    Technical Viewpoint
  • This invention refers to an adaptor, which can be mounted onto/demounted from any of the furniture elements, including at least one piece of damper with air or liquid compression, which can eliminate the noise by preventing the furniture segments that are moving on fixed furniture units such as box drawer from hitting to the counter side when closing them fast and enables the mentioned mobile parts to close slowly.
  • Current Status of the Technique
  • In the current applications, there is a lot of equipments available in order to prevent the front panels of the systems from hitting the counter side when closing fast such as the doors, drawers etc. which are used in the furnitures, and to eliminate the noise to arise due to hitting along with the damages to take place on the product. To be utilized in such a field, some of the retarder patents operating with air or oil systems which have already been developed are known with the numbers as WO2004/085871 , WO2007143760 , WO2008/010664 and DE202006003197 .
  • Also, patents numbered EP1199433 , EP1501992 , EP1467055 , EP1725727 and WO2008020682 are currently known in the current applications with respect to the application of a retarder on furniture elements.
  • Among the above mentioned patents, the patent numbered EP1199433 refers to a damper, including a body and an actuator moving inside the body, to be mounted from outside on the hole on the hinge rod. Here, the body with damper contains a bulge and this body is steered through the hole on the hinge and can be hold by means of flexible hooks which can be deformed. The biggest disadvantage of this system is, that, while opening and closing the mobile door, the bulge which was steered through the hole on hinge rod may work out from its place due to the force received by the actuator, and that the damper can not fulfil its function of closing slowly due to sharp hitting of the mobile door onto the fixed furniture in the direction of closing, due to the fact that the mobile furniture door can not be adjusted in terms of its distance to the fixed furniture segment in the direction of closing of the actuator, against the cases of heaviness, in other words, due to the fact that the pulse hit can not be adjusted.
  • In the patent numbered EP1467055 , a body that suitably fits onto the installation underlay on the hinge rod or inside the furniture unit, a retarder inside the body and an adaptor that contains mounting slots on the body in order to brake and retard the mobile furniture parts, were defined.
  • In the patent numbered WO2008020682 , a damper inside the body settling on the hinge, a hook in the lower part of the body for steering through the slot on the hinge rod and an adaptor including a flexible holder which holds a terminal point of the hinge rod from a terminal point of a body, were defined. Here, while the adaptor is fixed on the hinge rod, the hinge rod can be fixed on the underlay of the hinge and can be adjusted.
  • In US 2008/0271294 A1 a damping cylinder is mounted laterally on a saddle fixed on a mounting arm. The underside of the saddle has a fastening protrusion, which protrudes into a window of a mounting arm. The saddle is locked by a turnable locking peg.
  • The Purpose and Brief Introduction of the Invention.
  • Considering the current status of the technique, the purpose of the invention is to realize a long life position-adjustable adaptor with at least one piece of damper with air or liquid compression, which can eliminate the noise by preventing the mobile furniture segments moving on fixed furniture units such as box drawer from hitting to the counter part when closing them fast, which enables the mentioned mobile parts to close slowly and which can be mounted and demounted onto and from any of the furniture elements (hinge, mobile door, fixed body, drawer etc). One of the particular of the invention is that the developed adaptor can be steered through the slot on the hinge rod in hinged doors and that it can be practically mounted or demounted on an underlay which includes a slot for the non-hinged structures.
  • Another particular of the invention is that the position of the mobile impulsive element is adjustable, which is guided inside the fixed body and which includes damper.
  • One another feature of the invention is that the adaptor, which is placed on the hole on hinge rod or on an underlay by a bulge which includes a slot inside, can be locked in the mentioned slot by springing.

  • In accordance with the mentioned figures, fixed body (6) contains a slot (6.3) on which the mobile impulsive element moves; a protrusion (6.1) which have a form of a hole (3.1) for mounting on the hole (3.1) on the furniture elements; a passageway (6.2) or insert interval (6.2) inside the protrusion, which enables the hooked legs (11.1) of the clamp to steer through and to lock, and a hole (6.4) for screwing the adjusting screw which adjusts the forward and backward position of the mobile impulsive element. In the mentioned figures, the clamp (11) contains a drawing cursor (11.2) for locking the fixed body protrusion (6.1) inside the hole (3.1) on the furniture elements, at least one piece of springing spring (11.3) which is preferably integral, and a claw (11. 4) or locking lug (11.4) which prevents the fixed body from leaving the hole (3.1). Also, the mobile impulsive element (7) in the figures contains a space (7.1) in the terminal part for the bulge of the end of the buffer; a channel (7.2) for the bearing of the damper cylinder, and a thrust bulge (7.3) for preventing it from leaving fixed body slot.
  • Figure 4 illustrates the perspective image regarding the installation of the mobile impulsive element (7) inside the slot (6.3) in the fixed body. In accordance with the figure, the cylinder of the damper is inserted in the mobile impulsive element channel and the mobile impulsive element is flexed and steered through the fixed body slot and is thrusted to the thrust bulge over the mobile impulsive element and to the holding base (6.5) on the base of the fixed body (Figure 4a).
  • In Figure 5, perspective images of the adaptor which includes damper, installed on the hole over the hinge rod, have been illustrated from lower angle. According to the figure, the protrusion (6.1) of the adaptor on the base of fixed body (6) is steered through the hole (3.1) over the hinge rod or underlay (4), and when the drawing cursor (11.2) of the clamp (11) which was fixed to the passageway (6.2) by hooked legs (11.1), was released, the locking claw (11.4) is locked under the hole (3.1) by springing of the spring (11.3), and so the adaptor is prevented from leaving the hole (3.1). Demounting the adaptor (5) over the hinge is accomplished by drawing the drawing bolt and releasing the locking claw (11.4) of the clamp (11) from the locked position (Figure 5a).
  • In Figure 6, the perspective image has been illustrated for the adaptor (5) which can be mounted on the hole (3.1) over an underlay (4) and hinge (3) mounted between the fixed furniture (2) and mobile door (1). According to the figure, in order to prevent the mobile door (1) which was connected to the fixed furniture (2) by hinge (3) to hit the counter side sharply, by closing slowly while opening and closing, an adaptor (5) which contains a retarder damper (8) can be placed on a hole (3.1) over the hinge rod or on the hole (3.1) on an underlay (4) which was mounted on the mobile door or on fixed furniture, preferably by screwing. So, when the mobile door (1) is pushed in the direction of closing, a very low sound occurs when the flexible buffer (10) placed in the space at the end of the mobile impulsive element (7) hits over the fixed furniture unit (2), the damper inside the impulsive element (7) moving in the slot (6.3) inside the fixed body starts to operate by the impulsive effect and enables the mobile door (1) to close slowly. Figure 7 and 7a illustrates the longitudinal section image of the adaptor which includes damper regarding the positional adjustment of the mobile impulsive element. According to the figure, by turning the adjustment screw (9) in the fixed body hole (6.4), the backward and forward position of the impulsive element (7) which moves in the fixed body slot (6.3) can be adjusted and it can be adjusted to close slowly or hit the door to the fixed furniture (2) depending on the weight of the door (1). In such a way that, when a heavy door (1) is used, the adjustment screw (9) is twisted and so the damper shaft (8.2) is pushed (figure7) and so the mobile impulsive element (7) is moved away from the fixed body slot (6.3) and consequently retarding distance at the moment of hitting is kept long and so the mobile door (1) is retarded.

Claims (2)

  1. Adaptor (5) that removes the noise by preventing moving furniture parts (1) like covers or drawers hitting against the other side inside fixed furniture units (2) in cases of fast closing situations, providing the soft closing of the said moving parts, having the capability to be mounted or dismounted by making use of a hole (3.1) on any of the furniture elements mentioned, such as hinges, moving cover, fixed body, drawer, base plate, etc., and containing a fixed body (6) with a protrusion (6.1) and a passageway (6.2) inside the said protrusion (6.1), a mobile impulsive element (7) moving in a guided path inside the fixed body (6) and having a damper (8) operating with air or liquid compressed systems inside, said adaptor containing a moving locking latch or clamp (11) least one locking claw (11.4) locking the protrusion (6.1) of the fixed body (6), said clamp (11) being located on, and capable of moving in, a holding base (6.5) of the fixed body (6) and passing through the passageway (6.2) inside the protrusion (6.1) of the fixed body (6) placed inside the hole (3.1) in use, characterized by
    - a flexible buffer (10) reducing the noise at the tip of the mobile impulsive element (7) during impacts and preventing damages to the damper inside,
    - an adjustment screw (9) adjusting the forward and backward position of the mobile impulsive element (7) in the fixed body (6),
    - inclusion of hooked legs (11.1) of the clamp (11) in the passageway (6.2) of the fixed body protrusion (6.1) , in order to enable the clamp (11) which moves forward and backward, to be placed in the mentioned passageway (6.2) and not to fly off and to be locked here and
    - a drawing cursor (11.2) of the clamp (11) in order to pull the clamp from out of the fixed body (6) and so to release the locking claw (11.4) from locked position.
  2. Adaptor (5) according to claim 1, characterized by the clamp (11) containing at least one piece of spring (11.3) in order to push the clamp locking claw (11.4) to a continuous locked position under the hole (3.1) when the clamp drawing cursor (11.2) is released.
