushion (4) includes the frame (41) and a cushion (42); a plug (421) is formed to two lateral sides of the cushion (42) respectively for being inserted into the two ends of the frame (41); and the frame (41) sustains a front and the two lateral sides of the cushion (42) so that the cushion is supported by the frame (41) and the front and rear feet (1,3).
