Abstract
Es wird eine Glühstiftkerze mit einem Gehäuse (11) vorgeschlagen, in dessen Längsbohrung (12) ein Glühstift (13) festgelegt ist. Der Glühstift (13) weist ein an seinem brennraumseitigen Ende (15) verschlossenes Glührohr (14) auf, in dessen Innenraum sich ein in axialer Richtung erstreckendes, in ein Isoliermaterial (18) eingebettetes Widerstandselement (17) als Heizeinrichtung befindet. Das Widerstandselement (17) weist mindestens eine Verbindungsstelle (30) auf, die eine Schmelzsicherung für den elektrischen Stromkreis ausbildet. Die Verbindungsstelle (30) ist aus einem schmelzfähigen Material (33) ausgeführt, wobei die Schmelztemperatur des schmelzfähigen Materials (33) unterhalb der Schmelztemperatur des Materials des Glührohrs (14) liegt.
