Description
Mischungen von Organopolysiloxan-Copolymeren Mixtures of organopolysiloxane copolymers
The invention relates to transparent mixtures containing organopolysiloxane copolymers and their use.
The properties of organic thermoplastics and silicone elastomers are broadly complementary. Organic thermoplastics are characterized by their excellent mechanical strength, elasticity and ease of processing by extrusion from the melt.
Daneben besitzen sie spezielle wasserabweisende und antihaftende Oberflächeneigenschaften .Silicone elastomers, on the other hand, have excellent transparency as well as temperature, UV and weathering stability. They maintain their elastic properties at lower temperatures and therefore do not tend to embrittle. In addition, they have special water-repellent and non-stick surface properties.
Herkömmliche Polysiloxane werden für Elastomere, Dichtungen, Kleb- und Dichtstoffe oder Antihaftbeschichtungen in Form thixotroper Pasten angewendet. Um die gewünschtenConventional polysiloxanes are used for elastomers, gaskets, adhesives and sealants or non-stick coatings in the form of thixotropic pastes. To the desired
To achieve ultimate strengths, different curing routes of the masses were developed, with the aim of consolidating the desired structures and adjusting the mechanical properties. In most cases, however, the polymers must be blended by the addition of reinforcing additives, such as fumed silicas to achieve sufficient mechanical properties, this usually takes place at the expense of transparency. In the case of curing systems, a distinction is essentially made between high temperature vulcanizing systems (HTV) and room temperature vulcanizing systems (RTV). The RTV compounds have both single (IK) and two-component (2K) systems. In the 2K systems, the two components are mixed and thus catalytically activated and cured. The curing mechanism and the required catalyst can thereby be different. Curing is usually carried out by peroxidic crosslinking, by hydrosilylation by means of platinum catalysis or, for example, by condensation reactions. Although such 2K systems have very long pot lives, but to achieve optimum properties, the mixing ratios of both components must be strictly adhered to, which leads to an increased equipment complexity in processing. 1K systems also cure by peroxide crosslinking, by hydrosilylation by platinum catalysis, or by condensation reactions, for example. Here, however, either an additional processing step is required for compounding the crosslinking catalyst or the masses have only a limited pot life. However, all these systems have in common that the products are insoluble after processing and, for example, can no longer be recycled.
Daher sollte die Kombination von Segmenten thermoplastischer Elastomere und Silicon-Polymeren Materialien mit guten mechanischen Eigenschaften zugänglich machen, die sich zugleich durch eine gegenüber den Siliconen stark vereinfachtenTherefore, the combination of segments of thermoplastic elastomers and silicone polymers should make materials with good mechanical properties accessible, which at the same time are greatly simplified compared to silicones
Processing options characterize, however, continue to possess the positive properties of the silicones. The combination of the advantages of both systems can therefore lead to compounds with low glass transition temperatures, low surface energies, above all improved transparency, low water absorption and physiologically inert materials.
Da aber diese hoch-transparenten Eigenschaften bei verschiedenen Anwendungen vor allem im Außenbereich vonExamples of such materials are known from EP 0250248, EP 822951, WO 07075317, which are based essentially on the incorporation of diamino siloxanes into organic polymers. These polymers are indeed characterized by good thermoplastic processing and good transparency. A disadvantage of these polymer systems, however, is the still partially insufficient resistance to UV light, in particular in the range <350 nm, which is due to the introduction of organic Components in the inorganic silicone is caused. However, these organic components are also responsible for the yellowing phenomena observed with these polymers depending on the storage conditions. In addition, especially for materials with relatively low molecular weights, the problem arises here that the end groups can also lead to turbidity or yellowing of the materials by oxidative degradation processes. But since these highly-transparent properties in various applications, especially in the outdoor area of
Were looking for ways to obtain light-stable, colorless, transparent compositions. In WO2007 / 079028, structurally similar compounds mention the use of stabilizers in silicone-organo-copolymers.
However, it turned out that the general use of e.g. Light stabilizers is not a suitable way to produce highly transparent stabilized systems, since the commonly used stabilizers show only insufficient miscibility with the Silixon copolymers and thus lead to strong turbidity due to segregation.
The object of the invention is to improve the state of the art, in particular to provide polymers which are transparent and have thermal and optical stability.
Surprisingly, however, it has been found that there are organic stabilizers which have such a compatibility with the claimed copolymers that the resulting copolymer / stabilizer mixtures on the one hand have the desired thermal and optical stability, but on the other hand still an extremely high Show transparency. In addition, the polymer must be structurally changed, especially in the case of polymers having relatively low molecular weights, by the incorporation of further additives, or by the targeted influencing of the chemical base, such that per se there is only a very low tendency to yellow in the non-stabilized material. This is preferably done by targeted derivatization of the chain ends.

Wesentlich dabei ist, dass für die gewählte Polymermischung unter den Reaktionsbedingungen eine optimale und homogene Durchmischung der Bestandteile erfolgt und eineThe preparation of the above-described copolymers of the general formula (1) can be carried out both in solution and in solid substance, continuously or discontinuously. It is essential that for the selected polymer mixture under the reaction conditions, an optimal and homogeneous mixing of the components takes place and a
Phase incompatibility is optionally prevented by solubilizers. The preparation depends on the solvent used. If the proportion of hard segments such as urethane or urea units is large, it may be necessary to choose a solvent having a high solubility parameter such as dimethylacetamide. For most syntheses, THF has proven to be sufficiently well suited. Preferably, all ingredients are dissolved in an inert solvent. Particularly preferred is a synthesis without solvent. For the reaction without solvent, the homogenization of the mixture is of crucial importance in the reaction. Furthermore, the polymerization can also be controlled by the choice of the reaction sequence in a step synthesis.
For better reproducibility, it should generally be produced with the exclusion of moisture and under protective gas, usually nitrogen or argon.
The reaction preferably takes place, as usual in the preparation of polyurethanes, by adding a catalyst. It appears that the addition of monofunctional silicone oils limits the molecular weight downwards. Weathering yellowing can be effectively achieved by reducing the level of free amines. At the same time it was surprisingly found that by reducing the content of free amines, the reduction in molecular weight during weathering can be limited.
