Thecloth 25 covers at least one area of the substratum C that extends 0,5 m perpendicularly out from thebody 2 and follows the length L2/L1 of the body or device. Depending on the quality, properties and not the least the weight of the cloth, thedevice 1 may be provided with a greater or smaller number ofretention devices 3 arranged at a selected distance from each other so that thecloth 25 reliably is retained in the desired location over thebody 2. Thecloth 25 should be flexible in the construction thereof so that it can shape itself according to thebody 2 and according to the substratum (C). - It happens occasionally that liquids, for instance water, stream and flow and find ways that are undesirable and that simply have to be blocked. It may be water existing naturally in our water courses that for some reason flows over the space available and finds a new way, for instance upon ice melting and heavy rain periods. It may also be water or other liquids that escape from a space available in the form of a petrol truck or the like and flows away. It may also be water or other liquids that is accumulated and begins to flow a non-desired way, for instance in dump grounds or the like. The liquids may be both harmless and dangerous, poisonous. In the text below, with the word "liquid", all types of liquids that can move by flowing will be referred to.
- A
device 1 according to the invention may also be used for holding a liquid E of the type mentioned above within a desirable area B or blocking the motion of the liquid to an undesired area A. Thedevice 1 may be used for discontinuing the advance of the liquid by using thedevice 1 as a direct obstacle or for guiding the liquid in the desired direction by using the device as a lateral guiding. Thedevice 1 may also be used directly around things that are desired to protect from the liquid, for instance constructions of different types, seeFig. 9 . - A
device 1 that should be used for this purpose is provided with acloth 25 according to the above where thecloth 25 is impermeable to water. Thecloth 25 may be a thin plastic foil. - A
device 1 comprising acloth 25 also comprises a force-load part 26 that is put onto the part of thecloth 25 that lies on the substratum C. The force-load part 26 has the purpose of holding down thecloth 25 and holding it in place both in relation to thesubstratum 25 and in relation to thebody 2. The force-load part 26 may be sand, gravel, stone, concrete blocks or another type of weight/ weights of previously known type. If theretention device 3, theintermediate part length 24L including theelement length 19L, are given alength 3L that corresponds to the width 5B of the side portion of the body, theshelf 22 can be placed against thecloth 25 that lies on the substratum C and thereby clamp thecloth 25 against the substratum C. - Upon use of a
device 1 having acloth 25 of this type and where the liquid E is retained on the side B of thebody 2 by means of acloth 25, the liquid E may conceivably leak in under thecloth 25 and further into thespace 10 of the device. The liquid E/D will then pass out of thedevice 1, thebody 2, via theopening 11 in the way previously described. The liquid D that flows out through theopening 11 and comes out on the side A, and that thereby undesirably ends up in the wrong area, on the wrong side of thebody 2, can simply be pumped back to the desired area B using apump device 26. - Each
body 2 shown inFig. 1 comprises two end portions 2.1 and 2.2 at least one of which is directed toward anotherbody 2. The end portion 2.1 or 2.2 directed toward theadjacent body 2 is arranged overlapping with the end portion 2.2 or 2.1 of the adjacent body. - In order to be able to surround an area, to hold something inside or to keep something out, see
Fig. 9 , or to be able to build a deflected device, thedevice 1 also comprisescorner elements 27 that constitute a connecting link between twobodies 2, which allows angular difference between the longitudinal axis LA of two bodies. InFig. 9 , a building F is shown surrounded by a device according to the invention to protect the building from the water that risks overflowing in a passing river G. - This description of different embodiments of the invention and alternative detail constructions should not be seen as a limitation of the invention but should be interpreted in the widest sense thereof in order not to unnecessary limit the scope of protection according to the claims appended herein. Changes that lie within the knowledge of a person skilled in the art are within the scope of protection of the general idea of the invention. The various detail constructions mentioned in the description hereinabove may be used and combined freely as long as the desired function is obtained.
