Abstract

A glove for practicing skiing and similar sports, of the type having a rear extension to cover part of the forearm which, in correspondence with the upper part and externally, incorporates a watch that is fixed to and integrated in said surface by means of flaps fixed thereto, by sewing or any other conventional means. The watch is also susceptible to incorporating means or devices to display temperature, altitude and/or location or a compass substituting or complementing said watch. Both the watch and, where applicable, the compass, are externally disposed in a visible manner and with the possibility of changing the power supply battery for the proper functioning thereof.

Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a glove for practicing skiing and similar sports, such as snowboarding and, in general, sports which are practiced on snow or very cold places.
  • The object of the invention is to provide a glove which allows the user to be view the time or other parameters, such as temperature, altitude, location, etc., without having to remove or manipulate the glove.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • In the practice of sports such as skiing and other similar sports, the use of gloves is essential due to the fact that they are practiced at very low temperatures and the hands must be adequately protected, as these are used to manipulate, for example, the poles used as a support for sliding over the snow, in such a manner that the gloves are usually of significant length, covering part of the forearm as well as the hand, which obliges the user to remove the glove or open the zip they usually incorporate, etc., to look at their watch, which is uncomfortable due to the fact that the user or sportsperson must stop to perform this operation, which is usually cumbersome and detrimental to the practice of the sport itself, without dismissing the time and other drawbacks involved.
  • At times it is also inconvenient to wear a wristwatch of ordinary use, as it may be a cause of injury on becoming incrusted or breaking on the wrist during a fall.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The preconised glove, envisaged for use in the practice of skiing or other similar sports, has the peculiarity of incorporating, in correspondence with the upper and outer part, approximately level with the wrist or even before it, a wristwatch which can be digital or analogue, forming part of the glove itself and being associated therewith, allowing the user to view the time by simply placing his/her hand within sight.
  • Therefore, the aforementioned glove not only fulfils the function of protecting the user's hands from the cold when practicing sports such as skiing or other activities at low temperatures, but rather the user may view the time at any point without the need to stop or manipulate the glove itself in any manner.
  • The glove may also include, apart from the wristwatch, a compass or device that will indicate the temperature, altitude or location, or form part of the wristwatch itself, always externally visible, without need for manipulation of any kind, and which can even be viewed while practicing the sport in question.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • In order to complement this description and help to better understand the characteristics of the invention, in accordance with a preferred example of practical embodiment thereof, a set of drawings has been provided as an integral part of said description wherein the following has been represented in an illustrative and non-limiting manner:
    • Figure 1 shows a general representation of a glove envisaged for practicing skiing or other similar sports, i.e. for activities that must be carried out at low temperatures, said glove incorporating the watch in its upper part and being externally visible.
    • Figure 2 shows a sectional view of the glove with the watch, said section corresponding to an upper part or portion of said glove where the watch is disposed, adapted in such a manner that it is perfectly integrated in the glove, forming a single object.
    PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
  • As can be observed in the aforementioned figures, the glove (1) of the invention, being of the type used to practice sports such as skiing or others, i.e. which are practiced at low temperatures, and having a rear extension (2) to cover part of the user's forearm, closing by means of a zip (3) for positioning and fixation with respect to the hand, incorporates a watch (4) forming an integral part of said glove (1) on being said watch (4) fastened by means of flaps, sewn or integrated and perfectly coupled to the glove (5), conveniently fixed to the upper surface of the glove (1), as shown in figure 2, in such a manner that said watch (4) may either have other functions, in addition to marking the time, such as indicating the temperature, orientation, altitude, etc., or may be substituted for other devices, such as a compass or another device for viewing the aforementioned parameters, such as temperature, altitude and location.
  • In any case, the glove (1) has the advantage that the user may view any of the aforementioned parameters at any time, by simply positioning the upper part of the hand and therefore of the glove (1) within sight, allowing immediate viewing of the time or any other parameter, without having to manipulate the glove in any manner or naturally having to remove it or stop practicing the sports activity.
  • Finally, it must be pointed out that the power supply battery of the corresponding watch or device in question may easily be substituted within the glove itself.

Claims (4)

A glove for practicing skiing and similar sports which, being of the type having a rear extension to cover part of the user's forearm, closing and opening said rear extension by means of a zip to allow installation and removal of the glove itself with respect to the hand, characterised in that the incorporation of a watch has been envisaged in correspondence with the upper part and externally to the glove, which is fixed to and integrated in said upper surface of the glove by means of flaps fixed thereto, by sewing or any other conventional means.
  2. A glove for practicing skiing and similar sports, according to claim 1, characterised in that the watch is susceptible to having means or devices so that, in addition to the time function, it may also indicate the temperature, altitude and/or location.
  3. A glove for practicing skiing and similar sports, according to the preceding claims, characterised in that it is susceptible to incorporating and integrating a compass for substituting or complementing watch itself.
  4. A glove for practicing skiing and similar sports, according to the preceding claims, characterised in that both the watch and, where applicable, the compass, are disposed thereon in an externally visible manner and with the possibility of changing the power supply battery for the proper functioning thereof.
