Bei einem Druckmaschinenhersteller wurden auf einer Produktionsanlage Druckversuche mit unterschiedlichen PVC-Folien der Renolit AG durchgeführt. Als erster Versuch wurde das Standardträgermaterial Papier bedruckt, das sich ohne Problem drucken und trocknen ließ. Anschließend wurde eine halbharte Transparentfolie aus PVC mit einer Dicke von 100 µm bedruckt. Die Folie konnte zwar bedruckt werden, aber die Druckfarbe lies sich nicht trocknen und legte sich teilweise an der Anpresswalze ab. Daraufhin wurde die Strahlerleistung des IR-Strahlers angehoben. Dies zeigte keine Verbesserung. Die Strahler konnten auch nur begrenzt in der Leistung angehoben werden, da die Folie wellig wurde, die Druckköpfe streifte und somit den Druck beschädigte. Auch die Reduzierung der Geschwindigkeit auf ca. 8 m/min zeigte keine Verbesserung. Nach einem Maschinenstillstand wurde eine Folienprobe zwischen dem Auslauf der Druckeinheit und Anpresswalze entnommen und zur Seite gelegt. Beim Abtasten der Oberfläche konnte der Druck abgewischt werden - selbst nach einer längeren Lagerzeit von einer Woche. Das gleiche Verhalten zeigte eine harte, eingefärbte PVC-Folie mit einer Dicke von 100 um. Ein auf Papier abgestimmtes Druckfarbensystem mit wasserbasierten Tinten ist somit für PVC-Folien ungeeignet.As a first attempt the standard carrier paper was printed, which could be printed and dried without problem. Claims (7)

  1. Method for producing color matches or small-batch series of printed plastic film, in which the print is identical to the print produced by means of the rotogravure method in terms of resolution and colours, characterized in that the film (1) is printed with a speed from 20 to 40 m/min. by means of an array of stationary print heads (2a, 2b) in an ink jet method using a solvent based ink, wherein the ink contains the same dyes and/or pigments, wherein the viscosity and the properties of the ink are adjusted to the ink jet printing method, and a controller (3) controls the application of the ink locally and in terms of quantity such that a rotogravure application is simulated.
  2. Method according to claim 1, characterized in that the viscosity of the ink is in the range of < 15mPa•s.
  3. Method according to claim 1, characterized in that the fineness of the pigments is adjusted to the ink jet printing method and resulting color deviations are compensated for by varying the quantities.
  4. Method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that between 1 m and 3000 m of film are printed.
  5. Method according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a colorimeter is used to monitor color and print consistency.
  6. Method according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that a pattern for ink jet printing is obtained by scanning an existing printed film, veneers and other arbitrary surfaces.
  7. Method according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that a rotogravure cylinder is produced in accordance with the data for the ink jet printing process.
