Description

  • The present invention relates to a system for extracting a garment from a container, in particular to a system for extracting a glove from a container.
  • In particular, the invention relates to a system for extracting a garment or a covering, that can be used for people, animals or objects, from a container made specifically for containing and carrying it.
  • There are containers, preferably made of fabric, or containers made out of a deformable material which may contain protective, sporting or technical garments such as gloves, hats, coverings and soon. JP 2008 055079 discloses such a container.
  • Said gloves, hats, etc. are normally used as protective elements against rain or wind or in case of need.
  • Therefore, such garments are of a light-weight type i.e. made of a particularly suitable fabric to be used as protection against rain.
  • The containers normally used for this purpose are therefore usually very small in order to not impede the user.
  • Such containers may be placed or attached to the user's clothing and to other support elements.
  • In case of need of such garments, the container is opened and the garment is extracted. Since the containers are small, the extraction of the garment is laborious and further complicated by the fact that when these garments are needed, the weather is fouled by rain or wind.
  • The user then feels the need to have a container carrying a garment which can therefore be extracted easily and as quickly as possible.
  • The aim of the present invention is to provide a system for extracting a garment from a container that resolves the drawbacks mentioned above.
  • According to the present invention, these and further aims are achieved by a system for extracting a garment from a container according to claim 1.
  • Additional characteristics of the invention are described in the dependent claims.
  • The characteristics and advantages of the present invention will be made clear from the following detailed description of one of its practical embodiments, illustrated by way of example without limitation in the attached drawings, in which:
    • Figure 1 schematically shows a container with a garment placed inside it, seen in perspective, according to the present invention;
    • Figures 2a and 2b schematically show a container with a garment placed outside of it, seen in perspective, respectively, with the straps extended and retracted, according to the present invention;
    • Figure 3 schematically shows a container with a garment placed inside it, seen in sectional view, according to the present invention;
    • Figure 4 schematically shows a container with a garment during its extraction step, seen in sectional view, according to the present invention;
    • Figures 5a and 5b schematically show a container with a garment placed inside it, respectively seen in perspective and sectional views, according to an alternative embodiment of the present invention;
    • Figures 6a and 6b schematically show a container with a garment placed inside it, respectively seen in perspective and sectional views, according to a further alternative embodiment of the present invention;
    • Figure 7 schematically shows a container with a garment placed inside it, attached to a wrist-strap to be wearable to the wrist, according to the present invention.
  • Referring to the attached figures, a system for extracting a garment (or covering) from a container, in accordance with the present invention comprising a container 10, for example of the type having a front wall 11 and a rear wall 12 joined together at their lower end portion 13.
  • The back wall 12 comprises an extension 14 thereof, exceeding the front wall 11 in height. The extension 14 can be used as a closing means of the container, turning it forward covering the opening of the container.
  • Any means may be used in order to close the container 10. The extension 14 and the corresponding portion of the wall 11 may be equipped with Velcro, snaps, zippers and so on, for closing the container.
  • The front wall 11 and the rear wall 12 can be laterally joined together directly or by two side walls 15.
  • The material of the container 10 is for example in soft light-weight fabric or thermoplastic material for rigid or semi-rigid containers.
  • Inside the container 10 a garment is housed, for example a glove 20, in this particular case, a 5 finger glove.
  • The material of the glove 20 is for example a light-weight nylon for wind and rain protection. In case a cold-resistant glove is desired, it could be a windproof tri-laminate with a central membrane for example an outer lightweight nylon and an inner micro fleece, all having a thickness less than 3mm.
  • The back part 21 of the glove 20, or at least a portion of it and at maximum half of its length (diameter), is preferably attached, for example by stitching, in proximity of the inner upper end portion 22, of the front wall 11.
  • At the same height of the end portion 22, anyway near it, centrally and within the front wall 11, one end of a strap 25 is attached.
  • Preferably, to the container 10, near the lower inner end portion 30, of the rear wall 11, also an end of an elastic strap 26 is attached. The other end of the elastic strap 26 is attached to the strap 25, opposite to the one connected to the end 22, at the point 27. At the point 27 is preferably attached a gripping element 28, for example a portion of cloth or something different having a thickness greater than that of the straps 25 and 26.
  • The gripping element 28, is placed near the rear wall 12, particularly near and slightly above the junction point between the rear wall 12 and the extension 14.
  • Preferably, the two straps 25 and 26 are held in place by a loop 29 attached to the upper end portion and centrally to the back wall 12.
  • Preferably, the extracting system comprises a further elastic strap 23 attached on one side to the lower end portion 13, where the front wall 11 and the rear wall 12 are joined together, and on the other side to the strap 25 in its lower portion. In this way, the elastic strap 26, once the garment is extracted brings the extractor 28 back into the container, while the elastic strap 23 brings the strap 25 back into the container, placing it correctly for the subsequent re-insertion of the garment.
  • In an explanatory embodiment the container 10 is attached to a wriststrap (or wristband) 50, i.e. a strap (or similar) allowing to wear the container 10 on the wrist like a watch.
  • The strap 50 is worn on the wrist and it can be hooked on, for example, by a loop 51 into which the strap 50 may slide after embracing the wrist. Velcro 52 placed on the strap 50, can attach it in place.
  • In an alternative embodiment, the container 10 comprises a slot 30 central to the lower end portion 13, where the front wall 11 and the rear wall 12 are joined together. The container 10 comprises a peg 31 (for example a plastic stick or a string), whose end portions are attached to the rear wall 12 close to the extension 14.
  • A strap 32 is connected to the upper end portion 22, extending throughout the inside of the container 10, surrounding the peg 31, from the outside towards the inside, continues and is then led out of the slot 30.
  • Preferably, an elastic strap 33 is attached to the container 10 near the junction between the rear wall 12 and the extension 14, leading down to the bottom of the container 10 and is attached to the end portion of the strap 32 projecting out from the container 10. The gripping element 28 is attached at these end portions (straps 32 and 33).
  • In a further alternative embodiment, container 10 comprises a strap 40 attached at a point 41 of one of the two side walls 15, higher (compared to the figure) and near the container opening 10. It extends throughout the interior of the container 10 and projects from it into a slot 42 located on the other side wall 15 on top of (compared to the figure) and near the container opening 10. The projecting end portion is attached to the gripping element 28. The strap 40 can be an elastic type, or an elastic strap, not shown, can be connected to the strap 40 in a similar manner to the other embodiments. It further preferably comprises the elastic strap 43 attached on one side to the lower end portion 13 of the container 10, and on the other side to the strap 40 in its lower portion.
  • The operation of the device according to the invention is evident from what is described and illustrated, and in particular, is essentially the following.
  • The strap 25 is positioned within the container 10 so that it lies within it, in order to run along the entire inner surface (length) of the container 10, winding the glove 20, and the gripping means 28 is then made to project. If loop 20 is present, it will already be positioned.
  • The garment is inserted in the container 10 laying it on top of the strap 25. In the case of the glove 20 partially attached to the container itself, it must be folded and inserted.
  • In the embodiments shown in Figures 5 and 6, the operations are similar to those described.
  • The strap must almost completely wind the glove 20 except for its upper part (referring to the figures) and however in its part towards the opening of container 10. In this way when the gripping element 28 is pulled, it pushes the glove 20 out of the container 10. If the elastic strap 26 is present the extractor strap 25 automatically returns to its resting position, facilitating the operations of accommodation of the glove after its use, and at the same time preventing any disturbance or bother to the user. If the elastic strap 23 is also present, the extractor strap 25 repositions itself in an even more correct way in the bottom of the container 10.
  • The attachment of the glove 20 to container 10 is executed when the wrist band 50 is laterally attached to the container 10. Once the glove is extracted it is possible to insert the hand, since the glove is attached only partially to the container.
  • Otherwise, when the glove or other garments (such as a rain-proof cap) that can be inserted into the container 10, are not attached, the container can be attached to certain articles of clothing or to a belt.
  • The container is closed if extension 14 of the rear wall 12 is present.
  • In case of need of extraction of the glove 20, the container is opened (or if no closure is present it is promptly ready), the gripping element 28 is grasped and pulled.
  • The strap 25 extends along its entire length and pushes the glove 20 out of the container.
  • If the elastic strap 26 is present, during the extracting step, it also extends and follows the extension of the strap 25, but at complete extension the elasticity of the strap 26 allows it to return to its normal size and therefore repositions also the strap 25 that would otherwise be free.
  • The length of the elastic strap is such that the strap 25 can be extended to its full length without major efforts.
  • If the loop 29 (and the elastic strap) is present everything is naturally repositioned and ready for the new insertion of the glove 20.
  • The present invention applies particularly, for example, in the case of wanting to bring along a lightweight but waterproof glove to be used in case of bad weather, therefore everything must be small, in particular, the container must be small, attachable or carried without being bothersome and in case of need, the glove can be quickly extracted.
  • The materials used for the container and for the glove or garments placed in the container, as well as the dimensions, can be any according to requirements and to the state of the art.
  • Also the shape of the container can be as varied and appropriate as necessary, for example based on which garment type it is to be applied or to what use it must serve.
  • One can imagine for example a container specifically designed to be attached to trekking poles, containing gloves, caps and so on.
  • The contained garment is usually free and can be completely extracted but for example in the case of gloves and in the case of using a wrist band, the glove may be partially attached to the container itself.
  • The system for extracting a garment from a container thus conceived is susceptible to numerous modifications and variants, all falling within the inventive concept; therefore all details are replaceable by technically equivalent elements.
