Claims (11)

  1. A method for connecting the ends of two rovings (1, 2) comprising the following steps:
    (i) application of adhesive strips (1a, 2a) to the ends of the rovings (1, 2) to be connected to one another

    • a separating device (6) for cutting through the roving (1, 2) in the centre of the adhesive strip (1a, 1b) applied by the labelling device
    • a transport carriage (7) which can be moved transversely to the roving running direction and on which the labelling device (6) and the separating device (6) are fixed, so that these are located in opposite rest positions on different sides of the roving and the labelling device (5) or the separating device (6) can be brought into their working position engaging into the running path of the roving (1, 2) by moving the transport carriage (7)

    • an outlet-side clamping device (8"') between the position at which the labelling or the separating device acts on the roving and the first draw roller pair (4e) of the outlet side transport device
    • wherein the outlet-side clamping device (8"') interacts with the first inlet-side clamping device (8') in order to hold the first roving material during the application of adhesive strips (1a) and their cutting through, and interacts with the second inlet-side clamping device (8"), in order to hold the second roving material during the application of adhesive strips (1b) and their cutting through, whilst the respective other inlet-side clamping device holds the end of the other roving material and after the separation procedure, the end of the first section of the cut through roving in the roving running direction is held by means of the outlet-side clamping device (8"') and the end of the second roving section is held by means of the inlet-side clamping device (8' or 8") of the corresponding roving material
