Abstract

A shelf for a display apparatus allows at least one necessary article to be placed on the top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP). The shelf can receive the necessary article on the top of a display apparatus, which is thin, by installing the first plate member at the top of the display apparatus, and can be stably installed on display apparatuses having various shapes and sizes.

Description
SHELF FOR DISPLAY APPARATUS
Technical Field
[1] The present invention relates, in general, to a shelf for a display apparatus, and more particularly, to a shelf for a flat panel display device, which holds necessary articles on the top of the flat panel display device, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), which is thin, thereby optimizing the use of space. Background Art
[2] As is generally known in the art, flat panel display devices are indispensably used in monitors for desktop computers, televisions, portable computers such as laptop computers, and personal digital assistants (PDA), as well as small-size lightweight systems such as mobile phone terminals.
[3] These flat panel display devices include a liquid crystal display (LCD), a plasma display panel (PDP), a field emission display (FED), and so on.
[4] Among them, the LCD or PDP used for the computer monitor or the television is generally placed on a table therefor. This flat panel display device occupies a considerable portion of the table or desk but does not allow any simple products, furnishings, or ornaments to be placed on the upper portion thereof. As such, the flat panel display device not only fails to optimize the use of space, but also harms the aesthetic appearance in its vicinity.
[5] To solve this problem, a conventional shelf comprises a simple plate and a support, and is adapted to be fixedly attached to the upper portion of a cathode ray tube (CRT) monitor or a CRT television, for articles to be placed thereon.
[6] The conventional shelf for the CRT monitor or the CRT television is simply installed on the upper portion of a thick image display device, such as a CRT monitor or a CRT television, and is thus maintained horizontal. However, it is difficult to install the conventional shelf on a flat panel display device having a thin liquid crystal layer, such as an LCD or a PDP. Disclosure of Invention
Technical Problem
[7] Accordingly, the present invention has been made in an effort to solve the problems occurring in the related art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a shelf for a display apparatus, so that necessary articles can be stored on the top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), which is thin, thereby being stably installed on display apparatuses having various shapes and sizes.
[8] Another object of the present invention is to provide a shelf for a display apparatus that allows free adjustment of the angle of the plate member, and allows easy assembly of only the plate member if necessary, without disassembling the entire shelf.
[9] Another object of the present invention is to provide a shelf for a display apparatus, capable of mounting an auxiliary display apparatus such as a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) player having high portability.
[10] Another object of the present invention is to provide a shelf for a display apparatus, capable of receiving a keyboard to increase the convenience of a user, and optimizing the use of space. Technical Solution
[11] In order to achieve the above object, according to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP). The shelf includes: a plate member having a base, and a receiving space on a top thereof; a coupling panel attached below the plate member, attached and supported to an upper front and a top of the display apparatus, and including at least one rear support at a position corresponding to an upper rear of the display apparatus; and a fixing member passing through and coupled to the rear support, and fixedly supporting the display apparatus.
[12] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP). The shelf includes: a plate member having a base, and a receiving space on a top thereof; a coupling panel attached below the plate member, attached and supported to an upper front and a top of the display apparatus, and including at least one rear support at a position corresponding to an upper rear of the display apparatus; and a shelf support coupled to a rear of a bottom surface of the base at one end thereof and a rear of the display apparatus at the other end thereof so as to withstand a load applied to the plate member.
[13] Further, in the present invention, the shelf support may further include: a connecting panel attached in a shape of a plate parallel to the base; a supporting panel having an upper supporting panel, one side of which is hinged to the connector panel, and a lower supporting panel that is slidably connected to the other side of the upper supporting panel; and a rear connecting panel hinged to the lower supporting panel at one end thereof, provided with at least one screw hole in a center thereof, and fixed to the rear of the display apparatus. [14] Further, in the present invention, the shelf may further includes a connector panel that is formed in a shape of a plate located between the base and the coupling panel, is hinged to one side of a top of the coupling panel at one end thereof, and is attached to the base on a top thereof so as to adjust an angle between the plate member and the coupling panel.
[15] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP). The shelf includes: a plate member having a base, and a receiving space on a top thereof; a frame, formed of a pair of wires, which are parallel to each other in the same plane for a predetermined length so as to withstand a load of the plate member; and provided with a length adjuster adjusting an entire length thereof at a center thereof, side supports attached downwards at opposite ends thereof to be in close contact with opposite upper sides of the display apparatus, angle adjustors near the side supports so as to adjust an angle between each side support and each upper side of the display apparatus, height adjustors at the rear thereof so as to support a load of the plate member, and upper coupling hinges formed upwards; and a connector panel formed in a shape of a plate attached to a bottom of the base, coupled to the upper coupling hinges at one end thereof, and adjusting an angle between the plate member and the frame.
[16] Further, in the present invention, the connector panel may be rounded at opposite ends thereof, and the shelf may further include hooks that are rounded to correspond to the opposite ends of the connector panel, and are provided left and right relative to a bottom of the base so as to be detachably coupled to the connector panel up and down.
[17] Further, in the present invention, the shelf may further include: a sliding main body located in the receiving space formed on one side of the plate member, and formed to slide through an opening formed in one side of a front sidewall; and any one selected from among: a mirror that is held by the spherical hinge on one side thereof, is held by a detachable ring on another side thereof, and is attached to a front of the main body; a paper holder that is connected to move into and out of an opening formed in any one of sidewalls; and a cup container that is provided with a slot having the same shape as the sidewall at a bottom thereof so as to be fitted with the sidewall.
[18] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP). The shelf includes: a first plate member formed in a shape of a plate so as to allow the necessary articles to be placed thereon, and having one side of a bottom thereof located at the top of the display apparatus having a base; first supporting frames located at the bottom of the first plate member so as to support a load of the first plate member; and a first coupling member interconnecting the first supporting frames and the display apparatus such that the first plate member is fixed to the display apparatus. Here, each of the first supporting frames includes: a first upper support having an upper end thereof located at the bottom of the first plate member so as to support the first plate member; and a first lower support hinged pivotably to a lower end of the first upper support by means of a first hinge. Further, any one of the bottom of the first plate member and a top of the first upper support is provided with a guide rail and a rail clamp formed to correspond to the guide rail so as to slide on the guide rail.
[19] Further, in the present invention, the first coupling member may include: first and second supports that are disposed on a rear of the display apparatus, are each bent at opposite ends thereof so as to press a corresponding side of the display apparatus; first and second connectors causing the first support and the second support to be connected with the first lower supports; an interval adjuster interconnecting the first support and the second support with each other so as to adjust an interval between the first support and the second support; and first and second contact fixtures coupled to the opposite ends of each of the first support and the second support at one side of each thereof, and contacting the corresponding side of the display apparatus at the other side of each thereof.
[20] Further, in the present invention, the rear of the display apparatus may be provided with at least one receiving recess, the first coupling member may be provided with a shaft so as to be inserted into the receiving recess, and each of the first supporting frames may be fixed and supported to the shaft.
[21] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP). The shelf includes: a second plate member formed in a shape of a plate so as to allow the necessary articles to be placed thereon, and having one side thereof located at a rear top of the display apparatus having a base; second supporting frames located at a bottom of the second plate member so as to support a load of the second plate member; and a second coupling member located on a rear of the display apparatus, and connected with the second supporting frames. Here, the second coupling member includes: a third support coupler having a support part that has a shape of a rectangular bar, is located on a rear of the display apparatus, is bent at opposite ends thereof, and is in close contact with opposite sides of the display apparatus; a frame connector protruding from the support part of the third support coupler at a position corresponding to the second supporting frames; and a second hinge pivotably connecting the third support coupler and the frame connector. [22] Further, in the present invention, the third support coupler may further include; hook parts that protrude from opposite ends of the support part and are in close contact with a front of the display apparatus; and positioning parts formed of a rubber material and preventing sliding at opposite sides of the display apparatus or at the front of the display apparatus.
[23] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a shelf for a display apparatus, which allows at least one necessary article to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP). The shelf includes: a plate member formed in a shape of a plate so as to allow the necessary article to be placed thereon, and having one side thereof located at a rear upper side of the display apparatus having a base; and connecting members interconnecting the plate member and the display apparatus such that the plate member is fixed to the display apparatus. Here, each of the connecting members includes a connecting knob formed on one of one side of the plate member and a rear of the display apparatus, and a knob recess formed to correspond to the connecting knob such that the connecting knob is inserted thereinto, and the connecting knob and the knob recess are hinged to each other by means of a first hinge pin.
[24] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a shelf for a display apparatus, which allows at least one necessary article to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP). The shelf includes: a plate member formed in a shape of a plate so as to allow the necessary article to be placed thereon, and having one side thereof located at a rear upper side of the display apparatus having a base; and connecting members interconnecting the plate member and the display apparatus such that the plate member is fixed to the display apparatus. Here, each of the connecting members includes a first recess formed in one side of the plate member, a second recess recessed from a rear upper side of the display apparatus at a position corresponding to the first recess, a connector inserted into the first recess at one end thereof and the second recess at the other end thereof, a second hinge pin passing through the first recess and one end of the connector so that the first recess is hinged with one end of the connector, and a third hinge pin passing through the second recess and another end of the connector so that the second recess is hinged with the other end of the connector.
[25] Further, in the present invention, the article may include an auxiliary display apparatus; the plate member may be provided with at least one screw hole therein such that the auxiliary display apparatus is fixed to the plate member; and a fastening screw may be screwed into the auxiliary display apparatus through the screw hole.
[26] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a shelf for a display apparatus, which allows at least one necessary article to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP). The shelf includes: a rotating base supporting a lower portion of an LCD monitor or a laptop computer, and formed so as to be able to rotate relative to a ground; a stand formed upwards on one side of the rotating base such that a height of the stand can be adjusted; and a plate member formed to allow the article to be placed thereon, and coupled to an upper end of the stand on one side thereof.
[27] Further, in the present invention, the shelf may further include a mount member having legs that move in and out in opposite directions at a lower portion of the rotating base so as to adjust an interval between the legs. The lower portion of the rotating base may form a space for receiving a product such as a keyboard.
[28] Further, in the present invention, a lower end of the stand and an upper side of the rotating base, or the plate member and an upper end of the stand, may be pivotably hinged to each other.
[29] Further, in the present invention, the stand may be horizontally provided with a guide shaft on an upper end thereof; the plate member may be provided with a slidable coupler fitted around the guide shaft on a lower portion thereof; and the plate member may change in position when sliding along the guide shaft of the stand.
[30] Further, in the present invention, the stand may be provided with an angle adjuster that can be pivoted forwards up and down at a predetermined position thereof; and the angle adjuster may support a bottom or rear of the laptop computer at a specific position.
Advantageous Effects
[31] According to the present invention, the shelf for a display apparatus can receive the necessary article on the top of a display apparatus that is thin due to the installation of the first plate member at the top of the display apparatus, and can be stably installed on display apparatuses having various shapes and sizes. [32] Further, the shelf allows free adjustment of the angle of the plate member, and thus easily assembly of the plate member if necessary. [33] Further, the shelf can mount an auxiliary display apparatus such as a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) player which is very portable. [34] In addition, the shelf is provided with a mount member that is easily attached and detached, so that it can receive a keyboard to increase the convenience of a user and optimize the use of space.

Referring to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, the shelf for a display apparatus, according to a first exemplary embodiment of the present invention, has a structure in which it is fixedly installed on the top of the display apparatus 2 and allows necessary articles to be put thereon.

The cup container 60 can be detachably fitted with the sidewall 12 using the slot thereof at any place, so that it can be more stably used.

To this end, the rail clamp 125 has the shape of a bolt corresponding to the female threaded hole 124a, and is pivotably coupled to the upper end of the first upper support 121.

Each of the first and second supports 131 and 132 is bent at both ends thereof so as to press the side of the display apparatus 2. Thereby, the auxiliary display apparatus 205 can be firmly fixed to the plate member 210.

The connector 206 is connected to the main body, and thus it can be adapted to transfer power or image information from the main body to the auxiliary display apparatus 205. In other words, the connector 206 provided to the auxiliary display apparatus 205 can be adapted to provide connection and communication with various buses, such as a peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus installed in the main body of the computer. Further, the connector 206 can be connected with a power jack installed in the main body of the computer, and can thereby be supplied with the power from the main body.
[133] For example, in the case in which several monitors are required, as in a stock business, a user such as a stockbroker can make use of several monitors through a single computer by connecting the connector 206 provided to the auxiliary display apparatus 205 to the main body of the computer, and by transferring the image information from the main body of the computer to the auxiliary display apparatus 205 through the connector 206.
[134] The plate member 210 is provided with a mounting hole 214 on one side of the top thereof. Thus, a versatile hanger 207 or a receiving box (not shown), capable of fixing a document, etc. is mounted through the mounting hole 214.
[135] Each connecting member 220 functions to allow the plate member 210 to be fixed on the rear upper side of the display apparatus 2, and includes a connecting knob 222, a knob recess 224, and a first hinge pin 226.
[136] The connecting knob 222 protrudes from the front end of the plate member 210 in the direction opposite the rear of the display apparatus 2. The knob recess 224 is formed at the rear upper side of the display apparatus 2 at a position corresponding to the connecting knob 222 such that the connecting knob 222 is inserted thereinto.
[137] The connecting knob 222 is hinged to the knob recess 224 through the first hinge pin 226, so that the plate member 210 does not deviate from the display apparatus 2. Further, the angle of the plate member 210 can be freely adjusted.
[138] Meanwhile, in the sixth embodiment of the present invention, the plate member 210 is provided with the connecting knob 222, and the display apparatus 2 is provided with the knob recess 224. It will be apparent that the present invention is not limited to this construction. Alternatively, the display apparatus 2 may be provided with the connecting knob 222, and the plate member 210 may be provided with the knob recess 224, so that the connecting knob 222 can be hinged to the knob recess 224.
[139] In this manner, the shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the sixth embodiment of the present invention can support the placement of necessary articles on the top of the display apparatus 2 when the plate member 210 is installed on the top of the display apparatus 2, and the angle of the plate member 210 can be freely adjusted by means of the first hinge pin 226 of the connecting member 220.
[140] Further, an auxiliary display apparatus 205, such as a highly portable DMB player, can be firmly fixed to the plate member 210.
[141] FIG. 18 is an exploded perspective view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a seventh exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is assembled to the display apparatus. FIG. 19 is a front view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the seventh exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is assembled to the display apparatus. FIG. 20 is a side view illustrating a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the seventh exemplary embodiment of the present invention, wherein the shelf is assembled to the display apparatus.
[142] Referring to FIGS. 18, 19 and 20, the shelf for a display apparatus according to a seventh exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a plate member 210 that is installed on the top of a thin display apparatus 2 and allows necessary articles to be placed thereon, and has the same construction as that of the sixth embodiment, except that a pair of connecting members 230 is structurally different from the connecting members 220 of the sixth embodiment.
[143] Each connecting member 230 of the seventh embodiment includes a first recess
232, a second recess 234, a connector 236, a second hinge pin 237, a third hinge pin 238, and friction elements 239.
[144] The first recess 232 is recessed from the front end of the plate member 210, and the second recess 234 is recessed from the rear upper side of the display apparatus 2 at a position corresponding to the first recess 232. Thereby, the plate member 210 does not deviate from the display apparatus 2, and the angle of the plate member 210 can be freely adjusted.
[147] The friction elements 239 are mounted between the first recess 232 and one end of the connector 236 and between the second recess 234 and the other end of the connector 236 in order to maintain the angle of the plate member 210 when the angle of the plate member 210 is adjusted by the second hinge pin 237 and the third hinge pin 238. The friction elements 239 prevent the connector 236 from sliding in the first recess 232 and the second recess 234, and are preferably formed of a rubber material having high contact capability and frictional force.
[148] In this manner, after the angle of the plate member 210 is adjusted using the friction elements 239, the adjusted angle of the plate member 210 can be maintained unchanged. In order to more firmly maintain the adjusted angle of the plate member 210, a clamp (not shown) can be additionally provided on one side of each of the second and third hinge pins 237 and 238.
[149] In order to prevent the plate member 210 from pivoting about the second hinge pin
237 and/or the third hinge pin 238, the clamp (not shown) is fitted around the second hinge pin 237 and/or the third hinge pin 238, thereby clamping the connector 236 to fix the plate member 210. This construction is well known, and so a detailed description thereof will be omitted.

[151] Referring to FIGS. 21, 22 and 23, the shelf for a display apparatus, according to an eighth exemplary embodiment of the present invention, includes a rotating base 310, a stand 320, a plate member 330, a mount member 340, and an angle adjuster 350.
[152] The rotating base 310 can support an LCD monitor or a laptop computer, is formed so as to be able to rotate at an angle of 360 degrees relative to the ground, and includes a rotating plate 312, a hinge coupler 314, and a stopper 316.
[153] The rotating plate 312 is formed so as to be able to rotate at an angle of 360 degrees after the LCD monitor or the laptop computer is placed thereon.
[154] The hinge coupler 314 is formed on one side of the rotating plate 312, and is connected with the stand 320, which will be described below.
[155] The stopper 316 is installed in a recess 316a formed on the front of the rotating plate 312, and is pivotably hinged to the recess 316a.
[156] When the stopper 316 is set at an angle of 90 degrees, the stopper 316 has a level higher than that of the top of the rotating plate 312. In contrast, when the stopper 316 is returned to its original position, the stopper 316 has the same level as the top of the rotating plate 312.
[157] More specifically, when the laptop computer is used after the stopper 316 is set at a predetermined angle, the stopper 316 serves not only to support the front lower portion of the laptop computer but also to fix the laptop computer so that it does not deviate from the rotating plate 312.
[158] The stand 320 is formed upwards on one side of the rotating base 310 such that the height thereof can be adjusted, and includes a first stand 321 hinged to the hinge coupler 314 of the rotating base 310 using a hinge 315, a second stand 323 fitted into the first stand 321 so as to be able to adjust the height in a vertical direction, and a fixing screw 326 connecting the first stand 321 and the second stand 323.
[159] The plate member 330 has the shape of a plate having a predetermined area, allows articles to be placed thereon, is provided with a hinge coupler 332 on one side thereof, and is pivotably hinged with an upper end of the second stand 323 by means of a hinge 335.
[160] The mount member 340 is mounted to a lower portion of the rotating base 310 so as to be able to receive a keyboard A, is easily detached, and includes a supporting plate 342, legs 344, and a receiving space (not shown).
[161] The supporting plate 342 is connected to the lower portion of the rotating base 310, and is provided therein with rails 342a such that the legs 344 are slidably connected at the outer circumference of the supporting plate 342.
[162] Further, the outer circumference of the supporting plate 342 is formed with a drawer mount (not shown) so that it is able to function as a drawer.
[163] The legs 344 are formed to make the supporting plate 342 stand, and each have a predetermined height so that they slide out of the supporting plate 342 in opposite directions to receive the keyboard A. The legs 344 are provided with guides 344a c or- responding to the rails 342a of the supporting plate 342, so that the interval between the legs 344 is adjusted as the legs 344 move along the rails 342a.
[164] The receiving space (not shown) is an inner space formed between the supporting plate 342 and the legs 344, and has a size appropriate for receiving the keyboard A.
[165] More specifically, when the guides 344a of the legs 344 slide outside along the rails
342a formed in the supporting plate 342, and thus the interval between the legs 344 is increased, the receiving space (not shown) capable of receiving the keyboard A is formed to thereby receive the keyboard A.
[166] The angle adjuster 350 is installed to the stand 320 at a predetermined position.
When the laptop computer is set at a predetermined angle, the angle adjuster 350 can support the bottom or rear of the laptop computer, and can be adjusted to a predetermined angle by a user. [167] The angle adjuster 350 will be described in greater detail with reference to FIG. 26.

The plate member 330 is provided with dissipation slots 334 in order to dissipate outside heat or electromagnetic waves emitted from the LCD monitor or the laptop computer. Further, the plate member 330 is fitted with an anion generator (not shown), which helps to clear the head of the user and prevent the user from feeling fatigue, at a specific position thereof, when the user has a headache or feels exhausted after using the computer for a long time. Further, the plate member 330 is provided on one side thereof with a paper holder (not shown) enabling the user to write a memo or a mirror (not shown) enabling the user to look at his/her own face.
[170] FIG. 25 is a sectional view illustrating a stand in a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the present invention.
[171] Referring to FIG. 25, the stand 320 in a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with an eighth exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a first stand 321, a second stand 323, and a fixing screw 326.
[172] The first stand 321 has a lower end located at the hinge coupler 314 of the rotating base 310, and thus is pivotably hinged by the hinge 315. Further, the first stand 321 is hollow, and has a female thread 322 at one side thereof.
[173] The second stand 323 moves up and down so as to allow the height to be adjusted by being fit into the first stand 321. Further, the second stand 323 is hollow, and is formed with a plurality of fitting holes 324 at regular intervals at one side thereof.
[174] The fixing screw 326 has a male thread 327 so that it can engage with the female thread 322 of the first stand 321, and is formed with a fitting knob 328 at a leading end thereof so as to be inserted into one of the fitting hole 324 of the second stand 323. Thus, when engaged, the fixing screw 326 is fitted into one of the fitting holes 324 of the second stand 323 via the female thread 322 of the first stand 321, so that the first stand 321 is connected with the second stand 323.
[175] Further, when the fixing screw 326 is unscrewed and fitted into another fitting hole
324 of the second stand 323, the total height of the stand 320 can be adjusted.
[176] FIG. 26 is an enlarged view illustrating an angle adjuster in a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the present invention.
[177] Referring to FIG. 26, the angle adjuster 350 in a shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes a fixing member 352, a pivoting member 354, a connecting shaft 356, a fastening nut 357, and a support 358.
[178] The fixing member 352 protrudes from one side of the first stand 321, and is provided with first corrugations 352a on opposite sides thereof. [179] The pivoting member 354 is provided with second corrugations 354a so as to correspond to the fixing member 352, so that the second corrugations 354a thereof engage with the first corrugations 352a of the fixing member 352.
[180] Further, the second corrugations 354a of the pivoting member 354 are characterized in that they are formed in a sine waveform shape such that they can be pivoted in engagement with the first corrugations 352a of the fixing member 352.
[181] The connecting shaft 356 connects the fixing member 352 with the pivoting member 354, and is screwed at one end thereof by means of the fastening nut 357. When the fastening nut 357 is screwed, the first corrugations 352a of the fixing member 352 are engaged with the second corrugations 354a of the pivoting member 354, so that the engagement force between them is increased. In contrast, when the fastening nut 357 is unscrewed, the engagement force between the first corrugations 352a of the fixing member 352 and the second corrugations 354a of the pivoting member 354 is gradually decreased, so that the pivoting member 354 can be pivoted relative to the fixing member 352.
[182] The support 358 is integrally formed with the pivoting member 354. When the user uses a laptop computer inclined at a predetermined angle, the support 358 supports the bottom of the inclined laptop computer.
[183] The support 358 is preferably formed of a material having elastic force so as to be flexible after being connected to opposite sides of the pivoting member 354.
[184] In this manner, the angle adjuster 350 is constructed such that, when the fastening nut 357 is screwed, the fixing member 352 is firmly connected with the pivoting member 354 by means of the clamping force, and thus the support 358 can withstand the weight of the laptop computer, and such that, when the fastening nut 357 is unscrewed, the clamping force between the fixing member 352 and the pivoting member 354 is weakened, and the gap between the fixing member 352 and the pivoting member 354 is increased, so that the pivoting member 354 can be pivoted relative to the fixing member 352.
[185] Further, when used for a long time, the laptop computer emits a lot of heat. For this reason, the support 358 of the angle adjuster 350 is fitted with a cooler (not shown) serving to dissipate the heat.

[187] Referring to FIGS. 27 and 28, the shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with a ninth exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a stand 360 having a guide shaft 362 such that the stand 360 can be fixed to a rotating base 310 at a lower end thereof and can slide together with a plate member 370 at the upper end thereof. However, the stand 320 of the eighth embodiment is fixed to the rotating base 310 at the lower end thereof and is hinged with the plate member 370 at the upper end thereof. The shelf of the ninth embodiment has the same construction as that of the eighth embodiment, except for the plate member 370, having a coupler 372 coupled with the guide shaft 362 of the stand 360 so as to slide backwards and forwards, compared to the hinged plate member 330 in the eighth embodiment.
[188] In other words, the shelf of the ninth embodiment of the present invention has the same construction as that of the eighth embodiment, concerning the rotating base 310 formed to be rotatable, the mount member 340 coupled detachably with the rotating base 310, and the angle adjuster 350 formed on one side of the stand 320. However, the shelf of the ninth embodiment is different from that of the eighth embodiment in that the stand 360 has the guide shaft 362 connected to an upper portion of the rotating base 310, and that the plate member 370 has the coupler 372 that is connected with the guide shaft 362 of the stand 360 and then slides backwards and forwards.
[189] The stand 360 is fixed to the upper portion of the rotating base 310 at a lower end thereof, and is provided with the guide shaft 362 formed horizontally at an upper end thereof.

[192] The shelf for a display apparatus in accordance with the present invention is provided with a plate member above the display apparatus, which is thin, thereby allowing necessary articles to be placed on the top of the plate member.

Claims

Claims
[1] A shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), the shelf comprising: a plate member having a base, and a receiving space on a top thereof; a coupling panel attached below the plate member, attached and supported to an upper front and a top of the display apparatus, and including at least one rear support at a position corresponding to an upper rear of the display apparatus; and a fixing member passing through and coupled to the rear support, and fixedly supporting the display apparatus.
[2] A shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), the shelf comprising: a plate member having a base, and a receiving space on a top thereof; a coupling panel attached below the plate member, attached and supported to an upper front and a top of the display apparatus, and including at least one rear support at a position corresponding to an upper rear of the display apparatus; and a shelf support coupled to a rear of a bottom surface of the base at one end thereof and a rear of the display apparatus at the other end thereof so as to withstand a load applied to the plate member.
[3] The shelf as set forth in claim 2, wherein the shelf support further includes: a connecting panel attached in a shape of a plate parallel to the base; a supporting panel having an upper supporting panel, one side of which is hinged to the connector panel, and a lower supporting panel that is slidably connected to the other side of the upper supporting panel; and a rear connecting panel hinged to the lower supporting panel at one end thereof, provided with at least one screw hole in a center thereof, and fixed to the rear of the display apparatus.
[4] The shelf as set forth in claim 1 or 2, further comprising a connector panel that is formed in a shape of a plate located between the base and the coupling panel, is hinged to one side of a top of the coupling panel at one end thereof, and is attached to the base on a top thereof so as to adjust an angle between the plate member and the coupling panel.
[5] A shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), the shelf comprising: a plate member having a base, and a receiving space on a top thereof; a frame, formed of a pair of wires, which are parallel to each other in the same plane for a predetermined length so as to withstand a load of the plate member; and provided with a length adjuster adjusting an entire length thereof at a center thereof, side supports attached downwards at opposite ends thereof to be in close contact with opposite upper sides of the display apparatus, angle adjustors near the side supports so as to adjust an angle between each side support and each upper side of the display apparatus, height adjustors at the rear thereof so as to support a load of the plate member, and upper coupling hinges formed upwards; and a connector panel formed in a shape of a plate attached to a bottom of the base, coupled to the upper coupling hinges at one end thereof, and adjusting an angle between the plate member and the frame.
[6] The shelf as set forth in claim 5, wherein the connector panel is rounded at opposite ends thereof, and further comprises hooks that are rounded to correspond to the opposite ends of the connector panel, and are provided left and right relative to a bottom of the base so as to be detachably coupled to the connector panel up and down.
[7] The shelf as set forth in any one of claims 1, 2 and 5, further comprising: a sliding main body located in the receiving space formed on one side of the plate member, and formed to slide through an opening formed in one side of a front sidewall; and any one selected from among: a mirror that is held by the spherical hinge on one side thereof, is held by a detachable ring on another side thereof, and is attached to a front of the main body; a paper holder that is connected to move into and out of an opening formed in any one of sidewalls; and a cup container that is provided with a slot having the same shape as the sidewall at a bottom thereof so as to be fitted with the sidewall.
[8] A shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), the shelf comprising: a first plate member formed in a shape of a plate so as to allow the necessary articles to be placed thereon, and having one side of a bottom thereof located at the top of the display apparatus having a base; first supporting frames located at the bottom of the first plate member so as to support a load of the first plate member; and a first coupling member interconnecting the first supporting frames and the display apparatus such that the first plate member is fixed to the display apparatus, wherein each of the first supporting frames includes: a first upper support having an upper end thereof located at the bottom of the first plate member so as to support the first plate member; and a first lower support hinged pivotably to a lower end of the first upper support by means of a first hinge, wherein any one of the bottom of the first plate member and a top of the first upper support is provided with a guide rail and a rail clamp formed to correspond to the guide rail so as to slide on the guide rail.
[9] The shelf as set forth in claim 8, wherein the first coupling member includes: first and second supports that are disposed on a rear of the display apparatus, are each bent at opposite ends thereof so as to press a corresponding side of the display apparatus; first and second connectors causing the first support and the second support to be connected with the first lower supports; an interval adjuster interconnecting the first support and the second support with each other so as to adjust an interval between the first support and the second support; and first and second contact fixtures coupled to the opposite ends of each of the first support and the second support at one side of each thereof, and contacting the corresponding side of the display apparatus at the other side of each thereof.
[10] The shelf as set forth in claim 8, wherein the rear of the display apparatus is provided with at least one receiving recess, the first coupling member is provided with a shaft so as to be inserted into the receiving recess, and each of the first supporting frames is fixed and supported to the shaft.
[11] A shelf for a display apparatus, which allows necessary articles to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), the shelf comprising: a second plate member formed in a shape of a plate so as to allow the necessary articles to be placed thereon, and having one side thereof located at a rear top of the display apparatus having a base; second supporting frames located at a bottom of the second plate member so as to support a load of the second plate member; and a second coupling member located on a rear of the display apparatus, and connected with the second supporting frames, wherein the second coupling member includes: a third support coupler having a support part that has a shape of a rectangular bar, is located on a rear of the display apparatus, is bent at opposite ends thereof, and is in close contact with opposite sides of the display apparatus; a frame connector protruding from the support part of the third support coupler at a position corresponding to the second supporting frames; and a second hinge pivotably connecting the third support coupler and the frame connector.
[12] The shelf as set forth in claim 11, wherein the third support coupler further includes; hook parts that protrude from opposite ends of the support part and are in close contact with a front of the display apparatus; and positioning parts formed of a rubber material and preventing sliding at opposite sides of the display apparatus or at the front of the display apparatus.
[13] A shelf for a display apparatus, which allows at least one necessary article to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), the shelf comprising: a plate member formed in a shape of a plate so as to allow the necessary article to be placed thereon, and having one side thereof located at a rear upper side of the display apparatus having a base; and connecting members interconnecting the plate member and the display apparatus such that the plate member is fixed to the display apparatus, wherein each of the connecting members includes a connecting knob formed on one of one side of the plate member and a rear of the display apparatus, and a knob recess formed to correspond to the connecting knob such that the connecting knob is inserted thereinto, and the connecting knob and the knob recess are hinged to each other by means of a first hinge pin.
[14] A shelf for a display apparatus, which allows at least one necessary article to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), the shelf comprising: a plate member formed in a shape of a plate so as to allow the necessary article to be placed thereon, and having one side thereof located at a rear upper side of the display apparatus having a base; and connecting members interconnecting the plate member and the display apparatus such that the plate member is fixed to the display apparatus, wherein each of the connecting members includes a first recess formed in one side of the plate member, a second recess recessed from a rear upper side of the display apparatus at a position corresponding to the first recess, a connector inserted into the first recess at one end thereof and the second recess at the other end thereof, a second hinge pin passing through the first recess and one end of the connector so that the first recess is hinged with one end of the connector, and a third hinge pin passing through the second recess and another end of the connector so that the second recess is hinged with the other end of the connector. [15] The shelf as set forth in claim 13 or 14, wherein: the article includes an auxiliary display apparatus; the plate member is provided with at least one screw hole therein such that the auxiliary display apparatus is fixed to the plate member; and a fastening screw is screwed into the auxiliary display apparatus through the screw hole. [16] A shelf for a display apparatus, which allows at least one necessary article to be placed on a top of the display apparatus, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) or a plasma display panel (PDP), the shelf comprising: a rotating base supporting a lower portion of an LCD monitor or a laptop computer, and formed so as to be able to rotate relative to a ground; a stand formed upwards on one side of the rotating base such that a height of the stand can be adjusted; and a plate member formed to allow the article to be placed thereon, and coupled to an upper end of the stand on one side thereof. [17] The shelf as set forth in claim 16, further comprising a mount member having legs that move in and out in opposite directions at a lower portion of the rotating base so as to adjust an interval between the legs, wherein the lower portion of the rotating base forms a space for receiving a product such as a keyboard. [18] The shelf as set forth in claim 16, wherein a lower end of the stand and an upper side of the rotating base, or the plate member and an upper end of the stand, are pivotably hinged to each other. [19] The shelf as set forth in claim 16, wherein: the stand is horizontally provided with a guide shaft on an upper end thereof; the plate member is provided with a slidable coupler fitted around the guide shaft on a lower portion thereof; and the plate member changes in position when sliding along the guide shaft of the stand. [20] The shelf as set forth in claim 16, wherein: the stand is provided with an angle adjuster that can be pivoted forwards up and down at a predetermined position thereof; and the angle adjuster supports a bottom or rear of the laptop computer at a specific position.
