Description

Massage bed
DESCRIPTION
Object of the present finding is a massage bed for treating joints pathologies such as for ^example, cervicobrachialgia, lumbosciatica, muscle contractures due to stress or poor posture, oedemas due to insufficiency of the lymphatic system, or lastly abdominal swelling.
Few implementations of similar products are known in the state of the art. A massage bed is usually made up of a rectangular- shaped mattress supported by a rigid structure, contained inside which is a mechanism comprising rollers and/or vibration elements, actuated by at least one motor. The mattress is usually of the monobloc type with tiltable portions such as, for example, the lower part in which the lower limbs rest against or the upper portion of the back element.
Said massage beds have several drawbacks, one, among these, being the impossibility that the mattress acquires only the partial shape of the body of people of different body structure, for example, male or female body structure, or the body structure of an adult, child, or elderly person, or lastly, light, average or bulky body structure. As a matter of fact, the material of which the mattress is made has the double characteristic of being both a sufficiently soft means for accommodating the body of a person and sufficiently rigid coating for mechanical and vibrating means in order to avoid violent effects causing possible accidents to the person. The two abovementioned effects, are not compensatory, the result obtained being a massage that is poorly soft for the most critical pathologies such as for example cervicobrachialgia. A further disadvantage, is linked to the means interposed between the rollers and the body . the latter usually being entirely made up a plurality of more or less thick layers of wool, latex, rubber or other soft materials, all of which are deformed upon use and require being replaced or coated again with new materials .
An object of the finding subject of the present invention is that of providing a solution to the technical problem of guaranteeing a very soft massage to people with different body structures, as well as reducing the maintenance of the mattress.
The massage obtained can be compared to how the body feels when, lying on a littoral zone, it is massaged by the wavy movement of the sand due to the effect of the sea waves when they hit the shores.
Furthermore, the beneficent action of the massage is increased by the use of thermoregulated sand, depending on the patient's pathology.
The finding subject of the present invention attains the preset objects in that it is a massage bed comprising a support structure, at least one mattress with sand, and lastly at least one mechanism, for moving the mattress content, adapted to massage with the characteristics outlined in claim 1. These and other advantages shall be clear over the detailed description of the invention with specific reference to drawing 1/1 wherein an absolutely non-limiting preferred embodiment of the present invention is represented. In particular:
• Fig. 1, in views "a" and "b", respectively shows (Fig. Ia) a partial side view of the massage bed and of the internal mechanism while the second (Fig. Ib) shows a side view of the bed headboard;
• Fig. 2, in views "a" and "b", respectively shows a section of the side of the bed, in particular, of the movement mechanism inside the mattress.
Referring to the abovementioned figures, the massage bed according to the invention is generally indicated with 1. It comprises a support structure 2 , at least one mattress with sand 3 and at least one movement means 4, represented in Fig. 1. Said bed 1 is characterised in that said mattress with sand 3, lies on a motion transmission member 6 and it is supported by a support structure 2.
Said mattress 3 has a thickness in the range between 4 and 10 cm and it contains thermoregulated sand therein with grain-size in the range between 0.001 mm and 3mm and a plurality of staves 9 constrained parallel to each other with varying profile such as, for example, a rectangular profile.
Furthermore, said support structure 2, accommodates a movement mechanism therein provided with at least one motor 5, a motion transmission member 6 with a chain, belt or the like moved by at least two pulleys 7,7', a means 8 for transmitting movement from the motor 5 to at least one pulley 7,7'. Said transmission chain or belt 6 transports a roller 10. Said roller 10, - by means of its translation on the two pulleys 7,7', - is adapted to move the sand and the staves contained in the mattress, w according to a sequential wave motion, both clockwise and anticlockwise with variable speed. By varying the speed of the transmission member 6, a plurality of programmes are defined, depending on the pathology and its location on the body. An example of massage starts from the treatment of the lower limbs by stretching the muscles up to the cervical rachis through an increasing tension up to reaching the lumbosacral zone and decreasing from the latter up to the upper zone of the vertebral column.
Furthermore, an opposite example is characterised by a treatment with increasing tension from the upper part of the vertebral column up to the lumbosacral zone and decreasing from the latter up to the lower limbs. This type of treatment brings considerable benefits such as, for example, relieving muscle tension, soothing chronic pathologies such as arthrosis and rheumatism, as well as relaxing the person in a holistic manner. In a particular embodiment, the mattress has a thickness in the range between 5 and 6 cm of sand and it uses the sand of the sandy shore type with a grain size distribution in the range between 0.5mm and 1.2 mm. In a second embodiment, the sand is thermoregulated by means of an infrared system enhancing the already known benefits. In particular, the effect obtained is similar to a "sand bath" treatment, a therapy based on submerging the body into the sand leaving out only the head and chest. w
Obviously, the embodiment described above is only a non- limiting implementation example of the finding. The advantages of the massage bed in question are evident: first and foremost, there is the advantage of performing a very soft massage to people with different body structures; using a massage bed requiring little maintenance; performing a thermoregulated massage; and lastly, programming the massaging movement according to different pathologies.
