Claims (16)

  1. A turning key (1) for profile cylinders (19), whereby the turning key (1) on both of its narrow edges (4) is provided with mirror-image incisions (6) of varying depths in order to position pin tumblers, whereby the incisions (6) are mirror images with regard to both turning positions of the key, recesses (8) being provided in said turning key on both wide sides (5) of the key shaft (2) beginning from the key tip (7) and extending part of the way towards the key head (3), characterized in that each of the two recesses (8) begins on the key tip (7) with a cutout of constant width (17), to which a cutout of lesser with (17a) is joined in the direction of the key head, and in that each recess forms at least two different variation edges (12, 13) that are independent of each other and that run transverse (11) to the longitudinal direction (9) of the key shaft (2), said variation edges via the respective recess (8) both being accessible from the key tip (7) independently of each other, and in that both variation edges of one wide side are also matching mirror images of both variation edges of the other wide side with respect to the two turning positions of the key.

  3. The turning key (1) as recited in Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that each recess (8) begins on the key tip (7) with a cutout of constant width (17), to which is joined a cutout of lesser width (17a), and in that the variation edges (12, 13) are formed at the end of each cutout.
  4. The turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that each recess (8) has a constant depth over its entire length (18).

  7. The system as recited in Claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the turning keys of the lowest hierarchy (22) are not provided with any recesses having the features of any of Claims 1 to 4 or 6.
  8. A profile cylinder (19) and a turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 1 to 7, whereby the profile cylinder (19) in its bar area (23) is furnished with pin tumblers (24) that are arranged in a single row and that are oriented by the incisions (6) in the turning key (1) that is inserted into the keyway (26), characterized in that within the lock core (25) of the profile cylinder (19) a variation slider (27) is provided which has limit stop extensions (28, 29), which are arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction (9) of the keyway (26), are disposed in the transverse direction (11) at the height of one of the variation edges (12; 13) of the inserted turning key (1), and protrude from one side into the keyway (26), and in that the lock core (25) has a longitudinal recess (30) within which the variation slider (27) may be axially displaced.
  9. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in Claim 8, characterized in that the variation slider (27) rests on the interior end of the lock core (25).
  10. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 8 or 9, characterized in that the variation slider (27) may be moved to a defined end position by a spring (31) in the direction of the exterior end of the lock core (25).
  11. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 8 to 10, characterized in that the longitudinal recess (30) within the lock core (25), which receives the variation slider (27), is crossed by a recess (38) that runs secantially within the lock core (25), and in that the variation slider (27) in at least one pre-established axial position at its position interlocking with the recess (38) has a release cutout (32), whereby within the secantial recess (38) a transverse extension (34) of a locking bar (33) is guided, which moves between the lock core (25) and the housing of the profile cylinder (19) when the transverse extension (34) of the round cylindrical surface (35) is not located in the release cutout (32).

The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in Claim 11 or 12, characterized in that the locking bar (33) rests in a slot (37) in the housing of the profile cylinder (19), and in that said locking bar is shaped in such a way that it glides out of the slot (37) in the housing of the profile cylinder (19) when the release cutout (32) of the variation slider (27) is positioned in the release position by rotating the lock core (25).
  14. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 8 to 13, characterized in that the profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) are components of a locking apparatus made up of multiple profile cylinders and turning keys (20, 21, 22) in a pre-established hierarchy of access authorizations.
  15. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 8 to 13, characterized in that the profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) are components of a group of profile cylinders (19) and turning keys (20, 21, 22) having varying security requirements, whereby at least the profile cylinders (19) of higher security requirements are provided with variation sliders (27).
  16. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in Claim 15, characterized in that the profile cylinders (19) of lower security requirements are not provided with variation sliders.
