Definitions
- the invention relates to a board for gliding for the practice of winter sports.
- the invention relates to a gliding board for the practice of new snow sliding activities, such as for example freestyle or freeride.
- Freestyle consists in particular in the realization of figures, jumps.
- Freeride is a free and varied practice of the mountain. The practitioner descends the slopes on the slopes or off the slopes in any type of snow such as powdery snow.
- any type of snow such as powdery snow.
- swallowtail skis An example of this type of ski is described in the document DE 27 04 858 .
- This type of ski is particularly suitable for use in powder snow or fresh snow.
- the swallowtail ski also facilitates torsional deformation while keeping the ski flat. Indeed, thanks to the possibility of movement relative to each other that have the two rear ends of the ski, they can more easily stay flat on the snow. It is this flat support of the rear ends of the ski that gives this kind of ski a better feeling of "slide", that is to say, a better feeling of skidding.
- skis have, however, many limitations on the one hand because they are very flexible. Thus the bending deformation in the rear zone is very important. This is why these skis are not recommended for freestyle use or freeride use. In reception jumps these skis will not offer enough support to the user.
- the document FR 2 794 374 describes a ski with variable geometry. Expansion means are placed in notches in the rear, front or in the central part. These expansion means can stiffen the ski at the notches.
- the object of the present invention is to improve the operation of the swallowtail skis.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a ski that is rigid for freeride or freestyle practice in particular to improve the reception of jumps.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a ski tolerant torsion in its rear part.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a ski which improves the feeling of sliding and in particular which improves the feeling of slide at the end of the turn.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a gliding board that offers modularity to the manufacturer, the retailer or the user.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a gliding board having a gliding sole whose shape is not flat, it may be convex or concave.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a ski that has the above characteristics.
- the present invention has the aim of providing a method of machining a ski that does not have planar sliding surfaces.
- a snowboard for practicing winter sports characterized in that it comprises a blank board of slides, which glide board blank having an elongated notch at its rear end, and a stiffening insert inserted into said elongated notch and attached to said gliding board blank such that there is no movement relative between said stiffening insert and said gliding board.
- a gliding board comprising an upper subassembly, a lower subassembly and an intermediate core, said upper subassembly comprising a first longitudinal opening, said subassembly lower head comprising a second longitudinal opening and said intermediate core comprising a third longitudinal opening, each of said first, second and third longitudinal openings being located at the rear end of said gliding board; characterized in that the gliding board further comprises a stiffening member which is inserted simultaneously into said second and third longitudinal openings.
- said stiffening element is inserted simultaneously into said first, second and third openings.
- said stiffening element may take several forms, and in particular, it has a lower face which can be flat, curved or convex.
- said stiffening element comprises an anterior portion inserted in said first, second and third openings and a posterior portion out of said openings and which therefore constitutes the rear end of said gliding board.
- said first longitudinal opening is substantially narrower than said second and third longitudinal openings.
- said stiffening element is removable after manufacture of said gliding board.
- the object of the invention is also achieved by the implementation of a method of manufacturing a gliding board which consists of the production of a gliding board blank having an elongated notch at its rear end, at a distance of inserting inside said elongated notch a stiffening insert and then attaching said stiffening insert to said board blank so that no relative movement is possible between said stiffening insert and said blank sliding board.
- the figure 1 describes a perspective view of a gliding board according to a first embodiment of the invention.
- This comprises a blank board 15 and a stiffening insert 8.
- the blank board 15 is made as a finished ski and that it is only at the end of the process embodiment of the gliding board that is inserted the stiffening insert 8.
- the rear end of the gliding board blank 15 comprises an elongated notch 16.
- the contour of the end of the gliding board blank 15 is that of a so-called swallow-tail gliding board.
- the stiffening insert 8 Inside the elongated notch 16 formed in the rear end of the gliding board blank 15 is inserted the stiffening insert 8.
- the stiffening insert comprises two portions, an anterior portion 11 and a posterior portion 12.
- the anterior portion 11 is integrally inserted and housed within the elongated notch 16 of the gliding board blank 15.
- the portion posterior 12 of the stiffening insert 8 protrudes from the elongate notch and thus constitutes the rear end of the gliding board 1 once it is complete.
- the manufacture of a gliding board according to the invention consists in producing a gliding board blank comprising an elongated notch and then inserting a stiffening insert into said elongated notch.
- the rough glide board can be made as would be a gliding board according to the prior art. That is, according to everything known manufacturing process.
- the two commonly used methods are glue technology, where all the components of the gliding board are placed in a mold that is pressed and heated, or injected technology, where all the constituent elements, except the core, are placed in a mold which is then closed and inside which is injected a foam which hardening will form the core.
- glue technology where all the components of the gliding board are placed in a mold that is pressed and heated
- injected technology where all the constituent elements, except the core, are placed in a mold which is then closed and inside which is injected a foam which hardening will form the core.
- There are also other hybrid methods of these two processes in which part of the
- the figures 2 and 3 describe a method of manufacturing the gliding board according to the invention.
- the method of manufacturing a gliding board according to the invention comprises the following steps.
- the upper subassembly 2 comprises at least one top layer which ensures the protection of the slide board and the decoration of the latter.
- the upper subassembly optionally contains one or more reinforcing layers.
- the upper subassembly may also contain other elements such as an interface for fixing the fasteners to the ski in the case where they are attached to the gliding board during the manufacture of the latter.
- the lower subassembly 3 comprises in a known manner edges, which are mostly metal and a sliding sole 14 and a reinforcement 17.
- finishing spacer 18 and the stiffening insert 8 will be described in more detail below.
- a first longitudinal opening 5 is provided at the rear end of the upper subassembly 2.
- a second opening 6 is provided at the rear end of the lower subset.
- a third opening 7 is also provided at the rear end of the intermediate core.
- the first, the second and the third openings are substantially of equal size. On the other hand, they will be superimposed and aligned vertically when the upper subassembly, the lower subset and the core will themselves be superimposed.
- the next step is a first finishing phase.
- the first finishing phase includes the lateral deburring of said board blank.
- Lateral deburring is a common operation in the manufacture of gliding board, it consists in trimming the superfluous upper subassembly that protrudes from the edges when the blank board slides out of the mold.
- the upper subassembly 2 is placed in the mold without the first opening being provided. It is then during this first finishing phase that the first opening 5 is cut in the upper subassembly.
- the roughing board blank 15 comprises in its rear part an elongated notch, which is constituted by the superposition of the first opening 5, the third opening 7 and the second opening 6.
- the elongated notch 16 has a "V" contour designed to facilitate the insertion of the stiffening insert and the finishing spacer.
- the next step consists of placing a finishing spacer 18 in the elongated slot.
- the finishing spacer 18 is a rigid piece whose shape is rigorously complementary to that of the elongated notch 16. Its lower surface is flush with the surface of the sliding sole, or slightly recessed relative thereto.
- the step following the establishment of the finishing spacer 18 in the elongated cut 16 is a second finishing phase. During this second phase of finishing, the gliding sole and the edges are machined.
- the last two steps consist, on the one hand, in inserting the stiffening insert into the elongated notch and, on the other hand, in attaching the stiffening insert to the board blank.
- the method of manufacturing a gliding board that precedes relates to a method of manufacture in which the intermediate core is prepared before it is placed in the mold.
- the method of manufacture according to the invention can equally well apply in the case where the intermediate core is made in the mold and not before its introduction. This is particularly the case for injected slides.
- the step of preparing the intermediate core is replaced by a step of injecting the material of the core into the mold.
- the stiffening insert is embedded in the board blank 15.
- the embedding is guaranteed by the fact that the first opening 5 formed in the upper subassembly is slightly smaller than the second 6 and the third openings 7 respectively provided in the lower subset and in the core.
- a peripheral groove 19 is formed on the periphery of the stiffening insert 8. The groove 19 is dimensioned so that the upper subassembly can be inserted therein.
- a screw 20 holds it on the gliding board blank.
- stiffening insert with one or more screws 20 allows the user to dismount the stiffening insert and replace it with another stiffening insert. It is thus possible to provide different stiffening inserts for different uses. It is also possible to provide stiffening inserts of different shapes for different practices. Finally, it is possible to provide stiffening inserts of different materials so as to give the gliding board different behaviors in flexion, torsion, etc. .
- the stiffening insert described in Figures 4 and 5 comprises a concave lower face.
- a concave underside makes it possible to improve the lift of the rear end of the gliding board. Improved lift is useful for use in powdery snow, but also on packed snow, for example, for freestyle use, when receiving jumps.
- the concave lower face of the stiffening insert 8 is flush with the lower surface of the sliding sole 14.
- the stiffening insert 8 is attached to the gliding board blank by non-removable means.
- the end user is not allowed to modify the ski by changing the stiffening insert.
- it is a modularity for the gliding board manufacturer. Indeed it can make different skis on the basis of the same draft board gliding.
- the stiffening insert is fixed to the gliding board blank by means that are difficult to dismount.
- a hardly removable means is not intended to be disassembled by the end user.
- it can be dismantled by a professional, for example by a retailer or a snowboard repairer.
- the objective sought by such a variant is to allow professionals to dismantle the stiffening insert to be able to remodel the edges or gliding sole.
- the upper subassembly and the lower subassembly each comprise a fiber reinforcement which is impregnated with resin before being put into the mold.
- the reticulated resin hardens.
- the overflow of resin evacuates and realizes in particular skin 9 vertical on the periphery of the elongated notch. This skin 9 guarantees the waterproofness of the gliding board at the notch.
- the figure 6 discloses a perspective view of a second embodiment of the invention.
- the gliding board described therein comprises, as in the previous embodiment, a gliding board blank 15 and a stiffening insert 8.
- the stiffening insert 8 comprises an anterior portion 11 inserted into an elongated notch in the blank gliding board, and a rear portion 12 which protrudes from the blank board glide and realizes the rear end of the gliding board.
- a slot 22 is formed in the rear portion 12 of the stiffening insert 8. This slot has the effect of lightening the gliding board and to remind the swallow tail shape of the gliding board blank. This slot also serves to allow the attachment of seal skin for the practice of ski touring.
- the Figures 7 and 8 respectively show a partial longitudinal sectional view of the gliding board described in FIG. figure 6 and a cross section of the gliding board.
- the stiffening insert 8 differs from the insert described in the first embodiment in that its lower face 21 is curved.
- a gliding board equipped with a stiffening insert having a domed or convex underside will provide the user with better control.
- the domed portion of the insert serves as a drift at the rear end of the gliding board.
- such a gliding board will ensure the user better control of the slide, that is to say skidding.
- the figure 9 shows a cross-sectional view of a sliding board 1 equipped with a stiffening insert 8 according to a third embodiment of the invention.
- This insert is partially similar to the inserts described above, so it will not be here detailed description of the latter.
- the stiffening insert 8 has a flat bottom face.
- the stiffening insert 8 is inserted into the elongated notch of the gliding board blank 1, the lower face of the insert is in the same plane as the lower surface of the soleplate. slips. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to remove the stiffening insert of the notch to be able to remanufacture the gliding surface of the gliding board.
- the manufacture of a gliding board according to the third embodiment of the invention is a little simpler because it is not necessary to provide a finishing spacer.
- the first finishing phase comprises the cutting of a first longitudinal opening in said upper subassembly 2.
- this is the step of preparing the upper subassembly 2 which comprises cutting a first longitudinal opening.
- the second finishing phase which comprises the machining of said sliding sole 14 and edges 13 can be performed after the insertion of the stiffening insert.

The stiffening insert comprises two portions, an
The manufacture of a gliding board according to the invention consists in producing a gliding board blank comprising an elongated notch and then inserting a stiffening insert into said elongated notch. The rough glide board can be made as would be a gliding board according to the prior art. That is, according to everything known manufacturing process. Currently the two commonly used methods are glue technology, where all the components of the gliding board are placed in a mold that is pressed and heated, or injected technology, where all the constituent elements, except the core, are placed in a mold which is then closed and inside which is injected a foam which hardening will form the core. There are also other hybrid methods of these two processes in which part of the core is prepared before being put in the mold, while the rest of the core is made by injection.

The method of manufacturing a gliding board according to the invention comprises the following steps.
First of all there are the different stages of preparation of the various constituents of the gliding board according to the invention. Among these steps, there is the step of preparing an
In the rest of the description we will not go into detail of all the preparation steps, some of which are widely known in the previous state.
Among the steps known and not described here in detail, there are the steps of preparation of the upper subsets, the steps of preparation of the lower subsets, and the steps of preparation of the intermediate core.
The
The finishing
After the various stages of preparation of the constituents of the gliding board, come the steps of producing the
These steps begin with the step of setting up the
The first, the second and the third openings are substantially of equal size. On the other hand, they will be superimposed and aligned vertically when the upper subassembly, the lower subset and the core will themselves be superimposed.
The next step is a first finishing phase.
The first finishing phase includes the lateral deburring of said board blank. Lateral deburring is a common operation in the manufacture of gliding board, it consists in trimming the superfluous upper subassembly that protrudes from the edges when the blank board slides out of the mold.
In an alternative embodiment, the
The
The next step consists of placing a finishing
The step following the establishment of the finishing
Once machining is finished, remove the finishing spacer. The board sketch is now complete.
The last two steps consist, on the one hand, in inserting the stiffening insert into the elongated notch and, on the other hand, in attaching the stiffening insert to the board blank.
The method of manufacturing a gliding board that precedes relates to a method of manufacture in which the intermediate core is prepared before it is placed in the mold. However, the method of manufacture according to the invention can equally well apply in the case where the intermediate core is made in the mold and not before its introduction. This is particularly the case for injected slides.
For the manufacture of an injected gliding board is placed in the mold a lower subassembly, an upper subassembly. We close the mold and then inject the material that will form the intermediate core. Consequently, in an alternative manufacturing method according to the invention, the step of preparing the intermediate core is replaced by a step of injecting the material of the core into the mold.

In another variant embodiment of the invention, the
In another variant embodiment of the invention, the stiffening insert is fixed to the gliding board blank by means that are difficult to dismount. A hardly removable means is not intended to be disassembled by the end user. However it can be dismantled by a professional, for example by a retailer or a snowboard repairer. The objective sought by such a variant is to allow professionals to dismantle the stiffening insert to be able to remodel the edges or gliding sole.
The gliding board described therein comprises, as in the previous embodiment, a gliding

When used in powder snow, a gliding board equipped with a stiffening insert having a domed or convex underside, will provide the user with better control. The domed portion of the insert serves as a drift at the rear end of the gliding board. When used on the track, such a gliding board will ensure the user better control of the slide, that is to say skidding.
On the other hand, the manufacture of a gliding board according to the third embodiment of the invention is a little simpler because it is not necessary to provide a finishing spacer.
