Abstract
A stationary exerciser includes two handles pivotally coupled to a column of a base and each having an upwardly extended hand grip and an outwardly extended arm, two foot supports each having a rear portion moveable in a reciprocating action relative to the base and a front portion coupled to the arms of the handles with coupling devices, and two links pivotally coupled between the lower portions of the handles and the foot supports for maintaining the arms and the handles and the foot supports in position and for allowing the arms and the foot supports to be moved in a curved moving stroke relative to the base and for allowing the moving stroke of the foot supports to be adjusted.
Description
- The invention relates to a stationary exerciser.
- Typical stationary exercisers comprise two foot supports to be moved in an elliptical moving stroke. However, the front ends of the foot supports may not be moved up and down relative to the base.
- The invention to provide a stationary exerciser including a front portion movable up and down in a reciprocating action.
-
FIGS. 1 ,2 are perspective views of a stationary exerciser; -
FIG. 3 is a side plan view of the stationary exerciser; -
FIGS. 4 ,5 are partial exploded views of the exerciser; and -
FIG. 6 is a rear perspective view showing the other exerciser. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-5 , a stationary exerciser 1 comprises acolumn 11 extended from abase 10 for supporting aspindle 12, twohandles 20 each include an upper ormiddle portion 21 attached to thespindle 12 with abarrel 22, ahand grip 23 and anarm 24 extended from the upper ormiddle portion 21. Two foot supports 30 each include afront portion 31 coupled to thearm 24 with acoupling device 40 which includes ashank 41 engaged into thearms 24 and having one ormore orifices 42 for engaging with afastener 43 that may adjustably secure theshank 41 to thearm 24, astem 44 coupled to the free orouter end 45 of theshank 41 and having one or more apertures 46 (FIG. 5 ), and atube 47 coupled to thefront portion 31 of thefoot support 30 and having abore 48 for slidably receiving thestem 44 and for coupling to thearm 24. - Another
fastener 49 may engage with theapertures 46 of thetube 47 for adjustably securing thestem 44 to thetube 47 and for adjustably securing thetube 47 and thefoot support 30 to thearm 24 of thehandle 20. Theshank 41 may be adjustably secured to thearm 24, and/or thestem 44 may be adjustably secured to thetube 47 and thefoot support 30 such that the moving stroke of thefoot support 30 relative to thebase 10 may be adjusted. Alink 32 has oneend 33 coupled to the middle or lower portion of thefoot support 30, and theother end 34 coupled to thelower portion 25 of thehandle 20 with ajoint 26 for maintaining thearm 24 and thehandle 20 and thecoupling device 40 and thefoot support 30 in position. Thefoot support 30 includes an opening 35 formed in thefront portion 31 for receiving theother end 34 of thelink 32, thelink 32 may also be disposed beside the foot support 30 (FIG. 6 ) without engaging theother end 34 through the opening 35 of thefoot support 30. - Two
cranks 50 are attached to apost 13 at therear portion 14 of thebase 10 with anaxle 15, and each include arod 51 spaced from theaxle 15 for coupling to therear portion 36 of thefoot support 30 and for allowing the foot supports 30 to be moved in an elliptical moving stroke. The foot supports 30 each include afoot pedal 37 to be stepped by the users. Awheel 60 is attached to theaxle 15, arotary member 61 is attached to the middle orrear portion 14 or astud 16 of thebase 10 with ashaft 62 and coupled to thewheel 60 with a coupling device orbelt 63 for resisting thewheel 60 and theaxle 15 and thecranks 50. Therear portions 36 of thefoot supports 30 may be coupled to therear portion 14 of thebase 10 with other coupling devices 70 (FIG. 6 ).
