Description

PRECOMPRESSED ELASTIC ELEMENT, PARTICULARLY FOR FLUID-OPERATED ACTUATORS
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a precompressed elastic element particularly for fluid-operated actuators. Background Art
As is known, fluid-operated actuators used for example for the remote actuation of valves and the like currently use precompressed elastic elements designed to perform the return stroke of pistons provided with a rack or slot link which interact with the actuation pin of the valve element.
Such precompressed elastic elements are provided in the most disparate manners and generally speaking consist of a male element and a female element, which retain a spring between them and can slide with respect to each other so as to cause the compression that makes it possible to perform the return stroke.
In German utility model DE 9314412 U, the precompressed elastic element consists of a male element and a female element, which can slide with respect to each other and are provided with flanges on which the female element operates. In the practical embodiment, the female element has a bush-like body, in which a stem of the male element can slide which has a protruding abutment rim that engages an annular rim of the bush for providing the extraction-preventing means.
To perform assembly, screw means are provided which make it possible to connect the stem of the male element, inserted in the bush-like body of the female element, to the flanged element, thus making the precompression of the spring stable.
This type of solution entails first of all the need to have several components in order to provide the male element, and the assembly step is complicated, since screwing must be provided during the step for compression of the spring.
Disclosure of the Invention
The aim of the invention is to eliminate the drawbacks noted above, by providing a precompressed elastic element particularly for fluid-operated actuators that allows monolithic provision of the male element, with the advantage of obtaining a precompression coupling of the spring that is particularly quick and easy.
Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide an elastic element that can be assembled without using screw means, further having extraction-preventing means which are particularly safe, since an action is provided which enhances clamping during extrusion of the spring.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an elastic element which, due to its particular constructive characteristics, is capable of giving the greatest assurances of reliability and safety in use. Another object of the present invention is to provide an elastic element that can be obtained easily starting from commonly commercially available elements and materials and is also competitive from a purely economic point of view.
This aim as well as these and other objects that will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by a precompressed elastic element particularly for fluid-operated actuators, according to the invention, comprising a male element and a female element which can slide with respect to each other, a spring being further provided which operates between a first flange, which is associated with said male element, and a second flange, which is associated with said female element, characterized in that it comprises means for snap coupling between said male element and said female element which form extraction-preventing means.
Brief Description of the Drawings
Further characteristics and advantages will become better apparent from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of a precompressed elastic element particularly for fluid-operated actuators, illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a schematic exploded view of a precompressed elastic element;
Figure 2 is a view of the precompressed elastic element in the assembled condition;
Figure 3 is an axial sectional view of the precompressed elastic element; Figure 4 is a schematic view of the elastic element fitted in a fluid- operated actuator.
Ways of carrying out the Invention
With reference to the figures, the precompressed elastic element particularly for fluid-operated actuators, generally designated by the reference numeral 1, comprises a male element 2 and a female element 3, which can slide with respect to each other.
The male element 2 has a stem 4 which has, at one end, a first flange 5.
The stem 4 can slide with respect to a bush-like body 6 of the female element 3, which has a second flange 7.
A spring 8 operates on a first flange 5 formed by the male element 2 and a second flange 7 formed by said female element. When the male and female elements are mutually joined, the spring is advantageously precompressed. For performing the coupling between the male element 2 and the female element 3, snap coupling means are provided which, in a preferred embodiment, consist of tabs 10, which can flex elastically in a radial direction and are formed at the end of the stem 2.
Teeth 11 are provided at the free end of the tabs 11 and have a tapering portion 12 for insertion and an engagement tooth 13 which forms, together with the stem 4, an engagement seat 14 that is frustum-shaped, with an acute apex angle.
Correspondingly, the bush-like body 6 forms an annular rim 20, which provides a complementary mating tooth 21 , which can be inserted in the annular seat 14 and has at its vertex an angle of less than 90°, so as to perform an insertion in the seat which, once assembly has been performed, makes mutual disengagement between the male element and the female element impossible.
The extraction-preventing means provided by the coupling between the annular seat and the annular abutment tooth are particularly stable, and therefore the reliability of the precompressed elastic element is always ensured.
In practice, therefore, it is possible to obtain the male element and the female element as an integral part and to perform assembly, once the spring 8 has been fitted, by providing an axial compression which allows coupling, by the radial elastic yielding of the tabs 10 on which engagement teeth 11 are provided, within the bush-like body, with subsequent impossibility of extraction due to the coupling of the annular abutment tooth in the annular seat. From what has been described above it is therefore evident that the invention achieves the proposed aim and objects, and in particular the fact is stressed that a precompressed elastic element is provided in which there is an extremely small number of component elements that allow easy and quick assembly, with absolute assurance that the parts, unless structural failures occur, cannot separate one another.
In practice, the materials used, as long as they are compatible with the specific use, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions, may be any according to requirements.
