Abstract

The invention relates to a device comprising first suspension means for suspending at least one shower curtain that forms a splash protection plane in the unfolded state, and second suspension means which extend approximately parallel to and at a distance from the first suspension means. The object of the present invention is to provide a device of the aforementioned type which, in addition to the suspension of a shower curtain, allows further possibilities of use.

The solution to this problem provides a device of the type mentioned above with the characterizing features of the main claim.

According to the invention it is provided that the device comprises an arrangement of at least two mutually spaced rods as the first and second suspension means and at least the second suspension means forming part of the device in the assembled state is pivotable about a horizontal axis.

The device can be steplessly pivotable about this horizontal axis, wherein preferably two extreme pivot positions are possible, between which a pivoting angle of 180 °. It is advantageous if this comprises at least one pivot bracket on which the pivotable part of the device with the second suspension means in a first pivot position and in a second pivot position of the device is in each case lockable. In general, these two pivot positions are chosen such that they are 180 ° apart in the pivoting movement and that then each of the two parallel rods lie in a horizontal plane.

A preferred variant of the task solution according to the invention further provides that the swivel mount which can be attached to a solid base has supports, in particular bearing surfaces or bearing edges, for locking the device in the first or in the second swivel position. This swiveling holder can furthermore preferably have an axle bearing for the rotatable mounting of the pivotable part of the device, which encompasses the second suspension means, about the horizontal pivot axis of the device. This can also be solved, for example, in such a way that there is a connecting piece or a component on the swiveling holder on which the first rod can be plugged, which does not have to rotate when the device is swiveled. Then an adapter can be pushed over the first rod, which is connected to the second rod and the pivotable part of the device. Basically, then, the first rod itself serves as a bearing for the pivotable part of the device, but with the pivot axis extending through the first rod. In a preferred solution according to the invention, the rod forming the second suspension means is provided as an approximately U-shaped bracket, with a strut running transversely in each case from a section parallel to the first rod in the direction of the first rod. Together with the first rod then results in an approximately rectangular (possibly rounded in the corners) linkage, which comprises the two serving as suspension rods, of which pivots when pivoting the device, the second rod while the first rod retains its position.

The connection of the rods of the linkage can be done for example via an adapter piece, which has nozzles over which the rods are connectable. In this way, a simple plug connection and thus a quick assembly of the linkage is possible. Such an adapter piece may for example be approximately T-shaped with at least three sockets, so that it is connected to the first rod, with the strut, which extends transversely and can be connected to the axle bearing.
