Dargestellt ist als Beispiel für ein Wasser führendes Haushaltsgerät eine Haushalts- Geschirrspülmaschine 2, die einen Spülraum 4 aufweist, indem zwei Geschirrkörbe 6 übereinander angeordnet sind. Um in den Geschirrkörben 6 abgelegtes Geschirr mit Spülflotte zu beaufschlagen ist unterhalb der beiden Geschirrkörbe 6 je ein drehbarer Sprüharm 8 angeordnet, die über ein Leitungssystem (nicht dargestellt) der Haushalts- Geschirrspülmaschine 2 mit Spülflotte versorgt werden. Unterhalb des Spülraumes 4 weist die Haushalts-Geschirrspülmaschine 2 eine Bodenwanne 10 auf, in der neben der Umwälzpumpe 12 eine Reinigungsmitteleinspeisevorrichtung 18 angeordnet ist, die es erlaubt, die während des Betriebs durch die Umwälzpumpe 12 umgewälzte Spülflotte Reinigungsmittel, insbesondere flüssige oder auch gelförmige einzuspeisen. Zur Bevorratung der Reinigungsmittel weist die Reinigungsmitteleinspeisevorrichtung ein Reservoir 16 auf, das eine Vielzahl von Kammern (nicht dargestellt) aufweist und es daher erlaubt, verschiedene Reinigungsmittel mit unterschiedlichen Funktionen aufzunehmen. Dies können z.B. sein Alkaliträger, z.B. Lauge, Komplexier- und Dispergierstoffe; z.B. Polymäre; Enzyme wie Amylase, Protease oder Lipase; Bleichmittel, z.B. Wasserstoffperoxid; Bleichaktivator und Tenside wie z.B. nichtionische Tenside. Ferner können auch biozydwirkende Flüssigkeiten bevorratet werden, wie z.B. Biozyde gegen Bakterien (Bakterizide), gegen Pilze (Fungizide), gegen Keime (Mikrobiozyde), gegen Viren (Virozyde) und auch gegen Algen (Algizide) die unangenehme Geruchsentwicklung durch z.B. Biofilmbildung während längerer Standzeiten unterbinden.
