Abstract

The invention relates to a device for controlling airflow through an exhaust channel, comprising an opening for passing through of air and an exhaust valve for shutting off the opening, said valve having a cross-section that is larger than a cross-section of said opening. The device further comprises driving means for moving said exhaust valve in a substantially rectilinear way from a closed state to an open state and back. By using a valve that has a larger cross section than that of the opening, the valve shuts off the opening completely when being in the closed state. There will be no, or hardly any, leakage of air.
