Abstract

Beim Klebebinden von in einer Fördereinrichtung (5) gehaltenen, aus mehreren Falzbogen und/oder Blättern gebildeten Buchblocks (2), bei dem geschmolzener Klebstoff auf den Blockrücken aufgetragen wird, ist verfahrensgemäß vorgesehen, dass für eine dem Klebstoffauftragen nachfolgende individuelle Behandlung des Buchblocks (2) der aufgetragene Klebstoff von gekühlter Luft derart beaufschlagt wird, dass sich eine für die jeweilige nachfolgende Behandlung erforderliche Klebstofffilmbildungsphase zeitgenau ausbildet. Die Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens besteht aus einer der Beleimeinrichtung (9.1, 9.2) nachgeordneten, auf den aufgetragenen Klebstoff einwirkenden Kühlluftzuführvorrichtung (21, 22, 23) und einer zugeordneten Steuerungseinrichtung (24 a, 26, 28) zur Ermittlung und Einstellung eines erforderlichen Intensitätsgrads der zugeführten Kühlluft. Die Abkühlung wird beschleunigt, wodurch sich eine definierte Verkürzung der klebstoffoffenen Zeit erzielen lässt.
