Description

The present invention relates to a centrifuge rotor device consisting of a centrifuge rotor and a lid for closing a centrifuge rotor, as this example from US-A-200400188928 is known.

Centrifuges are devices with which containers can be exposed to centrifugal force. In the laboratory, for example, suspensions in test tubes can be treated to deposit the suspended solid at the bottom of the test tube. Centrifuges usually have a rotary drive with a vertical drive shaft on which a rotor can be placed. Fans are usually provided in the rotor, into which containers which are to be centrifuged can be inserted. Often the rotors of the centrifuge are interchangeable to centrifuge vial contents in one of the rotors, while other rotors are first loaded with containers or can be prepared with further centrifuged containers for further processing.

For example, because test tubes are inserted openly into the rotors on the top side, among other things, it serves to ensure the reliability of keeping the containers in a liquid-tight space during centrifugation in the rotor. On the other hand, this space should be as accessible as possible for easy loading. Because in the laboratory in particular often performed several actions at the same time and the centrifuges still need to be carefully closed, it is particularly advantageous to be able to use devices with as few hand movements, with as little actuation movement and possibly with only one hand reliable. In this regard, known centrifuges are in need of improvement.

The present invention has for its object to provide a lid for closing a centrifuge rotor, the handling is simplified.

This object is achieved by a centrifuge rotor device having the features of claim 1. Preferred embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

According to the invention, a centrifuge rotor device consisting of a centrifuge rotor and a lid for closing a centrifuge rotor is characterized by a movement thread with a pitch angle, which is selected such that, after pre-positioning on the centrifuge rotor, the lid is automatically guided by the weight of the lid into a closed position in the thread rotates (locking mechanism). As a preferred embodiment, a closure mechanism of the device according to the invention acoustically indicates the closed end position of the lid on the centrifuge rotor, in particular by means of a snapping or clicking sound.

For example, a lid according to the invention may be rotationally symmetrical about a substantially vertical axis, preferably the axis of rotation of the rotor, and (similar to a cooking pot lid with central knob) have a central handle knob, with which the lid can be placed on the rotor from above. If, for example, the closure mechanism is a movement thread with a sufficiently large pitch angle, the lid can automatically rotate into a closed position in the thread after pre-positioning at the entrance of the thread by the weight of the lid. Preferably, the locking mechanism comprises a locking of the fully closed position of the lid - for example at the end of the thread. In this way, it is sufficient in this embodiment of the invention, the cover with one hand on the handle knob from above on the rotor vorzupositionieren, then let go, so that it rotates downwards in an almost closed position, and finally on the same handle knob still a few degrees continue to turn so that the lid is then locked in a liquid-tight closed position.

The lock can be positive, for example, by the lid before locking on its seals, which cause the tightness, and for example against the rubber-elastic deformability then comes to rest form-fitting manner via a Arretierungsabsatz with a pin in a Arretierungshinterschnitt.

These and other features of the invention and their possible embodiments will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

In FIG. 1 a centrifuge rotor 2 can be seen, above which a lid 4 is shown, as it is placed by a hand (not shown) of a user on the centrifuge rotor 2. The centrifuge rotor 2 has a row evenly on the rotor periphery Distributed holes or compartments 6, while test tubes (not shown) can be stuck obliquely outward oriented down. The rotor is rotationally symmetrical overall about a vertical axis 8 and has in the center a vertical, central bore 9 , through which the rotor 2 can be attached to a centrifuge drive shaft (not shown) for centrifuging.

The compartments 6 for test tubes are accessible through a large circular opening 10 in the upper side of the rotor 2 . They are located on the radial outer wall of a cup-shaped space 11 which extends in a ring around a central hub 12 .

In the hub 12 , the bore 9 is arranged for a centrifuge rotor drive shaft on the underside. Upwards, the hub 12 protrudes out of the opening 10 to a certain extent circular cylindrical and forms an essential element of a closure mechanism 14 of the lid 4: The lid 4, which is circular in plan view, has a circular-cylindrical upwardly protruding handle knob 16 at its upper side, which is hollow on the underside , so to speak, has the shape of a mug or hat. For example, gripped from above, can the knob 16 with the cover 4 in total put on the upper end 18 of the hub 12 and so pre-position. Without further rotational movement, the lid 4 falls vertically downwardly with the cup-shaped knob 16 over the upper end 18 of the hub 12 due to its own weight along the vertical axis 8 until three threaded studs 20 projecting radially inwardly into the cup-shaped knob , which evenly the periphery of the interior 22 of the cup-shaped knob 16 are distributed to come to rest on the upper edge of the upper end 18 of the hub 12 .

Thus prepositioned, the lid 4 slips down due to its own weight along the vertical axis 8 down and is thereby offset by a three-start thread 24 in a rotary movement in a clockwise direction. The three-start thread 24 in the hub 12 is particularly good in the spatial view of FIG. 4 recognizable. The three-threaded thread 24 facing FIG. 4 extends in the form of three helical grooves 24 on the circumference of the hub 12 spirally downwards. The grooves 24 have such a width that the threaded pin 20 in the interior of the cup-shaped knob 16 out, but without clamping, can run in it. Thus, the lid 4 moves automatically by its own weight, rotating about the vertical axis 8 , down until its O-ring seal 26 (bottom side at the extreme edge of the lid) comes to rest on the upper edge of the rotor opening 10 . This position of the lid 4 on the rotor 2 is in FIG. 2 recognizable.

Only in this position, the user must for the final liquid-tight closing of the lid 4 on the rotor 2, the knob 16 again (top side of the lid) grab and turn by a few degrees to lock the cover 4 on the rotor 2 : Because again looking up FIG. 4 It can be seen that as a locking mechanism, the grooves 24 of the three-start thread have a locking position 27 for the threaded pin 20 behind a shoulder 28 at its lower end. By active further rotation of the lid 4, guided by its threaded pin 20 in the threads 24 now overcome the threaded pin 20 paragraphs or "humps" 28 against the bias of the rubber-elastic seal 26 which is pressed liquid-tight in a sealing groove 30 at the outer edge of the rotor opening 10 , Behind the bosses 28 , the threaded pins 20 are then positively locked in the locking positions 27 at the end of the threads 24th
