Claims (11)
- A device (1) for cutting longish vegetables (G), preferably root vegetables, in particular carrots, into slices (S) having a decorative design, comprising at least one chain or belt conveying device (6), which moves the vegetables (G) from an input side to a first station (10-12), in which the vegetables are cut on both sides at the ends and reaches to a second station having a shaping cutting die (30), and is cut into slices (5) in a following station comprising one or multi-edged, rotating cutting disks (70), characterized in that the first station encompasses a guide, preferably a prismatic guide (9), in which the vegetables can be cut to length by means of a cutting knife (11) and can then be inserted into a centering tube (20), in which the vegetables are centrically guided by means of a plurality of spring elements (26), which are distributed on the periphery, and from which the vegetables can be pushed out by means of a transport means (40) so as to be pushed through the cutting die (30) and reach to the rotating cutting disk (70) in a guide, preferably guide tube (60).
- The device according to claim 1, characterized in that the centering tube (20) encompasses longitudinal slits (23), which are distributed across the periphery and which run parallel to the longitudinal axis and through which flexible springs (26), which are curved inward (28), project from the outside.
- The device according to claim 2, characterized in that only the curvature (28) of the flexible springs (26) extends through the longitudinal slits (22) into the centering tube (20).
- The device according to claim 3, characterized in that the flexible springs (26) consist of torsion springs, which are bent from wires.
- The device according to claim 1, characterized in that at least one holding ring (25), in which the flexible elements (26) are held, is placed over the centering tube (20).
- The device according to claim 5, characterized in that the holding ring (25) is provided with boreholes, which run parallel to the axial direction, in which a flattened end (29) of the spirally curved torsion spring is held in a twist-proof manner.
- The device according to claim 5, characterized in that the at least one holding ring (25) is provided with a plurality of radially extending grooves (22), in which spirally curved windings (27) of the torsion springs are supported in a clamping manner.
- The device according to claim 2, characterized in that the centering tube (20) is provided with milled longitudinal slits (22), which are in each case offset alternately from both sides by half a pitch.
- The device according to claim 2, characterized in that the centering tube (20) is provided with longitudinal slits (22), which are designed as elongated holes.
- The device according to claim 1, characterized in that the centering tube (20) is held in a pivotable manner and can be pivoted from a horizontal insertion position into a vertical press-out position (20').
