Abstract

Sensors (100, 150, 170, 200) provided, measure vibrations directly or indirectly, at right angles to the roller axis (20). A sensor(100) measures vibratory velocity and/or acceleration. The machine frame (12) of the winder includes sections (14) to which sensors (100, 150) are fitted. These have high- and low rigidities, at right angles to the roller axis. The sensors are located on or near frame components having low rigidity. The winder has a clamp (28) for the full roll, with a sensor (170) on or near it. An independent claim IS INCLUDED FOR the corresponding unwinding method.
