Claims (6)

  1. An arrangement for automatically cleaning and/or disinfecting objects which comprises:
    a) an apparatus for automatically cleaning and/or disinfecting objects which comprises a plurality of connections for reservoirs (1, 2) for consumables;
    b) a plurality of reservoirs (1, 2) for consumables, each reservoir (1, 2) for consumables being provided with at least one RFID tag (9, 10) on which is stored at least information for identifying the consumable stored therein; characterised in that the apparatus
    c) comprises RFID readers (11, 12) assigned to the respective connections (3, 4) for reservoirs (1, 2) for consumables, wherein the RFID readers (11, 12) are configured to read the at least one RFID tag (9, 1C) of the reservoir (1, 2) for consumables connected to the corresponding connection,
    d) comprises storage locations for reservoirs (1, 2) for consumables assigned to the connections (3, 4) for the reservoirs (1, 2) for consumables,
    e) comprises a memory means (14, 15) for saving consumables or containers for consumables suitable for operation and a device (14) which only permits an operating program to go ahead once each RFID reader (11, 12) assigned to the connections (3, 4) for reservoirs (1, 2) for consumables has identified the connected reservoirs (1, 2) for consumables as being suitable for carrying out the corresponding operating program.
  2. An arrangement according to claim 1, characterised in that the apparatus for automatically cleaning and/or disinfecting objects is a dishwasher or CIP system.
  3. An arrangement according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the memory means (14, 15) may be updated by the operator of the apparatus or preferably over a data communications link by the supplier of the reservoirs for consumables.
  4. An arrangement according to claim 3, characterised in that the RFID tag or tags (9, 10) additionally comprise(s) information regarding the expiry date of the consumable and in that the RFID reader (11, 12) assigned to the connection for reservoirs (1, 2) for consumables reads out said expiry dates and only permits the operating program to go ahead if the expiry dates have not passed.
  5. An arrangement according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the apparatus for automatically cleaning and/or disinfecting objects comprises a memory means (15) for logging the operating history of the apparatus including the consumables which have been used.
  6. A method for automatically cleaning and/or disinfecting objects using an arrangement according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised by the following steps:
    a) connecting one or more reservoirs (1, 2) for consumables to the connections (3, 4) for reservoirs for consumables;
    b) placing the objects in the apparatus for automatically cleaning and/or disinfecting objects;
    reading information out from the RFID tags (9, 10) of the at least one reservoir (1, 2) for consumables;
    c) checking that the information read out in step c) identifies the consumables suitable for the intended operating program;
    d) starting the operating program once the check in step d) has been carried out successfully.
