Description

Description
A COOLING DEVICE
[0001] The present invention relates to a cooling device comprising a balance weight that prevents the cooling device from toppling down when the door is opened.
[0002] In cooling devices, when the door, loaded excessively with items, is opened, the weight of the door cannot be balanced and the problem of the toppling down of the cooling device is encountered. In order to solve the problem, balance weights produced of materials such as concrete are disposed onto the base of the back side of the cooling device. Balance weight is generally disposed into the compartment, wherein components such as compressor, condenser, evaporation container and fan are situated. Since the said compartment is formed by reducing the inner volume of the cooling device, the volume of the compartment is intended to be reduced.
[0003] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooling device, wherein the volume of the compartment containing the components such as compressor, condenser, evaporation container and fan, is effectively used.
[0004] The cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is explicated in the attached claims. In the cooling device of the present invention, a chamber, wherein the defrost water is collected, is located on the balance weight. The balance weight is preferably produced of concrete. Since no other container for collecting the defrost water is used, costs are decreased. Thus, the volume of the compartment wherein the balance weight is situated is reduced.
[0005] The balance weight extends transversely to the body in the compartment. Since the chamber extends along the balance weight, the evaporation area is increased.
[0006] The cooling device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
[0007] Figure 1 - is the rear perspective view of a cooling device when the door is open. [0008] Figure 2 - is the perspective view of the compartment.
[0009] The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
1. Cooling device
2. Body
3. Door
4. Compartment
5. Platform
6. Balance weight
7. Chamber
[0010] The cooling device (1) of the present invention comprises a body (2), a door (3), an evaporator, a compartment (4) disposed at the back side of the body (2) base outside the cooling volume, a platform (5) disposed inside the compartment (4) and a balance weight (6) disposed on the platform (5), preventing the cooling device from toppling down when the door (3) is opened (Figure 1).
[0011] Components such as compressor, condenser and fan can be disposed inside the compartment (4).
[0012] The balance weight (6) comprises a chamber (7), wherein the water generated during defrost in the evaporator is collected. In addition to its own function, the balance weight (6) furthermore performs the function of the evaporation container.
[0013] In an embodiment of the present invention, the balance weight (6) is produced of concrete. Therefore, walls of the chamber (7) are also of concrete. Since additives, which will increase the water permeability of the concrete, are added to the concrete while the balance weight (6) is produced, the absorbed water is carried to the outer wall and evaporation from the exterior surface is also provided, in addition to the evaporation of water. In this embodiment, the chamber (7) is integrated to the balance weight (6). Thus, a separate container, wherein the defrost water is collected, is not required any more.
[0014] The length of the balance weight (6) is almost equal to the width of the body (2); extending longitudinally in the compartment (4). Thus, the chamber (7) is provided to extend along the balance weight (6) and the evaporation is provided to be accelerated by increasing the evaporation surface. [0015] In another embodiment of the present invention, the chamber (7) can be detached from the balance weight (6). Thus, the chamber (7) is enabled to be detached from the balance weight (6) for a reason such as being cleaned. [0016] By means of the cooling device (1) of the present invention, with a single piece, that is with the balance weight (6), both balancing by serving as a counter-weight when the door (3) is opened and by means of the chamber
(7), evaporation of the defrost water is provided.
