Description

  • Subject of the invention is a handle, particularly a window handle, consisting of a body with covered fixing screw holes, and a hand grip set in it.
  • DE 1272158B presents a handle fixture in which the body fixing the handle to the door frame or the window frame has the shape of a flat longitudinal rectangular prism with a protruding bearing part in its center, serving to set the handle into it. On both sides of the bearing part, on flat sections of the body, are provided holes for the threaded fasteners fixing the body to the frame of the door or window. On both flat endings, the transverse surfaces, which are perpendicular to the base of the body and its longer side, are made with cavities close to the base on the whole width, serving to fix covers shielding the flat parts of the body with holes for the threaded fasteners. Each cover has the shape of a prism open on the side of the shielded body; the transverse wall of the cover facing the cover being provided with a bent aiming at the protected body, which acts as a catch. Additionally, each of the longitudinal walls of the cover has at its free end a round hole, and the body has at that place a round pin, mating with the hole as a snap joint.
  • The handle according to the invention consists of a hand grip and a body with two masking covers. The body is provided with holes for the pin of the hand grip and for the fixing screws, usually arranged along the longer axis of the body. The masking covers are slid on the body from two sides, covering the whole surface of the body or only the parts with the fixing screws.
  • According to the invention, the body is provided on the external longitudinal surface with at least two longitudinal recesses and each masking cover is provided on its inside with at least one longitudinal guiding lip, lengthwise in relation to the body, the guiding lips mating with the recesses, while the body is provided on its longer side walls, at the base, with cuts and the walls of the cover with parallel edges are provided with catches on their inner surface, the catches mating with the cuts. The cuts are located close to the symmetry axis of the body and the catches are located at the free ends of the covers close to the base.
  • The body has a central part with a hole for the hand grip and two side parts with holes for fixing screws, the central part being higher and wider on both sides than the side parts, and the base of the body lies on one plane.
  • The handle according the invention is shown in examples of execution on the drawings, in which Fig. 1 and 2 show the handle with covers partly shielding the body with guiding lips at the base, presenting the exploded view from the body base side and from grip side (according execution example I), Fig. 3 shows the side view of the grip separately, Fig. 4 and 5 show the handle with covers shielding the whole surface of the body, having the guiding lips at the base, seen in exploded views from the side of the body base and the side of hand grip (according execution example II), Fig. 6 presents the side view of the hand grip separately, and Fig. 7 and 8 show the handle with the covers partly covering the body, having the guiding lips on the inner surface of the upper wall, in exploded views from the side of the base of the body and from the side of the hand grip (according execution example III).
  • Example I
  • The window handle consists of the hand grip 1 with the pin 2, the body 3 and two symmetrical masking covers 4.
  • The body 3 has a central part 3a and two symmetrical side parts 3b, the central part 3a being higher and wider on both sides than the side parts 3b, and the base of the body 3 lies on one plane. In the central part 3a is a hole 5 for the pin 2 of the hand grip 1, and on the side parts 3b there are holes 6 for the fixing screws. At the base of the longitudinal, external walls of the parts 3b are provided longitudinal recesses 7, with cuts 7a close to the central part 3a. The spacing and bearing sleeve 8 is set in the hole 5.
  • The inside of the masking covers 4 are at their inside copying the form of the side parts 3b of the body 3, and at their base, along the inner surface of the side walls with parallel edges, they have guiding lips 9, with catches 9a at their free end. The guiding lips 9 mate with the recesses 7, and the catches 9a snap into the cuts 7a.
  • The hand grip 1 is being set through the spacer 10 in the hole 5 fitted with the sleeve 8 and is fixed by the washer 11.
  • Upon fixing the body 3 with the hand grip 1 on the window sash frame, the side parts 3b are being shielded by the covers 4, which are guided by their guiding lips 9 along the recesses 7 to the position where the catches 9a snap in the cuts 7a.
  • Example II
  • The window handle consists of the hand grip 1 with the pin 2, the body 3, and two symmetrical masking covers 4.
  • The hole 5 for the pin 2 of the hand grip 1 is located at the center of the length of the body 3 and on both sides of it are the holes 6 for the fixing screws. At the base of the longitudinal external side walls of the body 3 there are recesses 7 with cuts 7a, close to the hole 5. The spacing and bearing sleeve 8 is set in the hole 5.
  • The inside of the masking covers 4 are copying the form of the side parts 3b of the parts of the body 3, and at their base, along the inner surface of the side walls with parallel edges, they have guiding lips 9 with catches 9a at their free end. The guiding lips 9 mate with the recesses 7, and the catches 9a snap into the cuts 7a. The covers 4 have semicircular edge 12 of their upper wall.
Upon pushing the covers 4 on the body 3, the edges 12 grasp the spacer 10 together with the pin 2 of the hand grip 1.
  • Example III
  • The window handle consists of the hand grip 1 with the pin 2, the body 3, and two symmetrical masking covers 4.
  • The body 3 has a central part 3a and two symmetrical side parts 3b, the central part 3a being higher and wider on both sides than the side parts 3b, and the base of the body 3 lies on one plane. In the central part 3a there is a hole 5 for the pin 2 of the hand grip 1, and on the side parts 3b there are holes 6 for the fixing screws. In the upper wall of both side parts 3b, between the shorter side of the body 3 and the hole 5, recesses 7 are provided, the cross-section of which has the form of a dovetail. At the base of the longitudinal external walls of the parts 3b, close to the central part 3a, there are cuts 7a. The spacing and sliding sleeve 8 is set in the hole 5.
  • The inside of the masking covers 4 are copying the form of the side parts 3b of the shielded body 3, and on the inner side of their upper wall they are provided with the guiding lip 9. The parallel walls of the covers 4 are at their inner provided with catches 9a located at the free ends, close to the base.
  • The guiding lips 9 mate with the recesses 7, and the catches 9a snap into the cuts 7a.
