Abstract
Closing component of flap valve, especially of a reflux valve, as one of typical elements of water armatures, consists of a flap, equipped with an arm, firmly connected with axis, where the flap has a round plate (1), ended on side (2) of the valve seat hole with a truncated cone, having base diameter smaller than plate (1) diameter. Plate (1) has on the other side (3) a protrusion (4) with port (5), which is parallel to axis (6), furthermore the outer surfaces of plate (1) are covered with an elastic material layer (7) enabling thus (1), outside plate outline, to be an arm (8) connected firmly to the middle part (9) of axis (6).
Description
Closing component of flap valve, especially of a reflux valve.
The closing component of flap valve, especially of a reflux valve, being element of water installation armatures, used in industrial water and non-corrosive liquid networks, is the subject matter of the invention.
Reflux flap valves, including hinged closing components, shaped as single-arm flap rotating around axis, which is situated outside flow section of the body and is parallel to the plane of valve seat, are already known. Flap valves, presented in the British Patent no. 1339536 and in the Russian Invention Description no. 505845, have conical tightening surfaces. Also a Polish Invention Application P 289057 deals with a reflux flap valve having body, inside which a tightening ring is fixed. The ring is mating with a hinged flap, moving inside the above mentioned body. A lid covers this body, inside which the hinged flap is fixed at an adapter. The adapter is placed on a bolt, using a special clamp fixing it with respect to flap axis. A version of valve, described in Polish Patent no. 164962, comprising a cylindrical body, with seat closed by a flap, rotationally and inseparably connected with body, is known as well. In this solution the flap is situated eccentrically with respect to the body symmetry axis and is shaped as a truncated cone, where the plane, rectangular to outer flap surface and coinciding with its edge, is inclined at an angle of 1 - 3 degrees.
The present invention relates to a simple closing component of reflux flap valve, characteristic because of a longer period of use and a longer period between subsequent servicings.
According to the invention the round plate at the valve seat hole is ended with a truncated cone, having base diameter smaller than the plate diameter. Simultaneously the other side of the plate has a spline with port which is parallel to its axis. On the contrary the outer surfaces of the plate are covered with elastic material, consisting outside plate an arm connected firmly to the central part of axis. The ends of axis are shaped as truncated cones and are divergent with respect to themselves. Angle α between the generating line of cone and the rotation axis equals a few degrees.
An example of the device, according to the invention, is shown in:
Figure 1 presents the front view of closing component, as seen from the valve seat side;
Figure 2 presents the rear view of the closing component, seen from the other side of the valve seat; Figure 3 presents a side view of the closing component;
Figure 4 presents the cross section A-A of the closing component; Figure 5 presents the longitudinal cross section B-B of the closing component.
The closing component has a round plate 1 , ended on side 2 with a truncated cone, the base diameter of which is smaller than plate diameter 1. The plate 1 has a spline 4 with port 5, parallel to axis 6. The outer surfaces of plate 1 are covered with an elastic material layer 7, being result of fusion.
Layer 7 has an increased cross section outside plate outline and becomes the arm 8, the end of which is connected firmly with central part 9 of axis 6, for example by fusion. Ends 10 of axis 6 have the form of truncated cones, are divergent with respect to themselves and are equipped with bearings. Angle α between the generating line of cone and the rotation axis takes values from 1 to 8 degrees.
Thanks to the fact that the closing component is covered with elastic material layer 7, the seat of valve hole has flat surfaces, not requiring gaskets or rings, and the flap is not rigidly but only rotationally, at conical surfaces, connected with body. These surfaces are mating with the valve body seat which is opened from above and is fixing the flap axis. Axis 6 of the flap is supported at its ends 10, so the impurities appearing during use can be washed out by the medium flow, thus eliminating or limiting fouling effects at sliding surfaces at the body seat and enabling pendulous movements of the closing component, which are caused by the flowing medium during the whole period of use of the valve. The valve is opened if the flow direction coincides with deflection of the closing component and it is closed if the flow direction becomes opposite. Furthermore the arm 8 of plate 1 of the closing component, controlling medium flow, is also made of the same elastic material 7 enabling thus a close contact between plate and the circumference surface of the valve seat during use.
