SHELF FOR DISPLAY APPARATUS
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates, in general, to a shelf for a display apparatus, and more particularly, to a shelf for a flat panel display device, which holds necessary articles on the top of the flat panel display device, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), which is thin, thereby optimizing the use of space. Background Art
[2] As is generally known in the art, flat panel display devices are indispensably used in monitors for desktop computers, televisions, portable computers such as laptop computers, and personal digital assistants (PDA), as well as small-size lightweight systems such as mobile phone terminals.
[3] These flat panel display devices include a liquid crystal display (LCD), a plasma display panel (PDP), a field emission display (FED), and so on.
[4] Among them, the LCD or PDP used for the computer monitor or the television is generally placed on a table therefor. This flat panel display device occupies a considerable portion of the table or desk but does not allow any simple products, furnishings, or ornaments to be placed on the upper portion thereof. As such, the flat panel display device not only fails to optimize the use of space, but also harms the aesthetic appearance in its vicinity.
[5] To solve this problem, a conventional shelf comprises a simple plate and a support, and is adapted to be fixedly attached to the upper portion of a cathode ray tube (CRT) monitor or a CRT television, for articles to be placed thereon.
[6] The conventional shelf for the CRT monitor or the CRT television is simply installed on the upper portion of a thick image display device, such as a CRT monitor or a CRT television, and is thus maintained horizontal. However, it is difficult to install the conventional shelf on a flat panel display device having a thin liquid crystal layer, such as an LCD or a PDP. Disclosure of Invention

The frame 70 is provided with a length adjustor 71 at the center thereof so that the total length thereof can be adjusted to be suitable for the width of the top of the display apparatus 2.
[66] The length adjustor 71 has a structure in which the wire is screwed into a cylindrical connector. To this end, the wire is cut into two parts, each of which has a male thread at one end thereof, and the cylindrical connector has female threads corresponding to the male threads at opposite ends thereof. Thus, when the cylindrical connector is turned in one direction, the interval between the cut wires is decreased. In contrast, when the cylindrical connector is turned in the other direction, the interval between the cut wires is increased. In this way, the length of the frame can be adjusted.
[67] The frame 70 is provided with side supports 75 at opposite ends thereof. The side supports 75 are formed of elastic bodies, and are in close contact with the opposite upper sides of the display apparatus 2.
[68] Further, the frame 70 is provided with angle adjustors 72 near the side supports 75 so as to adjust the angle between each side support 75 and each upper side of the display apparatus 2.
[69] Further, the frame 70 is provided with height adjustors 74 at the rear thereof so as to support the load of the plate member 10. Preferably, the height adjustors 74 are vertically screwed onto the frame 70, so that they adjust the height of the plate member 10 when rotated.
[70] In addition, the frame 70 is provided with upper coupling hinges 73 at certain positions of the front thereof. The upper coupling hinges 73 are connected with a connector panel 24, which will be described below.
[71] The connector panel 24 has the same structure as the connector panel 23 of the first embodiment. However, unlike the connector panel 23 hinged to the coupling panel 20 in the first embodiment, the connector panel 24 of the second embodiment is coupled to the upper coupling hinges 73 and performs the same function as the connector panel 23.
[72] Further, like the shelf for a display apparatus according to the first embodiment of
the present invention, in the shelf for a display apparatus according to the second embodiment of the present invention, the connector panel 24 is rounded at opposite ends thereof, and the base 11 of the plate member 10 (see FIG. 2) is provided with hooks 13 that correspond to the opposite ends of the connector panel 24 at the bottom thereof, and are thus detachably coupled to the connector panel 24. Further, the paper holder 50 is coupled to the plate member 10 so that it moves in and out, and the sliding main body 31 and the mirror 32 are attached to the plate member 10.
[73] FIG. 9 is a front view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a third exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is coupled to the display apparatus. FIG. 10 is a side view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the third exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is coupled to the display apparatus. FIG. 11 is a perspective view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the third exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is coupled to the display apparatus.
[74] Referring to FIGS. 9, 10 and 11, the shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a third exemplary embodiment, which is installed on the display apparatus 2 and receives necessary articles, includes a first plate member 110, a pair of first supporting frames 120, and a first coupling member 130.
[75] The first plate member 110 has the shape of a plate having a predetermined area, and is constructed to allow necessary articles to be placed on the top thereof and to allow one side of the bottom thereof to be supported on the top of the display apparatus 2.
[76] Further, the first plate member 110 is provided with two pairs of guide brackets
112, each pair of which protrudes downwards from the bottom thereof and runs from the front to the rear thereof.
[77] Thus, each pair of guide brackets 112 is engaged with a guide rail 124, which will be described below, so that the first plate member 110 can slide backwards and forwards on the top of the display apparatus 2.
[78] The first supporting frames 120 function to support the load of the first plate member 110 such that the first plate member 110 is firmly supported on the display apparatus 2, and each includes a first upper support 121, a first lower support 122, the guide rail 124, a rail clamp 125, and a first hinge 128.
[79] The first upper support 121 has the shape of a bar having a predetermined length, and has an upper end located below the bottom of the first plate member 110 so that it firmly supports the load of the first plate member 10.
[80] The first lower support 122 has the shape of a bar having a predetermined length, and is coupled to the lower end of the first upper support 121 at the upper end thereof. At this time, the first upper support 121 is pivotably hinged with the first lower support
122 by means of the first hinge 128. When the first plate member 110, located above the upper end of the first upper support 121, is intended to be inclined at a predetermined angle, the angle of the first plate member 110 is adjusted by the first hinge 128.
[81] The guide rail 124 functions to allow the first plate member 110 to slide, and is formed at the upper end of the first upper support 121 so as to correspond to each pair of guide brackets 112.
[82] Thus, the guide rail 124 is inserted into the guide brackets 112 of the first plate member 110, and thereby the first plate member 110 slides backwards and forwards on the top of the display apparatus 2.
[83] In this manner, because the first plate member 110 slides backwards and forwards by means of the guide rail 124 and the guide brackets 112, the user can easily move the first plate member 110 when intending to move the first plate member 110 backwards and forwards an arbitrary amount.
[84] Meanwhile, the guide rail 124 is provided with a female threaded hole 124a in a direction perpendicular to the bottom of the first plate member 110 such that the rail clamp 125, which will be described below, is screwed into the female thread hole 124a.
[85] The rail clamp 125 serves to prevent the guide rail 124 inserted into the guide brackets 112 from arbitrarily sliding along the guide brackets 112. To this end, the rail clamp 125 has the shape of a bolt corresponding to the female threaded hole 124a, and is pivotably coupled to the upper end of the first upper support 121.
[86] When the rail clamp 125 is screwed into the female threaded hole 124a of the guide rail 124, and then is turned in one direction, the rail clamp 125 protrudes from the female threaded hole 124a of the guide rail 124. Thereby, the rail clamp 125 presses the bottom of the first plate member 110. At this time, the rail clamp 125 separates the guide rail 124 from the bottom of the first plate member 110, and simultaneously brings the guide rail 124 into close contact with the guide brackets 112. Therefore, the guide rail 124 is prevented from arbitrarily sliding along the guide brackets 12 of the first plate member 110.
[87] The first coupling member 130 functions to couple the first supporting frames 120 to the display apparatus 2 such that the first plate member 110 is fixed to the top of the display apparatus 2, and includes a first support 131, a second support 132, first and second connectors 133, an interval adjustor 136, and first and second contact fixtures 139.
[88] The first support 131 and the second support 132 are disposed on the rear of the display apparatus 2. Each of the first and second supports 131 and 132 is bent at both ends thereof so as to press the side of the display apparatus 2.
[89] More specifically, each of the first and second supports 131 and 132 has a long "D" shape having a predetermined overall length, and is bent at a right angle at both ends so that it presses the side of the display apparatus 2.
[90] The first support 131 and the second support 132 are located under respective first lower supports 122 of the pair of first supporting frames 120. At this time, a turnaround part of the first support 131 is opposite that of the second support 132 on the rear of the display apparatus 2.
[91] The first and second connectors 133 function to allow the first support 131 and the second support 132 to be connected with the first lower supports 122 of the first supporting frames 120. Each of the first and second connectors 133 has a cylindrical shape, and is inserted into one end of each of the first and second supports 131 and 132. The lower end of each of the first lower supports 122 is inserted into an insert hole (not shown) that is drilled into the outer surface of each of the first and second connectors 133.
[92] Each of the first and second connectors 133 is provided with a fixing hole (not shown) at a position spaced apart from the insertion hole by a predetermined interval such that the first and second connectors 133 inserted into the first and second supports 131 and 132 are fixed, and a bolt 135 corresponding to the fixing hole is screwed into the fixing hole. As a result, the first and second connectors 133 are firmly fixed to the first and second supports 131 and 132.
[93] The interval adjustor 136 functions to connect the first support 131 and the second support 132 with each other so as to adjust the interval between the first support 131 and the second support 132, and includes a pair of coupling frames 137 and an interval adjusting sleeve 138.
[94] Each coupling frame 137 has the shape of a bar having a predetermined length.
Each coupling frame 137 has one end coupled rotatably to the turnaround part of each of the first and second supports 131 and 132, which are opposite each other on the rear of the display apparatus 2.
[95] The other ends of the coupling frames 137 have male threads (not shown) so that they correspond to female thread holes 138a, which will be described below, and are formed at opposite ends of the interval adjusting sleeve 138.
[96] The interval adjusting sleeve 138 functions to flexibly adjust the interval between the first support 131 and the second support 132 to correspond with display apparatuses 2 having various shapes and sizes, has a cylindrical shape, and is interposed between the other ends of the coupling frames 137.
[97] The interval adjusting sleeve 138 is formed, at opposite ends thereof, with female thread holes 138a corresponding to the male threads of the other ends of the coupling frames 137, so that the other ends of the coupling frames 137 are screwed into the
female thread holes 138a of the interval adjusting sleeve 138.
[98] When any one of the coupling frames 137 is turned in one direction or in the other direction, the interval adjusting sleeve 138 screwed into the coupling frame 137 moves left or right to adjust the interval between the first support 131 and the second support 132. As a result, the interval adjusting sleeve 138 can flexibly cope with display apparatuses 2 having various shapes and sizes.
[99] The first and second contact fixtures 139 function to fix the first support 131 and the second support 132 such that the first support 131 and the second support 132 are located on the rear of the display apparatus 2, and have the shape of a plate having a predetermined size.
[100] Each of the first and second contact fixtures 139 is provided with a pair of fixing recesses 139a at one side thereof, such that the opposite ends of each of the first support 131 and the second support 132 are inserted and fixed. The other sides of the first and second contact fixtures 139 are fixedly held to the opposite sides of the display apparatus 2.
[101] Because the opposite ends of each of the first support 131 and the second support
132 are inserted into and fixed to the fixing recesses 139a, the first plate member 110 is firmly supported to the first supporting frames 120, which are coupled with the first support 131 and the second support 132 by means of the first and second connectors 133.
[102] As described above, the shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the third embodiment of the present invention can receive the necessary articles on the top of the display apparatus 2, which is thin, using the first plate member 110, and can stably install the first plate member 110 to display apparatuses 2 having various shapes and sizes using the first coupling member 130.
[103] FIG. 12 is a front view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a fourth exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is coupled to the display apparatus. [104] Referring to FIGS. 12 and 13, the shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a fourth exemplary embodiment of the present invention, which is installed on the top of the display apparatus 2, such as an LCD or PDP, and receives necessary articles, has the same construction as that of the third embodiment, except that a receiving recess 140 is additionally provided on the rear of the display apparatus 2 of the third embodiment, and that the first coupling member 130 having the first support 131 (shown in FIG. 9), the second support 132 (shown in FIG. 9), the first and second connectors 133 (shown in FIG. 9), the interval adjustor 136 (shown in FIG. 9), and the
first and second contact fixtures 139 (shown in FIG. 9) in the third embodiment includes a shaft 142.
[105] In other words, the display apparatus 2 according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention is provided with the receiving recess 140 on the rear thereof.
[106] The receiving recess 140 is recessed inwards from the middle portion of the rear of the display apparatus 2. Preferably, the number of receiving recesses 140 is at least two, so as to correspond to display apparatuses 2 having various shapes and sizes.
[107] The shelf for a display apparatus according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention includes a first plate member 110, a pair of first supporting frames 120, and a first coupling member 130.
[108] The first plate member 110 and the first supporting frames 120 have the same construction as those of the third embodiment, and so a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[109] The first coupling member 130 functions to fix the first plate member 110 to the display apparatus 2, and includes the shaft 142, so as to couple the first supporting frames 120 supporting the first plate member 110 to the display apparatus 2.
[110] The shaft 142 functions to couple the first supporting frames 120 into the receiving recess 140, and thus is formed to correspond to the receiving recess 140.
[I l l] One end of the shaft 142 is located at the lower end of either one of the first supporting frames 120, and the other end of the shaft 142 is located at the lower end of the other of the first supporting frames 120. Thereby, the pair of first supporting frames 120 is fixedly supported to the shaft 142.
[112] The shaft 142 is inserted into and fixed to the receiving recess 140, and the first supporting frames 120 are coupled to the opposite ends of the shaft 142, so that the first plate member 110 is firmly supported to the first supporting frames 120 coupled with the shaft 142.
[113] Further, because two or more receiving recesses 140 can be provided so as to correspond to display apparatuses 2 having various shapes and sizes, they can flexibly cope with the display apparatuses 2 having various shapes and sizes.
[114] As described above, the shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the fourth embodiment of the present invention can receive the necessary articles on the top of a display apparatus 2 which is thin using the first plate member 110, and can stably install the first plate member 110 to display apparatuses 2 having various shapes and sizes using the first coupling member 130.
[115] FIG. 14 is a front view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a fifth exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is coupled to the display apparatus. FIG. 15 is a side view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the fifth exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein
the shelf is coupled to the display apparatus.
[116] Referring to FIGS. 14 and 15, the shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a fifth exemplary embodiment of the present invention, which is installed on the top of the display apparatus 2, such as an LCD or a PDP, and receives necessary articles, includes a second plate member 150, a pair of second supporting frames 160, and a second coupling member 170.
[117] The second plate member 150 has the shape of a plate having a predetermined area, and is constructed so that necessary articles can be placed on the top thereof and so that it is located at the rear upper end of the display apparatus 2 at one side thereof.
[118] The second supporting frames 160 function to support the load of the second plate member 150 such that the second plate member 150 is firmly supported on the rear upper end of the display apparatus 2, and are located on one side of the bottom of the second plate member 150.
[119] The second coupling member 170 is located on the rear of the display apparatus 2, is coupled with the second supporting frames 160 supporting the load of the second plate member 150, and includes a third support coupler 172, a frame connector 178, and a second hinge 180.
[120] The third support coupler 172 includes a support part 174, hook parts 175, and positioning parts 176. First, the support part 174 has the shape of a rectangular bar corresponding to the transverse length of the display apparatus 2, is located on the rear of the display apparatus 2, is bent at opposite ends thereof, and is in close contact with opposite sides of the display apparatus 2.
[121] The hook parts 175 protrude from the opposite ends of the support part 174, and are in close contact with the front of the display apparatus 2. When the support part 174 is located on the rear of the display apparatus 2, the hook parts 175, which are in close contact with the front of the display apparatus 2, serve to prevent the support part 174 from being separated from the rear of the display apparatus 2.
[122] When the opposite ends of the support part 174 are located at the opposite sides of the display apparatus 2, or when the hook parts 175 are located at the front of the display apparatus 2, the positioning parts 176 are mounted on the support part 174 or the hook parts 175 at a position(s) corresponding either to the opposite sides of the display apparatus 2 or to the front of the display apparatus 2, and thus serve to prevent the support part 174 or the hook parts 175 from sliding on the display apparatus 2. Therefore, the positioning parts 176 are formed of a rubber material having strong frictional force.
[123] In this manner, the third support coupler 172 can be fixed on the rear of the display apparatus 2 by means of the support part 174, the hook parts 175, and the positioning parts 176. Preferably, when the support part 174 of the third support coupler 172 is

Further, the connector 206 can be connected with a power jack installed in the main body of the computer, and can thereby be supplied with the power from the main body.
[133] For example, in the case in which several monitors are required, as in a stock business, a user such as a stockbroker can make use of several monitors through a single computer by connecting the connector 206 provided to the auxiliary display apparatus 205 to the main body of the computer, and by transferring the image information from the main body of the computer to the auxiliary display apparatus 205 through the connector 206.
[134] The plate member 210 is provided with a mounting hole 214 on one side of the top thereof. Thus, a versatile hanger 207 or a receiving box (not shown), capable of fixing a document, etc. is mounted through the mounting hole 214.
[135] Each connecting member 220 functions to allow the plate member 210 to be fixed on the rear upper side of the display apparatus 2, and includes a connecting knob 222, a knob recess 224, and a first hinge pin 226.
[136] The connecting knob 222 protrudes from the front end of the plate member 210 in the direction opposite the rear of the display apparatus 2. The knob recess 224 is formed at the rear upper side of the display apparatus 2 at a position corresponding to the connecting knob 222 such that the connecting knob 222 is inserted thereinto.
[137] The connecting knob 222 is hinged to the knob recess 224 through the first hinge pin 226, so that the plate member 210 does not deviate from the display apparatus 2. Further, the angle of the plate member 210 can be freely adjusted.
[138] Meanwhile, in the sixth embodiment of the present invention, the plate member 210 is provided with the connecting knob 222, and the display apparatus 2 is provided with the knob recess 224. It will be apparent that the present invention is not limited to this construction. Alternatively, the display apparatus 2 may be provided with the
connecting knob 222, and the plate member 210 may be provided with the knob recess 224, so that the connecting knob 222 can be hinged to the knob recess 224.
[139] In this manner, the shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the sixth embodiment of the present invention can support the placement of necessary articles on the top of the display apparatus 2 when the plate member 210 is installed on the top of the display apparatus 2, and the angle of the plate member 210 can be freely adjusted by means of the first hinge pin 226 of the connecting member 220.
[140] Further, an auxiliary display apparatus 205, such as a highly portable DMB player, can be firmly fixed to the plate member 210.
[141] FIG. 18 is an exploded perspective view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a seventh exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is assembled to the display apparatus. FIG. 19 is a front view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the seventh exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is assembled to the display apparatus. FIG. 20 is a side view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the seventh exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is assembled to the display apparatus.
[142] Referring to FIGS. 18, 19 and 20, the shelf for a display apparatus according to a seventh exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a plate member 210 that is installed on the top of a thin display apparatus 2 and allows necessary articles to be placed thereon, and has the same construction as that of the sixth embodiment, except that a pair of connecting members 230 is structurally different from the connecting members 220 of the sixth embodiment.
[143] Each connecting member 230 of the seventh embodiment includes a first recess
232, a second recess 234, a connector 236, a second hinge pin 237, a third hinge pin 238, and friction elements 239.
[144] The first recess 232 is recessed from the front end of the plate member 210, and the second recess 234 is recessed from the rear upper side of the display apparatus 2 at a position corresponding to the first recess 232. The front end of the plate member 210 is located at the rear upper side of the display apparatus 2, so that the first recess 232 is opposite the second recess 234.
[145] The connector 236 is inserted into the first recess 232 at one end thereof and into the second recess 234 at the other end thereof.
[146] The second hinge pin 237 passes through the first recess 232 and one end of the connector 236, so that the first recess 232 is hinged with one end of the connector 236. The third hinge pin 238 passes through the second recess 234 and the other end of the connector 236, so that the second recess 234 is hinged with the other end of the connector 236. Thereby, the plate member 210 does not deviate from the display
apparatus 2, and the angle of the plate member 210 can be freely adjusted.
[147] The friction elements 239 are mounted between the first recess 232 and one end of the connector 236 and between the second recess 234 and the other end of the connector 236 in order to maintain the angle of the plate member 210 when the angle of the plate member 210 is adjusted by the second hinge pin 237 and the third hinge pin 238. The friction elements 239 prevent the connector 236 from sliding in the first recess 232 and the second recess 234, and are preferably formed of a rubber material having high contact capability and frictional force.
[148] In this manner, after the angle of the plate member 210 is adjusted using the friction elements 239, the adjusted angle of the plate member 210 can be maintained unchanged. In order to more firmly maintain the adjusted angle of the plate member 210, a clamp (not shown) can be additionally provided on one side of each of the second and third hinge pins 237 and 238.
[149] In order to prevent the plate member 210 from pivoting about the second hinge pin
237 and/or the third hinge pin 238, the clamp (not shown) is fitted around the second hinge pin 237 and/or the third hinge pin 238, thereby clamping the connector 236 to fix the plate member 210. This construction is well known, and so a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

324 of the second stand 323, the total height of the stand 320 can be adjusted.
[176] FIG. 26 is an enlarged view illustrating an angle adjuster in a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the present invention.
[177] Referring to FIG. 26, the angle adjuster 350 in a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes a fixing member 352, a pivoting member 354, a connecting shaft 356, a fastening nut 357, and a support 358.
[178] The fixing member 352 protrudes from one side of the first stand 321, and is provided with first corrugations 352a on opposite sides thereof.
[179] The pivoting member 354 is provided with second corrugations 354a so as to correspond to the fixing member 352, so that the second corrugations 354a thereof engage with the first corrugations 352a of the fixing member 352.
[180] Further, the second corrugations 354a of the pivoting member 354 are characterized in that they are formed in a sine waveform shape such that they can be pivoted in engagement with the first corrugations 352a of the fixing member 352.
[181] The connecting shaft 356 connects the fixing member 352 with the pivoting member 354, and is screwed at one end thereof by means of the fastening nut 357. When the fastening nut 357 is screwed, the first corrugations 352a of the fixing member 352 are engaged with the second corrugations 354a of the pivoting member 354, so that the engagement force between them is increased. In contrast, when the fastening nut 357 is unscrewed, the engagement force between the first corrugations 352a of the fixing member 352 and the second corrugations 354a of the pivoting member 354 is gradually decreased, so that the pivoting member 354 can be pivoted relative to the fixing member 352.
[182] The support 358 is integrally formed with the pivoting member 354. When the user uses a laptop computer inclined at a predetermined angle, the support 358 supports the bottom of the inclined laptop computer.
[183] The support 358 is preferably formed of a material having elastic force so as to be flexible after being connected to opposite sides of the pivoting member 354.
[184] In this manner, the angle adjuster 350 is constructed such that, when the fastening nut 357 is screwed, the fixing member 352 is firmly connected with the pivoting member 354 by means of the clamping force, and thus the support 358 can withstand the weight of the laptop computer, and such that, when the fastening nut 357 is unscrewed, the clamping force between the fixing member 352 and the pivoting member 354 is weakened, and the gap between the fixing member 352 and the pivoting member 354 is increased, so that the pivoting member 354 can be pivoted relative to the fixing member 352.
[185] Further, when used for a long time, the laptop computer emits a lot of heat. For this reason, the support 358 of the angle adjuster 350 is fitted with a cooler (not shown) serving to dissipate the heat.
[186] FIG. 27 is a side view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a ninth exemplary embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 28 is a front view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the ninth exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
[187] Referring to FIGS. 27 and 28, the shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a ninth exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a stand 360 having a guide shaft 362 such that the stand 360 can be fixed to a rotating base 310 at a lower
end thereof and can slide together with a plate member 370 at the upper end thereof. However, the stand 320 of the eighth embodiment is fixed to the rotating base 310 at the lower end thereof and is hinged with the plate member 370 at the upper end thereof. The shelf of the ninth embodiment has the same construction as that of the eighth embodiment, except for the plate member 370, having a coupler 372 coupled with the guide shaft 362 of the stand 360 so as to slide backwards and forwards, compared to the hinged plate member 330 in the eighth embodiment.
[188] In other words, the shelf of the ninth embodiment of the present invention has the same construction as that of the eighth embodiment, concerning the rotating base 310 formed to be rotatable, the mount member 340 coupled detachably with the rotating base 310, and the angle adjuster 350 formed on one side of the stand 320. However, the shelf of the ninth embodiment is different from that of the eighth embodiment in that the stand 360 has the guide shaft 362 connected to an upper portion of the rotating base 310, and that the plate member 370 has the coupler 372 that is connected with the guide shaft 362 of the stand 360 and then slides backwards and forwards.
[189] The stand 360 is fixed to the upper portion of the rotating base 310 at a lower end thereof, and is provided with the guide shaft 362 formed horizontally at an upper end thereof.
[190] Further, the stand 360 includes a first stand 321, a second stand 323, and a fixing screw 326 so as to be able to adjust the height thereof, as in the stand 320 of the eighth embodiment. Preferably, the lower end of the first stand 321 is fixed to the upper portion of the rotating base 310, and the guide shaft 362 is provided to an upper end of the second stand 323.
[191] The plate member 370 is provided with the coupler 372 at a lower portion thereof such that the guide shaft 362 of the stand 360 is mounted to the coupler 372. The plate member 370 slides backwards and forwards along the guide shaft 362 of the stand 360, so that the position of the plate member 370 can be changed. Industrial Applicability
[192] The shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the present invention is provided with a plate member above the display apparatus, which is thin, thereby allowing necessary articles to be placed on the top of the plate member.
