  • the elements can be also used as anchoring devices by construction of anti-flood protection barriers.
  • the elements may also serve as a protection of pillars of bridges on watercourses.
  • the elements can be used as individual pieces or assembled units to stiffen a ground for permanent or temporary buildings.
  • the once applied units can be later, when being no more needed, dismantled, removed and stored for next applications.
  • the elements present no problem for the environment ecology.
  • the elements allow for very versatile applications, they can be easily manipulated without any heavy machinery. Due to its construction the element offers long life-time and resistance against wear and weather conditions.
  • Fig. 1 presents a front view on the constructional element having four legs and Fig. 2 shows a ground view on the element according to Fig. 1.
  • Fig. 3 presents an axonometric view on a foot of each leg of the element.
  • the constructional element preferably made of concrete, comprise a discshaped central part 1 equipped with four legs 2 extending outwards substantially radially.
  • the central part 1 and the legs 2 are furnished with integral internal reinforcement.
  • the reinforcement is not shown on the drawings as its construction is irrelevant as far as the subject of the invention is concerned.
  • All the legs 2 have their longitudinal axis arranged in a plane extending collateral with a face surface 3 of the central part 1.
  • the central part 1 is completed with a side recess 4 extending inwardly from the central part 1 periphery between two adjacent legs 2 as far as a transversal axis 5 of the central part 1, i.e. up to a half of the central part 1 depth within a location of the recess 4.
  • transversal direction is to be understood as the direction perpendicular to the face surface 3 of the central part 1.
  • a longitudinal axis 6 of the side recess 4 intersects the transversal axis 5 of the central part 1 Width of the side recess 4 corresponds to a thickness of the central part 1.
  • the central part 1 is further provided with two passages.
  • the first passage 8 has its longitudinal axis ⁇ a running parallel to the transversal axis 5 of the central part 1 and intersecting the longitudinal axis 6 of the side recess 4, while the second passage 7, running sideways, across the side recess 4, has a longitudinal axis 7a which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 6 of the side recess 4 and located in a plane being perpendicular to the transversal axis 5 of the central part 1.
  • the central part i is at least partially furnished with a metal jacket 9, preferably of steel, which is fixed to the internal reinforcement.
  • the jacket completely covers inside walls of the recess 4 and both face surfaces of the central part 1 throughout an area larger than the recess width.
  • the jacket of the central part 1 face surface fits to the face surface of this part.
  • each of the four legs 2 ends with a metal foot IfJ having a sagittate shape.
  • the foot base H has its both mutually opposed face endsl3 bend in such a way, that their outside surfaces are flash with the face surface of the respective leg 2 and the cross-section of the foot base H has a shape of a square U letter.
  • anchor plate 12 From the foot base H, in the direction of adjacent leg 2, there extends an anchor plate 12, which is substantially perpendicular to the face surface of the central part 1.
  • both rims of the free edges H constitute tips which are to provide for better grip of the elements on a site.
  • the free edge 14 of the anchor plate 12 may have any concave shape.
  • the anchor plate 12 is reinforced with at least two wedge-shaped ribs. In the embodiment presented in the drawings there are used two lateral ribs 15 and one central rib 16, dividing the foot K) in two parts.
  • the anchor plate 12 is provided with an aperture 17, allowing for a drain of water out of the foot IQ when the element is installed in an open-air area.
  • the foot 10 which is preferably manufactured as a unit welded from flat parts such as the base H, the anchor plate 12 and the ribs 15,16, has its base JM fixed to the internal reinforcement of the legs 2 and the central part 1. Due to its design, especially by tips of the anchor plate 12 and pockets created in spaces between the plate 12 and the ribs 15,16 the feet 10 prevent free displacement of the element in a horizontal direction and its sinking deep into a ground which could result from the element own mass.
  • Each leg 12 is completed with at least one assembly hole 18, the axis of may be, but not necessarily, parallel to the transversal axis 5 of the central part 1.
  • the assembly hole 18 is lined with a metal sleeve which is fixed to the internal reinforcement of the element thus increasing rigidity of the leg 2.
  • the recess 4 facilitates mounting of a basic set comprising two elements fastened together. Two elements facing each other by the recesses 4 with transversal axis 5 being mutually turned by 90° are coupled by inserting the central part 1 of one element into the recess 4 of the other element. The assembly is then secured by a rod plugged into the second passage 7 of the second element. The rod continues through the first passage 8 of the first element and ends in the continuation of the second passage 7 of the second element.
  • the overall width of the recess 4, incl. the jacket shall be at least as wide as the total thickness of the central part 1, also incl. the jacket. Nevertheless the recess width should allow for easy mounting of sets.
  • the element assemblies can be prepared by direct coupling of two elements as described above, or in a way when two adjacent elements are coupled by spikes inserted into assembly holes 18 in the legs 2.
  • the second passage 7 and assembly holes 18 also serve for manual manipulation with the elements, when a steel rod inserted into the passage or the hole provide for a grip for the workers.
  • the element may have more than just four legs 2, as described above.
  • Number of legs 2 depends upon particular application. For military purposes, for construction of barriers four legs offer an optimal solution. Particularly for barriers the above described basic set, comprising two mutually anchored elements should find its basic application. Such an assembly representing arrangement of elements into two mutually perpendicular planes manifests good stability and resistance against front impact.
  • the present invention is designed for military applications, but offers very wide range of application in the field of civil engineering, especially for creation of temporary constructions, e.g. anti-flood protecting barriers.
