Description

The present invention generally relates to a portable object comprising a housing on which is fixed a bracelet in the form of two bracelet strands.

ARRIERE PLAN TECHNOLOGIQUEBACKGROUND TECHNOLOGY

It is known in the prior art that the wristwatches are attached to the wrist of the user via a leather strap, rubber or metal, said bracelet being composed of two bracelet strands. The case of the watch then comprises two pairs of horns diametrically opposite one another. The two bracelet strands are then attached to the watch case via the two pairs of horns. The two strands of bracelet are attached to each other through a clasp to attach the wristwatch to the wrist of the user.

However, a disadvantage of this type of bracelet is the little freedom available to adjust the length. Indeed, the metal bracelets are formed of links that are removed or added to adjust the length of said bracelet. As the links have a fixed size, adjustment to the right size of the wrist is not always possible. In the case of leather or rubber bracelets, these are pierced with holes so that a barb can slide in. However, the number of holes is limited if we do not want to weaken the bracelet. Indeed, too many holes would mean a small gap between each hole and therefore a greater fragility of the bracelet at this level. However, if the space between two holes breaks, the holes become unusable. There is no way to finely adjust the length of the bracelet which can be inconvenient for the user.

Another disadvantage of these bracelets is that their length can not be adjusted according to the environment and in particular according to the temperature. Indeed, it has been shown that the physiognomy of a person's body can vary according to the environment in which it is located. One of the elements of the environment that has consequences on human physiognomy is temperature. Thus, a person's limbs tend to contract when the person feels cold and, conversely, the person's limbs tend to expand when that person feels a sensation of warmth. As a result, the wrist of the wearer expands or contracts as a function of temperature, which means that wrist diameter varies with temperature. However, if in the case of a leather or rubber strap, it is possible to tighten or loosen the bracelet, this is not the case for a metal bracelet. The size of the bracelet does not adjust according to the temperature.

We end up with a bracelet that, at room temperature, will be adjusted to the size of the wrist of the user but will be too long when the user will be cold and will be too short when the user will be hot, causing a uncomfortable.

Un object portable de l'art antérieur c'est connu par le document EP-A1-1.588.640 A portable object of the prior art is known from the document EP-A1-1.588.640

RESUME DE L'INVENTIONSUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a portable object that overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art by providing a portable object whose length of the bracelet can be finely adjusted and which adapts to changes in human physiognomy as a function of temperature.

For this purpose, the invention relates to the portable object cited above which is characterized in that at least one of the strands of the bracelet is mounted slidably movable relative to the housing so that the length of the bracelet can be adjusted.

A first advantage of the portable object according to the present invention is that it allows a simple modification of the length of the bracelet. Indeed, from the moment when at least one of the strands of the bracelet is able to move slidably relative to the housing, it is possible for the user to vary the length of the bracelet without having to remove said portable object from his wrist.

Des modes de réalisation avantageux de l'objet portable font l'objet des revendications dépendantes 2 à 14.Advantageous embodiments of the portable object are the subject of dependent claims 2 to 14.

A first advantage of these embodiments is to allow adjustment of the length of the bracelet depending on the temperature. Indeed, the portable object comprises a control unit which controls the sliding of at least one strap strand relative to the portable object. This control unit may comprise a temperature sensor. This temperature sensor will control the adjustment of the length of the bracelet according to the measured temperature, allowing the bracelet to lengthen when the temperature will increase compared to a set temperature, and shorten when the temperature decreases compared to a temperature. conservation temperature.

A second advantage is the flexibility of the system. Indeed, if the adjustment system can be automatic because controlled by the temperature, it can be expected that the adjustment is controlled by the user. In this case, the adjustment system becomes useful for a finer adjustment of the size of the bracelet.

  • mesurer la température ;
  • comparer la température mesurée à un seuil supérieur de température et à un seuil inférieur de température;
The present invention also relates to two methods of adjusting the bracelet of a portable object having as steps:
  • measure the temperature;
  • compare the measured temperature to a higher temperature threshold and a lower temperature threshold;
  • enlarge the length of the bracelet if the measured temperature is higher than the upper threshold or decrease the length of the bracelet if the measured temperature is lower than the lower threshold.

These methods are characterized respectively by the fact that the bracelet is returned to an initial position when the measured temperature goes back below the upper threshold or above lower threshold or by the fact that the bracelet is returned to an initial position when the temperature measured reaches a reference threshold.

DESCRIPTION DETAILLEEDETAILED DESCRIPTION

In the following description, all parts of the portable object that are well known to those skilled in the art will only be explained in a simplified manner.

The figure 1 schematically represents a partial view of the portable object 1 according to the present invention. This portable object 1 can be a watch or any other device worn on the wrist such as a heart rate monitor, pedometer or other. This portable object 1 comprises a housing 2 in which the constituent elements of the watch are installed. This portable object 1 is attached to the wrist of the user through a bracelet consisting of two strands of bracelet 3. The strands of bracelet 3 are fixed to the housing 2 via horns 4 and are connected to the one to another via a pin-type clasp or folding clasp. Of course, it will be understood that the bracelet may consist only of a single strand 3 attached to the housing 2 by each of its ends, said bracelet being of the flexible type.

These strands of bracelet 3 may be steel, rubber or leather for example. In the case of strands of steel bracelet 3, a clasp type folding clasp is used and the adjustment of the bracelet is done by adding or removing links of said bracelet strands 3. In the case of strands of leather bracelet 3 or rubber, the adjustment is made by holes made in one of the strands 3.

However, in this case, the bracelet can not be adjusted to the wrist of the user optimally. In order to remedy this problem, the present invention proposes the following solution.

In a first embodiment, it is provided that the horns 4 are slidably mounted in the housing 2. The latter then comprises orifices 9 whose dimensions are such that they allow said horns 4 to be inserted and slide. These horns 4 are in the form of a longitudinal element of the parallelepipedic type, each horn 4 comprising means allowing the strands of bracelet 3 to be fixed on said horns 4. Each horn 4 further comprises a toothing 8 at the level of its end being inside the housing 2. This toothing 8 is used to cooperate with a gear 7. This toothing 8 is of a length allowing the desired amplitude of adjustment, the latter being for example about 5mm. Of course, we will understand that this amplitude is not limiting and it is up to the manufacturer to determine the amplitude of adjustment himself.

This gear 7 makes it possible, when it is rotated about its longitudinal axis in a positive direction, to put the horn 4 in motion via the toothing 8 so that the horn 4 moves towards the inside of the casing 2. Conversely when the gear 7 is rotated about its longitudinal axis in a negative direction, the horn 4 starts moving through the toothing 8 so that the horn 4 moves towards the outside of the housing 2. Preferably, the horns 4 are equipped with stop means for limiting the displacement of the horns 4 so that the gears 7 always cooperate with the teeth 8. It is conceivable that the stop means are in the form of projections arranged on the horns, for example at their ends.

Each gear 7 is then actuated by an electric motor 6 via a transmission axis 10. The portable object 1 further comprises a control unit 5 which allows the control of the motors 6. In effect, this control unit 5 is capable of send signals to the motors 6 so as to control the direction of rotation of the motors 6 and therefore of the gears 7.

In order for the user to adjust the size of the bracelet of the portable object 1 to the size of his wrist, the portable object comprises, as shown in FIG. figure 1 , interface means 61 accessible from the outside by the user. According to the example of the figure 1 , the interface means comprise two push-buttons 62, 63, the first 62 of which allows the horns 4 to move towards the inside of the casing 2 and the second 63 allows the horns 4 to move towards the outside of the casing 2, these push buttons 62, 63 being connected to the control unit 5 via connection wires. Thus, when one or other of the buttons 62, 63 is pressed, an electrical signal is sent to the control unit 5 which will then control the motors 6 of the horns 4.

According to a second embodiment of the present invention, it is provided that the bracelet can adapt to the temperature in order to follow the fluctuations of the wrist size of the user as a function of temperature. To do this, the control unit 5 comprises at least one temperature sensor which may be of the piezoelectric type or the like.

The temperature sensor is then used to measure a temperature value which will be sent to said control unit 5. This control unit 5 will then control the movement of the horns 4, according to a defined control program, according to this information of temperature.

According to a first operating principle, the control program implemented in the control unit 5 uses steps. This principle of operation, shown in Figs 7a, 7b and 7c, is simple and low in energy consumption. For this, the program defines different levels, at least three, to control the variation of the length of the bracelet. The first step called TempCons corresponds to a set temperature. The second stage is called TempMin and is the temperature at which wrist size decreases due to contraction of the body in response to cold. The third step is called TempMax and is the temperature at which wrist size increases because of the body's expansion in response to heat. For example, it can be defined that the TempCons bearing has a value of 20 ° C, the TempMin bearing has a value of 10 ° C and the TempMax bearing has a value of 30 ° C.

Thus, at temperature TempCons, the portable object 1 is in a normal position as shown in FIG. figure 7b . The horns 4 are then slightly out so that they can be moved either towards the housing or in the reverse direction.

When the temperature increases, when the temperature sensor measures that the temperature reaches the TempMax value, the control unit 5 then acts by controlling the adjustment of the strands 3 of the bracelet. The horns 4 on which are attached these bracelet strands 3 are then set in motion in a direction that goes out of the housing 2 as on the Figure 7c . The length of the bracelet is then increased according to a predefined variation.

Indeed, it is considered that the circumference of the wrist of a person varies from 5mm between the case where the wrist is contracted and the state where the wrist is dilated. Which means globally that between the TempCons temperature value and the TempMax value, the wrist circumference varies by 2.5mm. This variation is then the same between the TempCons temperature value and the TempMin value. However, since the variation is effected by movement of the two bracelet strands 3, it is considered that the movement of each bracelet strand 3 is then 1.25mm. Of course, it can be expected that a single strand of bracelet 3 moves and in this case, the latter must be able to move in the entirety of the defined range of motion.

On the contrary, when the temperature decreases, at the moment when the temperature sensor measures that the temperature is lower than TempMin, the control unit 5 acts by controlling the adjustment of the strands 3 of the bracelet. The horns 4 on which these bracelet strands 3 are attached are then moved in a direction that goes inwardly of the housing 2 as shown in FIG. figure 7a .

Regarding the transitions between TempMax temperature and TempMin temperature, two cases occur.

In a first case, it is considered that the bracelet returns to its initial shape when the temperature measured by the sensor is in the temperature range between TempMin and TempMax where these two temperatures TempMin and TempMax are excluded. Thus, as soon as the temperature drops below TempMax or rises above TempMin, the control unit 5 acts on the horns 4 so that they can return to their initial position.

In a second case, the return to the initial position of the figure 7b is when the measured temperature reaches the TempCons value. Thus, if the temperature is above TempMax, the horns 4 will return to their original position only when the temperature drops to reach the TempCons threshold. Similarly, if the temperature is below TempMin, the horns 4 will return to their original position only when the temperature increases to reach TempCons. This mode of operation proves to be very efficient and less energy intensive because the small temperature variations due to the passage from one place to another such as the passage from a place exposed to the sun to a shaded place do not cause the variation. the size of the bracelet. Of course, it will be understood that intermediate thresholds can be integrated so that the variation of the size of the bracelet is more progressive.

According to a second operating principle, it is expected that the adjustment of the size of the bracelet is carried out continuously. For this, a value chart is stored in the portable object 1. This chart contains the information of variation of the size of the bracelet according to the temperature. This then allows a continuous adjustment of the size of the bracelet depending on the temperature. Of course, the abacus comprising the information of variation of the size of the bracelet as a function of temperature is not fixed and can be adapted to have a number of setting positions higher or lower.

It will be understood that the function of adjusting the size of the wristband to that of the wrist of the user depending on the temperature is an independent function. Thus, this function can be added to that allowing fine adjustment of the size of the bracelet at the request of the user. It can be provided that said portable object 1 includes only this function of adjusting the size of the bracelet as a function of temperature.

In a first variant of one or other of the two embodiments of the present invention shown in FIG. figure 3 , it is expected that the horns 4 attached to the same strand of bracelet 3 are integral with one another. As a result, the horns 4 attached to the same strand of bracelet 3 then take the form of a U-shaped piece 41. This U-shaped piece 41 allows the horns 4 which hold the same strand of bracelet 3 to be always exactly in the same shape. position relative to each other. This prevents one horn 4 from advancing more than the other and disrupts alignment by causing damage. The teeth 8 cooperating with the gears 7 are located on each of the parallel branches forming said U-shaped part 41.

In a second variant of one or other of the two embodiments of the present invention shown in FIGS. Figures 4, 5 and 6 the horns 4 which hold a bracelet strand 3 are in the form of a U-shaped piece 42 whose base 43 comprises a projecting element 44 in order to give the piece 42 a tuning fork shape. This element 44 takes the form of a rod extending either out of the housing 2 as on the figure 5 either towards the inside of the casing 2 as on the figures 4 and 6 . This element 44 is then used to support the teeth 8.

In a first alternative of this second variant, the element 44 comprises two teeth 8, these two teeth cooperating each with a gear 7 and a motor 6.

In a second alternative of this second variant, the element 44 comprises a toothing 8 cooperating with a gear 7 and a motor 6. There is therefore a single motor for driving a pair of horns 4. This alternative makes it possible to reduce the number of motors 6 in the housing 2 and therefore, to reduce the consumption of electrical energy and reduce the space taken by the system.

It will be understood that various modifications and / or improvements and / or combinations obvious to those skilled in the art can be made to the various embodiments of the invention described above without departing from the scope of the invention defined by the appended claims.

It will be understood that the portable object 1 may comprise two temperature sensors, the temperature value used for adjusting the length of the bracelet being the average of the temperatures measured by these two sensors.
