Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for limiting the sleeping positions of babies or toddlers.
- SIDS Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
- Object of the present invention is to develop a device for babies or toddlers, with the help of which it can be prevented that the children rotate during sleep in the prone position. At the same time, the children should have sufficient freedom of movement, which allows them, for example, to turn to sleep in the lateral position.
- the object is achieved in that at the front of the child, a structure is attached, wherein the structure at least partially rotates when turning the child about the body longitudinal axis and from a certain angle with the sleeping pad as a counterpart resistance to the rotational movement, so that a prone position is prevented.
- a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention is to integrate the structure on the front of a children's sleeping bag.
- This construction has many advantages.
- the structure need not be attached to the child with additional aids such as a belt or vest.
- the child does not feel any disturbing objects such as a belt on the body.
- the parents have no additional effort with the attachment of the body, but you put your child only in the children's sleeping bag to sleep.
- the integration of the structure in a children's sleeping bag ensures that, in contrast to straps, the child gets no pressure sores on the body.
- the structure may be a lightweight but relatively rigid foam body secured to the front of a children's sleeping bag.
- a bag is sewn to the front of the sleeping bag into which the body is inserted.
- the bag can also be closed with a zipper or buttons. If the sleeping bag should be washed you can remove the body from the bag.
- the structure is sewn into the children's sleeping bag.
- the body has elastic properties.
- the sleeping bag should be close to the child, especially in the chest area, so that the body moves when the child turns. It is advantageous if the sleeping bag is adjustable in its width. This can be ensured for example by special necking or by Gürte.
- lightweight plastic body can be used.
- hollow bodies are used for this purpose.
- the bodies on the child-facing side are adapted to the shape of the child's body.
- the body may be flattened or slightly concave.
- the body can have different shapes.
- the child can turn laterally to a certain angle while sleeping. The angle of rotation moves between 0 ° (full supine position) and 180 ° (full prone position). At an angle of 90 °, the child is exactly in the lateral position.
- the structure in such a way that the maximum possible rotation angle is greater than 45 ° and / or less than 135 °.
- a semi-ellipsoid has proven to be particularly suitable as a body shape. It can either be a symmetrical semi-ellipsoid, such as half a rugby ball or half an American football, or it can be an asymmetric semi-ellipsoid, such as a half egg.
- a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention is the bag in which the structure is or to construct the structure itself as a stuffed animal. This contributes significantly to the fact that the child accepts the structure and does not feel distracting.
- the bag is made of a fabric that simulates the structure of an animal's fur.
- the design still includes the design of an animal's face.
- Special buttons can be attached as stuffed animal eyes on the bag or on the body itself.
- a stuffed animal nose and a stuffed animal mouth can be embroidered.
- the structure is designed as a semi-ellipsoidal body.
- the structure is preferably mounted in the chest and / or abdomen area of the child.
- the structure should be maximum from below the neck of the child to his hips pass. This gives the child the opportunity to use the legs in the sleeping bag in the direction of the chest. This freedom of movement is necessary for many children, so that they can turn to the side.
- At least one strip is attached to the front of the child, which protrudes from the front of the child.
- the strips can be plugged into special bags that are attached to the sleeping bag. It is particularly advantageous if it involves elastic strips. These can be placed in pockets on the front of the sleeping bag and removed if necessary for washing the sleeping bag. About the inclination angle of the strips, the maximum angle of rotation and thus the freedom of movement of the child can be controlled during sleep. There is also the possibility to merge the two strips on the edge facing away from the child, so that the front body of the child with the two strips forms a triangle.
- FIG. 1 is a children's sleeping bag 1 shown on which a body 2 is attached. It is a wedge-shaped body that is attached to the front of the sleeping bag 1 in the chest area of the child. If the child turns around the body longitudinal axis 3, the body 2 rotates. From a certain angle, the structure 2 touches the mattress and rests with its side surface 4 on the mattress. The child can then no longer turn in that direction and remains lying on its side. A rotation in the opposite direction is possible until the body 2 again touches the sleeping pad with the other flat side 4 of the body. The end faces 5 of the body 2 usually do not touch the mattress.
- the horizontal cross-sectional area is rectangular. The largest horizontal cross-sectional area of the wedge rests on the child's front body. The further you move away from the child, the smaller the horizontal becomes
- the horizontal cross-sectional area of the structure is smaller on the side facing away from the child than on the side facing the child.
- FIG. 2 is a children's sleeping bag 1 shown with a structure 2, which is designed as a pyramid-shaped body.
- the device is similar in its operation largely in FIG. 1 illustrated device.
- the pyramidal shape has the advantage that the end faces 5 of the body are flattened and thus less disturbing the child during breathing, for example. Furthermore, this results in a saving of material which makes the structure 2 lighter and possibly also less expensive.
- FIG. 3 is a children's sleeping bag 1 shown on which a structure 2 is mounted, which is designed as a semi-cylindrical body and which is attached to the chest of the child on the front of the sleeping bag 1. If the child turns around the body longitudinal axis 3, the body 2 rotates. From a certain angle of rotation of the structure 2 touches the mattress. The structure rolls on the lateral surface 6 of the half-cylinder. The base surfaces 7 of the half-cylinder usually do not touch the mattress. The base surfaces 7 may be flattened on the child-facing side. In this way the breathing of the child is less disturbed.
- FIG. 4 is a structure that is designed in the form of two strips 9, which are attached to the left and right of the chest area of the children's sleeping bag 1.
- the two strips 9 are connected to a cross brace 10, which support the strips 9 mutually. The child can turn so far until one of the outer side surfaces 4 of the strips 9 rests on the sleeping pad. About the inclination angle of the strips, the maximum angle of rotation can be adjusted.
- the construction of the device in FIG. 5 corresponds largely to the construction of the device in FIG. 4 with the difference that the cross brace 10 is omitted and the two strips 9 are connected to the edge facing away from the child 11 and form in this way with the chest of the child a triangle.
- FIG. 6 is a children's sleeping bag 1 shown.
- a zipper half 12 is sewn.
- the corresponding counter zipper half 14 is sewn with which the bag 13 on the zipper half 12 on the children's sleeping bag 1 can be attached. Accordingly, the bag 13 can also be removed from the sleeping bag 1 via the zipper 12, 14.
- the zipper half 12 is sewn in the form of an ellipse on the sleeping bag 1.
- the edge of the pocket 13 also has an elliptical shape.
- shoulder straps 15 are attached to its back, which are guided around the shoulders of the child and attached to the front of the sleeping bag 1 via buttons 16. If the child turns around the body longitudinal axis 3, the shoulder straps 15 cause the sleeping bag 1 to rotate with it.
- the shoulder straps 15 are adjustable in their width.
- the children's sleeping bag 1 itself can be opened via a side zipper 21.
- FIG. 7 a foam body is shown in plan view.
- the body has the shape of a semi-ellipsoid. This form has been found to be particularly suitable as a structure 2, since the prone position is effectively prevented and the body still has a soft language that appeals to potential buyers of the product. Furthermore, the semi-ellipsoidal shape offers the opportunity to construct the structure as a stuffed animal, for example as a hedgehog, mouse, seal or beetle.
- the display body is elastic and provides resistance to the child's rotational movement. It is still lightweight and breathable.
- FIG. 8 is the foam body off FIG. 7 shown in the side view.
- FIG. 9 is the foam body of the FIGS. 7 or 8 inserted into the pocket 13.
- the bag 13 is designed to be filled by the body.
- the bag can be attached to the sleeping bag 1 and the foam body lies on the front of the sleeping bag with its flat side and forms a structure 2, from a certain angle of rotation of the child around the body longitudinal axis 3, a resistance to the Rotary movement exercises.
- the bag 13 can be removed together with foam body from the sleeping bag 1. This is particularly beneficial if the sleeping bag 1 is to be washed. By removing bag 13 and foam body, the sleeping bag can be reshaped into a standard children's sleeping bag.
- FIG. 10 The zipper is closed and the bag is on the front of the children's sleeping bag 1 in the chest and partial abdominal area of the child.
- the body 2 rotates.
- FIG. 11 shows the structure 2, which touches the sleeping pad 17 with its side surface. Against a further rotational movement of the child beyond the lateral position, a resistance is exercised, so that the prone position is prevented. The structure only reaches approximately to the hip of the child, so that the child has the opportunity to put his legs to sleep.
- the structure 2 is constructed as a stuffed animal. This contributes significantly to the fact that the child accepts the structure 2 and does not feel annoying.
- the bag 13 is made of a fabric that simulates the structure of an animal's fur. The design still includes the design of an animal's face.
- special buttons are attached as stuffed animal eyes 18 on the front side of the structure 2.
- a stuffed animal nose 19 and a stuffed animal mouth 20 are embroidered.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for limiting the sleeping positions of babies or toddlers.
Numerous studies have shown that the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, also known as SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), can be significantly reduced if the baby's prone position during sleep is avoided. In the first weeks of life, the child remains to lie on his back while sleeping by himself, because it can not turn by itself. With increasing life months, however, the child is able to change his position during sleep and to turn into the unwanted prone position.
Some parents try to prevent this by tying or strapping their children to the mattress or bed. Children's sleeping bags manufacturers have developed wide fixation straps that are attached to the sides of the baby sleeping bag. With these straps, the child can be fixed for example via Velcro fasteners on the mattress or on the bed in the supine position. Through these measures, however, the child has only a very limited range of motion during sleep. Many children prevent this fixation from falling asleep or waking them up during the night. Furthermore, there is the risk, for example with Velcro straps, that the children tear off the fixing straps during sleep.
Object of the present invention is to develop a device for babies or toddlers, with the help of which it can be prevented that the children rotate during sleep in the prone position. At the same time, the children should have sufficient freedom of movement, which allows them, for example, to turn to sleep in the lateral position.
The object is achieved in that at the front of the child, a structure is attached, wherein the structure at least partially rotates when turning the child about the body longitudinal axis and from a certain angle with the sleeping pad as a counterpart resistance to the rotational movement, so that a prone position is prevented.
A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention is to integrate the structure on the front of a children's sleeping bag. This construction has many advantages. The structure need not be attached to the child with additional aids such as a belt or vest. The child does not feel any disturbing objects such as a belt on the body. Furthermore, the parents have no additional effort with the attachment of the body, but you put your child only in the children's sleeping bag to sleep. The integration of the structure in a children's sleeping bag ensures that, in contrast to straps, the child gets no pressure sores on the body.
For example, the structure may be a lightweight but relatively rigid foam body secured to the front of a children's sleeping bag. Preferably, a bag is sewn to the front of the sleeping bag into which the body is inserted. The bag can also be closed with a zipper or buttons. If the sleeping bag should be washed you can remove the body from the bag.
It is also possible that the structure is sewn into the children's sleeping bag.
It is particularly favorable if it is an at least partially dimensionally stable body.
It has proved to be advantageous that the body has elastic properties.
Children's sleeping bags are usually equipped with shoulder straps. The shoulder straps ensure that when the child turns, the child sleeping bag and thus the body rotate with it.
The sleeping bag should be close to the child, especially in the chest area, so that the body moves when the child turns. It is advantageous if the sleeping bag is adjustable in its width. This can be ensured for example by special necking or by Gürte.
As a construction, lightweight plastic body can be used. Preferably, hollow bodies are used for this purpose.
As a structure, different body shapes such as a wedge shape, a pyramid shape, a semi-cylindrical shape or a hemisphere shape can be used. Preferably, the bodies on the child-facing side are adapted to the shape of the child's body. For this, the body may be flattened or slightly concave. As already mentioned, the body can have different shapes. Depending on the design, the child can turn laterally to a certain angle while sleeping. The angle of rotation moves between 0 ° (full supine position) and 180 ° (full prone position). At an angle of 90 °, the child is exactly in the lateral position. To be particularly advantageous, it has been found that the structure in such a way that the maximum possible rotation angle is greater than 45 ° and / or less than 135 °.
A semi-ellipsoid has proven to be particularly suitable as a body shape. It can either be a symmetrical semi-ellipsoid, such as half a rugby ball or half an American football, or it can be an asymmetric semi-ellipsoid, such as a half egg.
A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention is the bag in which the structure is or to construct the structure itself as a stuffed animal. This contributes significantly to the fact that the child accepts the structure and does not feel distracting. For this, the bag is made of a fabric that simulates the structure of an animal's fur. The design still includes the design of an animal's face. Special buttons can be attached as stuffed animal eyes on the bag or on the body itself. Furthermore, a stuffed animal nose and a stuffed animal mouth can be embroidered. As a basis for the stuffed toy construction, it is particularly advantageous if the structure is designed as a semi-ellipsoidal body.
It is particularly favorable if the horizontal cross-sectional areas of the construction on the side facing away from the child are smaller than on the side facing the child. If a child, despite the structure briefly bring with too much momentum in the prone position, so this version causes a reverse rotation in the side position or supine position.
The structure is preferably mounted in the chest and / or abdomen area of the child. The structure should be maximum from below the neck of the child to his hips pass. This gives the child the opportunity to use the legs in the sleeping bag in the direction of the chest. This freedom of movement is necessary for many children, so that they can turn to the side.
Another possible embodiment of the structure is that at least one strip is attached to the front of the child, which protrudes from the front of the child.
It is also possible to attach at least two strips, left and right on the abdominal side of the child. The strips can be plugged into special bags that are attached to the sleeping bag.
