Definitions
- the invention relates to a generator switch arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1. Such arrangements are used in power plants for producing a separable connection of generators to the electrical network.
- Commonly known generator switch assemblies include a single SF 6 switch. Such arrangements can switch as short-circuit currents up to about 210kA at rated voltages up to about 30kV. Increasingly, however, higher switching capacities are required, in particular for switching off even higher short-circuit currents, which can not be achieved with such generator switch arrangements.
- a generator switch arrangement with a secondary current path in which approximately a semiconductor switch made up of turn-off thyristors and a PTC resistor are connected in series is out of order EP 1 014 403 A1 known.
- EP 1 098 332 A2 shows a similar arrangement. Because of the limited switching power of the semiconductor switches, however, only short-circuit currents of a few tens of kA can be handled with such generator switch arrangements.
- the invention is based on the object to provide a generic generator switch arrangement, with the very high short-circuit currents, preferably of more than 210kA, can be handled at rated voltages of up to 36kV.
- the generator switch assembly has a main current path 1, in which a main switch 2 is located and a secondary current path 3, in which in series a generator side arranged damping resistor 4 and a sub-switch 5 are.

- the main switch 2 is designed as a closed SF 6 switch, ie as a SF 6 switch with a closed gas volume with a rated current contact arrangement and a burn-off contact arrangement parallel thereto. It may be a switch of the type HEC 7, HEC 8 or HECS ABB. These switches can break short-circuit currents of 140-160kA at a rated voltage of up to 30kV or 161-190kA at 27.5kV and 191-210kA at 25.2kV. The rated current at 50Hz mains frequency is 24kA, 28kA or 18kA. The switches come with pressures of about 6 bar and therefore require no large drives and no compressors.

It can be about a vacuum switch, eg VE1 of the ABB, the short-circuit currents of up to 31.5kA can switch off at a rated voltage of 36kV. It is also possible to use another encapsulated SF 6 switch, eg ABB's HD4, which can handle short-circuit currents of up to 50kA with a nominal voltage of up to 40.5kV. The rated current contact arrangement provided with this switch can be omitted. Again, the eligible switch only low requirements in terms of drive and maintenance. In general, sub-switches are switches with rated voltages between 20kV and 42kV and rated currents between 2.5kA and 3.6kA, capable of handling maximum short-circuit currents between 30kA and 50kA.
- the damping resistor 4 must be able to absorb a relatively high power.
- it is formed as a wire resistor, which consists of a plurality of parallel resistance wires of a refractory material. Its resistance value can be between 0.1 ⁇ and 10 ⁇ . It is preferably between 1 ⁇ and 5 ⁇ .
- the main switch 2 In a shutdown, especially in the event of a short circuit, the main switch 2 is first opened, wherein the current commutes when opening the rated current contact arrangement on the Abbrandpfad with the Abbrandcardan ever. In the separation of the Abbrand tokene an arc is drawn between them, which increases the voltage drop in the main current path 1 and causes a predominant commutation of the Maustrom path 3, which has a reduction of the current in the main current path 1 result, which deletes the arc in the main current path 1 between allowed the burn-off contacts at the next current zero crossing. After extinguishing the arc in the main current path, the current is thus completely commutated to the secondary current path 3.
- the contact arrangement of the sub-switch 5 is opened.
- the damping resistor 4 limited after the extinguishment of the arc in the main switch 2 under high power consumption, the short-circuit current, so that the same can be safely switched off by the relatively small sub-switch 5.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a generator switch arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1. Such arrangements are used in power plants for producing a separable connection of generators to the electrical network.
Commonly known generator switch assemblies include a single SF 6 switch. Such arrangements can switch as short-circuit currents up to about 210kA at rated voltages up to about 30kV. Increasingly, however, higher switching capacities are required, in particular for switching off even higher short-circuit currents, which can not be achieved with such generator switch arrangements.
The invention is based on the object to provide a generic generator switch arrangement, with the very high short-circuit currents, preferably of more than 210kA, can be handled at rated voltages of up to 36kV.
This object is solved by the features in the characterizing part of claim 1. With the generator circuit breaker arrangement according to the invention, short-circuit currents of up to approximately 250 kA at up to 36 kV nominal voltage can be handled when using today available components. The inventive generator switch assembly is also simple with a closed gas volume and requires no additional units such as compressors. Despite the high switching capacity, it comes with a relatively small drive. It requires little maintenance.
- Fig. 1
- Fig. 1
- shows schematically the basic structure of the inventive generator switch assembly.
The generator switch assembly has a main current path 1, in which a
The
The sub-switch 5 need not have a rated current contact arrangement.
Vorzugsweise beträgt er zwischen 1Ω und 5Ω.The damping resistor 4 must be able to absorb a relatively high power. Preferably, it is formed as a wire resistor, which consists of a plurality of parallel resistance wires of a refractory material. Its resistance value can be between 0.1Ω and 10Ω. It is preferably between 1Ω and 5Ω.
In a shutdown, especially in the event of a short circuit, the
Between 15ms and 30ms, usually about 20ms after opening the Abbrandkontaktanordnung the
In this way, short-circuit currents up to 250kA can be switched off at nominal voltages up to about 36 kV with the described generator switch arrangement, whereby even the highest current requirements are met.
