[30] The cord winder 230 has a clock-type spring (not shown) installed within that can automatically wind a cord 295, and the cord 295 receives power through a plug 290 and transmits the current to the contacting electrodes 28Od. [31] By pressing the winding button 232 that releases the clock spring, the chord 295 is wound on the cord winder 230. [32] The floor plate 260 is made from a high heat-resistant material and is formed by being pressed against the inner surface of the case 200, so that its outer surface is pressed along a predetermined height against the inner surface of the case 200. [33] The power connector 352 is formed corresponding to the power contacting portion at the rear of the cordless iron 100 to be inserted therein, and is electrically connected to the protruding electrodes 330. [34] Referring to Fig. 7, another embodiment according to the present invention will be described. In this embodiment, the cord winder 230 and related mechanisms are deleted from the case 200, and the cord 295 is formed at the rear of the stand 350, so that power can be supplied to the power connector 352.
[35] The cord 295 can be neatly stored within the case 200 when the cover is closed, and the manufacturing cost can be reduced by omitting the cord winder 230 and related parts.
[36] An operating method of a cordless iron storage case according to the embodiments of the present invention will be described below.
[37] To use the cordless iron 100, the latch mechanism 250 on the case is unfastened, and the cover 300 is opened to remove the cordless iron 100. Then, the cover 300 is reversed so that the stand 350 is disposed on top, and the upper portion fixing groove 320 is mounted over the upper perimeter of the case 200 so that the protruding electrodes 330 formed on the upper portion fixing groove 320 of the cover 300 insert in the power supply unit 280 of the case 200 and press against the contacting electrodes 28Od to supply power to the power connector 352.
[38] Subsequently, when the cord 295 that is wound around the cord winder 230 formed at the bottom of the case 200 is pulled out to a suitable length for use, the plug 290 is plugged into an electrical socket. When the cordless iron 100 is placed on top of the sliding portion 356 of the stand 350, rotating wheels 356b rotate and slide the cordless iron 100 down so that the power contacting portion formed at the rear thereof inserts in the power connector 352.
[39] After the cordless iron 100 is used, the plug 290 is removed from the electrical socket, and the winding button 232 formed on the side of the case 200 is pressed to wind the cord 295 on the cord winder 230. After the cordless iron 100 with its heated hot plate 100a is placed on the floor plate 260 as is, the cover 300 is reversed so that the lower portion fixing groove 320 rests on the upper perimeter of the case 200, after which the latch mechanisms are fastened and the unit is stored.
[40] In the other embodiment of a cordless iron storage case according to the present invention, after the cordless iron 100 is inserted into the case 200, the cord 295 is stored above the iron and the cover 300 is closed for storage.
[41] While the present invention has been described and illustrated herein with reference to the preferred embodiments thereof, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Thus, it is intended that the present invention covers the modifications and variations of this invention that come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.
