rotating wheel 76 is formed with a plurality ofspherical portions 761. Thewheel portion 741 of the secondrotating wheel 74 is formed with a plurality ofsemi-spherical grooves 742. Thespherical portions 761 of therotating wheel 76 is engaged one at a time with a respective one of thegrooves 742 of thewheel 74 when the firstrotating wheel 76 is rotated. - In this example, the driving
member 75 is in the form of a rod. The drivingmember 75 is driven and rotated by a user, so as to drive the firstrotating wheel 76 to rotate the secondrotating wheel 74 about a center axis of the secondrotating wheel 74. When the secondrotating wheel 74 rotates, thegear wheel 743 of the secondrotating wheel 74 drives thetoothed wheels 73 such that the drivingaxial portion 72 can rotate, so as to drive and rotate theroller rod 42 for winding and unwinding theroller blind pieces 43. - Referring to
Figures 3 ,4 , and5 , theroller blind pieces 43 of theroller blind unit 4 and thecurtain member 51 of thecurtain member unit 5 are respectively unwound and unfolded downwardly when thewindow 3 is covered. On the other hand, theroller blind pieces 43 of theroller blind unit 4 is wound upwardly by rotating theroller rod 42. When theroller blind pieces 43 are wound around theroller rod 42, theweighting rods 44 move upwardly to first push against the lowermost connectingmembers 62 and the lowermost insertingrod 61, and to subsequently displace the lowermost connectingmembers 62 in an upward direction. It is noted that the diameter of each of theweighting rods 44 is greater than a width of theslots 640. This process is repeated with the continued winding of theroller blind pieces 43, such that theroller blind pieces 43 are fully wound around theroller rod 42, and the shelteringportion 511 of thecurtain member 51 is eventually folded upwardly as shown inFigure 8 . - Referring to
Figures 3 ,4 , and5 , by simply removing the connectingmembers 62 from thepartitioning portions 512 of thecurtain member 51, thecurtain member 51 can be separated from theroller blind pieces 43. Subsequently, theconnector 52 can be disconnected so that thecurtain member 51 can be removed for cleaning, or for replacement with another curtain member of a different color and/or style. Theroller blind pieces 43 may also be removed for cleaning or replacement. Hence, such removal of thecurtain member 51 is very simple. Also, the overall structure of these elements is simple, ultimately resulting in a lower cost for the window blind assembly. - Referring to
Figures 3 ,5 , and7 , thetoothed wheels 73 and the secondrotating wheel 74 cooperate with the drivingaxial portion 72 to slow down a driving speed of theroller rod 42 and to enhance a torsional force of theroller rod 42 for winding theroller blind pieces 43, which can minimize the amount of force required to be exerted by the user. It is noted that the cooperation of thetoothed wheels 73, the secondrotating wheel 74, and the drivingaxial portion 72 can position theroller rod 42. That is to say, whenroller blind pieces 43 are wound around theroller rod 42, gravity acting on theroller blind pieces 43 cannot result in rotation of theroller rod 42, thereby avoiding inadvertent extension of thecurtain member 51.Figures 9 ,10 , and11 illustrate an embodiment of the window blind assembly according to the present invention. This embodiment differs from the previous example in the following aspects. - The
roller blind unit 4 further includes two auxiliaryroller blind pieces 45 and twoauxiliary weighting rods 46. A top edge of each of the auxiliaryroller blind pieces 45 is connected to theroller rod 42, and each of the auxiliaryroller blind pieces 45 is able to be wound around and extended from theroller rod 42 in a direction opposite to winding and extending of theroller blind pieces 43. Each of theauxiliary weighting rods 46 extends horizontally, and is connected to a bottom portion of a respective one of the auxiliaryroller blind pieces 45. - The
curtain member unit 5 further includes anauxiliary curtain member 54, anauxiliary connector 55, and anauxiliary flattening rod 56. - The
auxiliary curtain member 54 has an auxiliary shelteringportion 541 and a plurality ofauxiliary partitioning portions 542. A top edge of the auxiliary shelteringportion 541 is mounted at or around the upper edge of thewindow 3, and the auxiliary shelteringportion 541 is positioned rearwardly of the auxiliaryroller blind pieces 45. Theauxiliary partitioning portions 542 extend horizontally, are respectively connected to a front surface of the auxiliary shelteringportion 541, and are vertically spaced apart from each other. Each of theauxiliary partitioning portions 542 of thecurtain member unit 5 is in the form of a tube. Theauxiliary connector 55 interconnects a rear edge of thehorizontal frame 41 and the top edge of the auxiliary shelteringportion 541 of the auxiliary curtain member 54.Theauxiliary flattening rod 56 is connected horizontally to a bottom edge of theauxiliary curtain member 54, and pulls down on theauxiliary curtain member 54 to flatten the same by virtue of its weight. - The
clamping unit 6 further includes two sets of a plurality of auxiliary connectingmembers 63, theauxiliary connecting members 63 of each set thereof being associated with a respective one of the auxiliaryblind pieces 45 and respectively with theauxiliary partitioning portions 542 of theauxiliary curtain member 54. Each of the auxiliary connectingmembers 63 has an auxiliary confiningportion 632 extending horizontally, and twoauxiliary securing portions 631 connected to opposite ends of the auxiliary confiningportion 632 and that connect the auxiliary confiningportion 632 to a respective one of theauxiliary partitioning portions 542. The auxiliary confiningportion 632, theauxiliary securing portions 631, and theauxiliary partitioning portion 542 define aslot 640 thereamong for extension of a respective one of the auxiliaryroller blind pieces 45 therethrough. - Each of the auxiliary connecting
members 63 of each set of the same further has an auxiliary inserting rod 61' inserted into a respective one of theauxiliary partitioning portions 542. The auxiliary inserting rod 61' is shared between two correspondingauxiliary connecting members 63 respectively of the two sets of the same. - Each of the auxiliary confining
portions 632 is in the form of a rod. Each of theauxiliary securing portions 631 of the auxiliary connectingmember 63 is in the form of a clamp, and clamps onto the auxiliary inserting rod 61' in a respective one of theauxiliary partitioning portions 542. - Referring to
Figure 12 , when the shelteringportion 511 of thecurtain member 51 is in an unfolded state, theauxiliary sheltering portion 541 of theauxiliary curtain member 54 is in a folded state. The shelteringportion 511 can be folded upwardly by rotation of theroller rod 42 which is driven by the drivingmember 75, and, at the same time, theauxiliary sheltering portion 541 can be unfolded downwardly as shown inFigure 9 . That is to say, a moving direction of the auxiliary shelteringportion 541 is opposite that of the shelteringportion 511 when theroller blind unit 4 is manipulated. - Referring to
Figures 9 ,10 , and12 , in some embodiments, the shelteringportion 511 of thecurtain member 51 is thicker than the auxiliary shelteringportion 541 of theauxiliary curtain member 54 so that the light transmissivity of the shelteringportion 511 of thecurtain member 51 is lower than that of the auxiliary shelteringportion 541 of theauxiliary curtain member 54. Hence, darker or lighter illumination indoors may be controlled by the user. - In addition, by simply removing the connecting
members 62 and the auxiliary connectingmember 63 respectively from thepartitioning portions 512 and theauxiliary partitioning portions 542, thecurtain member 51 and theauxiliary curtain member 54 can be separated from theroller blind pieces 43 and the auxiliaryroller blind pieces 45. Next, theconnectors curtain member 51 and theauxiliary curtain member 54 can be removed for cleaning, or for replacement with other curtain members of a different color and/or style. Theroller blind pieces 43 and the auxiliaryroller blind pieces 45 may also be removed for cleaning or replacement. Hence, such removal of thecurtain members 51 and theauxiliary curtain members 54 is very simple. Also, the overall structure of these elements is simple, ultimately resulting in a lower cost for the window blind assembly of the present invention.
