Abstract

Systems and methods for surface treatment machines with a supplemental drive for rotation of a drum rotor generally include a drive train with a drive motor to operate a drum rotor of the surface treatment machine at a first rotational velocity and a service motor integral to a drive pulley that may rotate the drum rotor at a second rotational velocity; the surface treatment machine may include a freewheeling device or be otherwise capable of activating, engaging, or disengaging either the drive motor or the service motor, or both, so that power output from only one of the drive motor and the service motor is rotationally driving the drum rotor.
