Abstract

The invention provides a circuit for detecting solenoid valve operation in a CIJ printer. The circuit detects current draw by the solenoid coils and thus obviates the difficulties of determining solenoid operation by monitoring downstream parameters. A single sensing circuit is preferably provided to detect the operation of all solenoids, the output of which can be compared to other printer functions to identify the particular source of an output signal.
