Description

The present invention relates to reversible key for profile cylinder Oberbergriff the main claim.

Therefore, the invention provides the advantage that an impermissible copy of such reversible key can only be produced at considerable expense, so that the reversible key according to the invention actually offers considerably better copy security than the known systems.

The reversible key according to the invention therefore opposes the interests of the consumer in terms of increased copy security, in particular also because the variation edges should preferably be perpendicular to the broad sides of the key shaft.

For the production of these geometry features alone requires a cutting tool, which stands with its axis of rotation perpendicular to the broad sides of the reversible key, such as a cylindrical milling cutter and a corresponding scanning device.

It is advantageous that both variation edges on each broad side, so a total of four variation edges per reversible key, not to look at whether they are actually provided for the operation corresponding assigned displaceable abutment surfaces in the lock cylinder or not.

However, the presence of - a total of - four variation edges can not be overlooked in the reproduction of a (inadmissible) key copy, so that already for this reason the measures of the present invention considerably complicate the production of inadmissible key copies.

In addition, the two variation edges must be arranged on each broad side of the reversible key with respect to the two possible key reversal positions mirror images of each other. This requirement requires increased manufacturing precision.

The measures of the present invention also allow the use of such reversible key and possibly assigned profile cylinder in addition to existing locking systems, because the reversible key according to the invention is indeed designed to close subordinate profile cylinder, but their reversible keys are not suitable to close parent profile cylinder.

The two variation edges are independent of each other and accessible from the key tip 7.

This means that they are arranged with respect to the longitudinal direction 9 of the key shaft, which is predetermined by the longitudinal profile of the profile ribs 10, in different transverse regions of the key shaft 2.

The first variation edge 12 is thus located in a first transverse region 14 while the second variation edge 13 is arranged in the second transverse region 15.

Both transverse regions 14, 15 have a longitudinal spacing 16 in the longitudinal direction 9, so that each variation edge 12, 13 is capable of sweeping another longitudinal region in the keyway 26 of the profile cylinder 19.

The second variation edge 13 extends in all embodiments perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and beyond in Fig.2 also the first variation edge 12.

The geometric course of the variation edge 12,13 is therefore basically arbitrary, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

The interaction of the stop extensions 28, 29 of reversible keys 1 with differently shaped recesses 8 is in the Fig.12ab, 13ab shown.

11A is a view of the variation slider 27 according to 11C from underneath.

The stop extensions 28, 29 have different profile cross-sections in such a way that with each one of the two variation edges 12, 13 and only one of the stop extensions 28, 29 cooperates.

In this regard, a comparison of the Fig.11c and d in that the distance between the effective regions of the variation edges 12, 13 can be varied with the dimensions of the variation slide 27 unchanged.

This also applies to the respective profiles of the stop extensions 28, 29 as seen from 11B results.

How to compare this FIGS. 12 and 13 shows, the frusto-conical stop extension 29 fits into a correspondingly profiled recess 8 of the reversible key 1, while the rectangular in profile stop extension 28 fits only in the corresponding recess 8 of the reversible key 1, which is also configured rectangular.

Claims (16)

1. A turning key (1) for profile cylinders (19), whereby the turning key (1) on both of its narrow edges (4) is provided with mirror-image incisions (6) of varying depths in order to position pin tumblers, whereby the incisions (6) are mirror images with regard to both turning positions of the key, recesses (8) being provided in said turning key on both wide sides (5) of the key shaft (2) beginning from the key tip (7) and extending part of the way towards the key head (3), characterized in that each of the two recesses (8) begins on the key tip (7) with a cutout of constant width (17), to which a cutout of lesser with (17a) is joined in the direction of the key head, and in that each recess forms at least two different variation edges (12, 13) that are independent of each other and that run transverse (11) to the longitudinal direction (9) of the key shaft (2), said variation edges via the respective recess (8) both being accessible from the key tip (7) independently of each other, and in that both variation edges of one wide side are also matching mirror images of both variation edges of the other wide side with respect to the two turning positions of the key.
2. The turning key (1) as recited in Claim 1, characterized in that the variation edges (12, 13) of each recess (8) extend in varying transverse areas (14, 15) of the key shaft (2), and they have a longitudinal distance (16) from each other in the longitudinal direction (9).
3. The turning key (1) as recited in Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that each recess (8) begins on the key tip (7) with a cutout of constant width (17), to which is joined a cutout of lesser width (17a), and in that the variation edges (12, 13) are formed at the end of each cutout.
4. The turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that each recess (8) has a constant depth over its entire length (18).
5. A system made up of turning keys (1) for a system made up of assigned profile cylinders (19) which have an arrangement, produced by the manufacturer, of profile ribs (10) which form individual cross-sections of the key, whereby turning keys (1) and profile cylinders (19) create access authorizations in a pre-established hierarchy in such a way that the turning keys of the highest hierarchy (20) lock all the profile cylinders, the turning keys of a lower hierarchy (21) lock profile cylinders of their hierarchy or subordinate hierarchies, and the turning keys of the lowest hierarchy (22) only lock the profile cylinders of the lowest hierarchy, characterized in that in this system at least the turning keys of the highest hierarchy (20) are provided with the features of Claims 1 to 4.

The system as recited in Claim 5, characterized in that the turning keys of a lower hierarchy (21) are provided with recesses (8) which on each wide side [are] recesses having at most one single variation edge (12; 13) as recited in any of Claims 1 to 4, said variation edges running transverse to the longitudinal direction of the key shaft and both being arranged as mirror images of each other with regard to the two turning positions of the key.
7. The system as recited in Claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the turning keys of the lowest hierarchy (22) are not provided with any recesses having the features of any of Claims 1 to 4 or 6.
8. A profile cylinder (19) and a turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 1 to 7, whereby the profile cylinder (19) in its bar area (23) is furnished with pin tumblers (24) that are arranged in a single row and that are oriented by the incisions (6) in the turning key (1) that is inserted into the keyway (26), characterized in that within the lock core (25) of the profile cylinder (19) a variation slider (27) is provided which has limit stop extensions (28, 29), which are arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction (9) of the keyway (26), are disposed in the transverse direction (11) at the height of one of the variation edges (12; 13) of the inserted turning key (1), and protrude from one side into the keyway (26), and in that the lock core (25) has a longitudinal recess (30) within which the variation slider (27) may be axially displaced.
9. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in Claim 8, characterized in that the variation slider (27) rests on the interior end of the lock core (25).
10. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 8 or 9, characterized in that the variation slider (27) may be moved to a defined end position by a spring (31) in the direction of the exterior end of the lock core (25).
11. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 8 to 10, characterized in that the longitudinal recess (30) within the lock core (25), which receives the variation slider (27), is crossed by a recess (38) that runs secantially within the lock core (25), and in that the variation slider (27) in at least one pre-established axial position at its position interlocking with the recess (38) has a release cutout (32), whereby within the secantial recess (38) a transverse extension (34) of a locking bar (33) is guided, which moves between the lock core (25) and the housing of the profile cylinder (19) when the transverse extension (34) of the round cylindrical surface (35) is not located in the release cutout (32).
12. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in Claim 11, characterized in that the locking bar (33) is acted upon by the spring (36) in the direction of the housing of the profile cylinder (19).
13. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in Claim 11 or 12, characterized in that the locking bar (33) rests in a slot (37) in the housing of the profile cylinder (19), and in that said locking bar is shaped in such a way that it glides out of the slot (37) in the housing of the profile cylinder (19) when the release cutout (32) of the variation slider (27) is positioned in the release position by rotating the lock core (25).
14. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 8 to 13, characterized in that the profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) are components of a locking apparatus made up of multiple profile cylinders and turning keys (20, 21, 22) in a pre-established hierarchy of access authorizations.
15. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in any of Claims 8 to 13, characterized in that the profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) are components of a group of profile cylinders (19) and turning keys (20, 21, 22) having varying security requirements, whereby at least the profile cylinders (19) of higher security requirements are provided with variation sliders (27).
16. The profile cylinder (19) and the turning key (1) as recited in Claim 15, characterized in that the profile cylinders (19) of lower security requirements are not provided with variation sliders.
