Es lässt sich während dieses Prozesses (Wärmebehandlung) nicht vermeiden, dass einzelne schmelzbare Fasern, welche sich an der Oberfläche des Vlieses befinden, mit dem Transportband, auf dem sie liegen und in Kontakt gelangen, verbinden. Diese, wenn auch kleinen Verbindungsbrücken zwischen Vlies- und Transportband führen dazu, dass am Ende der Wärmebehandlung, d.h. am Ausgang des Bonding-Ofens Teile des Vlieses vom Band mitgerissen werden, da sie mit diesem verklebt sind. Dies führt einerseits zur Verschmutzung des Bandes mit thermoplastischen Fasern und andererseits einer Qualitätsminderung des Vlieses, da von diesem an gewissen Teilen Vliesfetzen aus der Oberfläche herausgerissen worden sind. In einem durch ein Rechteck schematisch dargestellten Bonding-Ofen 1 bekannter Bauart ist mindestens ein Transportband 3, vorzugsweise ein aus gitterartigem Material hergestelltes Band, ersichtlich. Dieses wird um mehrere Umlenkrollen 5 geführt, wobei die Umlenkrollen 5 sich ausserhalb des Bonding-Ofens, zumindest aber ausserhalb einer im Bonding-Ofen 1 angeordneten Wärmezone 7 befinden. Die Wärmezone 7 kann eine Anzahl von Düsen umfassen, durch welche heisse Luft durch das Transportband 3 hindurch zu einem Vliesmaterial 9 und durch dieses hindurchgeführt wird. Vorzugsweise findet oberhalb des Vliesmaterials 9, wo ein zusätzliches Transportband 3 angeordnet sein kann, eine Absaugung durch geeignet angeordnete Absaugdüsen statt. Die Beaufschlagung mit heisser Luft kann auch sektionsweise von oben nach unten und unten nach oben erfolgen (keine Darstellung). Eingangsseitig und/oder ausgangsseitig der Wärmezone 7, vorzugsweise beabstandet zu dieser, ist unterhalb des Transportbandes 3 eine geeignete Wärmequelle 11 angeordnet.
