- the vomit is held in the bib body (1), which is closed laterally using the supplementary locking means (7 and 8) in order to prevent lateral spills, and subsequently releasing the holding means (3) from the front seat (5) and wrapping the bib towards the child, and then releasing the holding means (2) from the child (4) and continuing with the wrapping of the bib (1) with its contents, that is, the vomit and the liquid which has been absorbed by the material which constitutes the bib, thus obtaining a compact package which can be discarded in any container or kept in a bag to be discarded subsequently, in case of traveling, for example, in an automobile.

Abstract
Description
- This invention refers to a bib for receiving the vomit of a child, the evident purpose of which is to prevent the uncontrolled vomit of a child from spilling.
- The bib is preferably and fundamentally designed for its application inside a transport vehicle, be it an airplane, train, ship or automobile, as long as the child sits on a seat in front of which another seat must exist in order to allow for the bib to be held between the child and the front seat.
- As it is well known, sometimes children of small age traveling on any means of transportation (automobile, airplane, ship or train) vomit due to dizziness or other causes. Considering that children, because of their lack of sufficient awareness as to warn a grown-up of the first symptoms of dizziness or that he/she is about to vomit, and also because of not being able to use a conventional bag each time they feel these vomiting symptoms, the fact is that the vomiting occurs uncontrollably with the corresponding spilling on the surroundings of the child, thus staining seats, floor, etc.
- The bib being described has been conceived to solve the problem exposed above, based on a simple yet very effective solution: the invention has the peculiarity of being oversized, and on its rear and front ends it has means of holding it to the neck of the child and to the front seat of the vehicle, behind which the child is seated, all of this in such a way that the aforementioned oversized bib constitutes a receiving means of a vomit, in case it is produced, without causing any spilling.
- To achieve a proper collection of the vomit without any spills, the bib has on its sides supplementary locking means so that once the vomit is produced, they can be buttoned up and constitute a kind of container which prevents lateral spilling of the vomit, and once this operation has been completed, it will suffice to release the holding means from the front seat and wrap the bib containing the vomit until reaching the central area, and then release the other end of the bib held from the neck of the child and continue wrapping or rolling the bib containing the vomit until constituting a compact pack which can be discarded in any trash bin or stored for subsequent discarding.
- The body of the bib shall be made of a material with a high absorption degree, able to hold the liquid of the vomit.
- Another feature presented by the bib corresponding to this invention are longitudinal and transversal folding lines so when it is not in use, it can be folded and stored for another occasion, since the bib is designed to be used during a trip and for that purpose it shall be held between the neck of the child and the front seat, able to receive the vomit should it be produced, and should it not be produced, the bib can be used again, since it is clean, and this is the reason why the folding means have been included, which enable to fold the bib for a minimum use of space so it can be stored in any place for a subsequent use.
- Evidently, the measures shall be appropriate so that they allow holding between the front seat of a vehicle and the neck of a child who sits on the rear seat, with enough width so as to receive the vomit without any lateral spills, and assisting to this end is the locking produced with the lateral locking means, once the vomit has been produced.
- To supplement the description which will be presented, and with the purpose of achieving a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, in accordance with a preferred example of practical embodiment, and as an integral part of the description, a series of drawings are included in which the following has been represented, constituting an illustration but not a limitation:
-
Figure 1 - Shows a plan view of the spread out bib, embodied in compliance with the object of the invention. -
Figure 2 - Shows a plan view of the practical application of the bib represented in the previous figure, showing how it is held between the neck of a child who is located on a seat and the corresponding front seat. -
Figure 3 - Shows a schematic side representation of the practical application shown in the previous figure, presenting the bib constituting a sort of receptacle on which the vomit which the child may produce shall fall, without any spills to the sides and to the floor. - As can be seen in the aforementioned figures, the bib corresponding to the invention comprises a body made of a material with a high absorption degree, referenced generally with the number (1), which although may have any contour shape, shall preferably be rectangular with the ending segments presenting a progressive narrowing towards the aforementioned ends, where holding means (2 and 3) have been included. The body (1) of the bib shall be oversized, in order to enable holding during its use, via the means (2), to the neck of the child (4) and, via the elements (3), to the front seat (5) of a vehicle, assuming that the child (4) is seated on a seat (6) located behind the aforementioned seat (5).
- Additionally, the bib shall present on its sides supplementary locking means (7 and 8), and folding lines, (9) have been included both transversally and' longitudinally, which allow for the folding of the bib (1) when it is not in use, and to be stored for subsequent use.
- The bib, thus constituted, shall be held, as has already been mentioned, between the neck of the child (4) and the front seat (5) in respect to the seat (6) where the child is seated, thus constituting a sort of concave bridge which can receive a child vomit (4) during a trip, in any kind of transportation means used, as long as there is a seat in front of the seat on which the child sits.
- In the event of the child vomiting, the vomit is held in the bib body (1), which is closed laterally using the supplementary locking means (7 and 8) in order to prevent lateral spills, and subsequently releasing the holding means (3) from the front seat (5) and wrapping the bib towards the child, and then releasing the holding means (2) from the child (4) and continuing with the wrapping of the bib (1) with its contents, that is, the vomit and the liquid which has been absorbed by the material which constitutes the bib, thus obtaining a compact package which can be discarded in any container or kept in a bag to be discarded subsequently, in case of traveling, for example, in an automobile.
Claims (3)
- Bib for receiving the vomit of a child, designed for its use during trips on any transportation means, automobile, airplane, or even ship, as long as there is a seat in front of the seat where the child is sitting; characterized because it is constituted by a body (1) which is oversized, made of a material possessing a high degree of absorption of liquids, body (1) which has on its intermediate means (2 and 3) for holding to the neck of the child (4) and to the front seat (5), behind which the child sits on his/her seat (6), thus establishing a sort of concave container able to receive the vomit of the child (4) without it spilling from the body (1), to which purpose some supplementary locking means (7 and 8) contribute, included on the sides of the aforementioned bib body (1), which are closed after the vomit has been produced.
- Bib for receiving the vomit of a child, according to Claim 1, characterized because the bib body (1) is preferably rectangular and its ending segments are progressively narrowed towards the ends, where the holding means (2 and 3) to the neck of the child (4) and to the corresponding front seat (5) are established.
- Bib for receiving the vomit of a child, according to the previous claims, characterized because the body (1) is provided with transversal and longitudinal folding lines (9) which allow for the folding of the aforementioned bib body (1) when it is not in use, for its storage and its use in a subsequent occasion.
