Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Inbetriebnahme einer Geldkassette (12), bei dem die Geldkassette (12) in eine Vorrichtung (14) zur Aufnahme von Geldkassetten eingesetzt wird und eine Bedienperson aufgefordert wird, die Ausprägung mindestens eines Prozessparameters des Prozesses (40, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170, 180, 190, 200, 210) den die Geldkassette (12) im Betrieb durchlaufen soll, einzugeben. Nach der Eingabe wird in Abhängigkeit der eingegebenen Ausprägungen mindestens ein Betriebsparameter der Geldkassette (12) eingestellt und dieser eingestellte Betriebsparameter in einem Speicherelement (18) der Geldkassette (12) gespeichert. Ein weiterer Aspekt der Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Geldkassette, bei dem in einem Speicherelement (18) der Geldkassette (12) und in einem Speicherelement (76) einer Vorrichtung (70) zur Handhabung von Wertscheinen, der gleiche Verschlüsselungsschlüssel gespeichert wird. Eine Steuereinheit (20) der Geldkassette (12) verschlüsselt an die Vorrichtung (70) zu übertragende Daten mit Hilfe dieses Verschlüsselungsschlüssels und eine Steuereinheit (74) der Vorrichtung (70) entschlüsselt die empfangenen Daten mit Hilfe des in dem Speicherelement (76) der Vorrichtung (70) hinterlegten Verschlüsselungsschlüssels.
