Abstract

The device has a sound tube (3), which is provided for transmission of sound. The sound tube is inserted into a bore (2). An end (5) of the sound tube is melted, so that an outer diameter of the tube`s end is larger than an inner diameter of the bore. The bore is designed in the shape of cone at its end. A casing (4), which is fixed at the sound tube, is arranged at a side of the bore. The casing is manufactured from plastics or rubber. An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening a sound tube in a bore of the hearing device.

Description

The present invention relates to a method of attaching a sound tube in the bore.

For some time, hearing aids have been offered on the market that do not require individual earmoulds. The location of the earmolds here take plastic plugs. However, the acoustic properties of such plugs limit the universal applicability of these types of hearing aids. In order to be able to provide even greater hearing loss, acousticians often stick a conventional earmold or an IDO shell (in the ear) to the sound tube instead of the plug.

However, the hoses used in the hearing aids are exposed to the usual environmental conditions and thus subjected to an increased aging process. As a result, there is the problem that the hoses must be replaced again after some time. However, this is difficult because of the small diameter and the material used in the hoses. The earmolds and IDO shells can be reused, if at all, only by drilling out the glued-in piece of tubing. When reusing, cut off the new piece of tubing of the appropriate length and glue it back into the hole of the earmold or IDO shell.

From the publication DE 20 2005 004 245 U1 is an in-ear hearing aid known. A sound tube is attached with a flange by pulling the tube over the flange. A groove in the flange serves to fix the hose.

Furthermore, the patent describes DE 195 23 991 B4 a hearing aid with a hanger and a sound tube. Again, the hanger at the end at which the sound tube is slipped over, a circumferential groove.

Finally, the document discloses DE 94 06 801 U1 a sound tube, which is held by means of a molded annular bead on the Stirnabsatz a tubular nozzle.

From the publication GB 1 462 899 A1 is an ear piece for a hearing aid known. The ear piece has a pocket that is filled with a liquid paste. Through them passes a tube, at the end of a ring is applied. On the other side, the bag is held by a compression ring on the tube.

Furthermore, in the document US 3 736 929 A a self-shaping earplug described. He has a tube in the middle for pressure equalization. At both ends of the tube solid elements are formed, which prevent slipping of the tube in a chamber of the ear piece. The tube can be heated on both sides to obtain enlarged tails in the form of bulges.

The object of the present invention is therefore to simplify the replacement of a sound tube in a hearing device.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by a method according to claim 1.

A hose assembled according to the invention can thus be removed from the bore by simply cutting it off, without having to unscrew or drill out the bore. In addition, the shell or earmold can be slightly rotated around the tube, so that a fine adjustment of the angle is possible. This possibility of rotation exists because the hose is not glued into the bore. In addition, the insertion is also a new tube into the hole very easy by pulling possible.

A hearing device may comprise a hearing aid shell, in which the bore is located. Alternatively, the hearing device may also have an earmold, in which the bore is arranged. In both cases, the hose can then be easily attached directly to the hearing aid shell or earmold and removed from it.

Alternatively, the hearing device may also have an adapter in which the bore is located. This makes it possible to easily attach an arbitrarily designed adapter to the end of a sound tube. If the bore inner diameter is sufficiently small in relation to the hose outer diameter, the adapter is rotatably mounted on the hose end.

Preferably, the bore is cone-shaped at one end. This form has several advantages. On the one hand, the hose end can also be conically formed by pulling it into this shape. On the other hand, an increased sealing effect can be achieved by the conical surfaces. Furthermore, the cone shape also has the advantage that the entire expanded portion of the hose end can be completely accommodated in the bore.

If the end of the sound tube with the enlarged outer diameter is located on one side of the bore, a sleeve fixed to the sound tube can be arranged on the other side of the bore. This sleeve is used so that the sound tube can not slip from this side into the hole. Conveniently, the sleeve is made of plastic or rubber. In the case of rubber or a rubbery plastic, the sleeve can be frictionally secured to the hose. However, if the sleeve is made of a harder plastic or other hard material, so it can be glued to the sound tube. Dismantling of the hose can be done simply by cutting the hose between the sleeve and the bore.

The present invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, which shows a section through a component of a hearing device in which a sound tube is fixed according to the invention.

The embodiment described in more detail below represents a preferred embodiment of the present invention.

An earmold 1 is shown schematically in FIG. The symbolically represented earmold 1 may also be an IDO shell for an in-the-ear hearing device or an adapter which is inserted into an earmold or into a hearing device shell. In the earmold 1 is a hole 2. This bore 2 encloses a tube 3 introduced into it just under. This means that the inner diameter of the bore 2 is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the tube 3.

The tube 3 is used to transmit the sound from the hearing aid in the ear canal and is made relatively thin for optical reasons. Typically, it has an outer diameter of less than 2.5 mm.

The thin tube 3 is to be secured on both sides of the earmold 1 so that it can not slip out of the hole in either direction. For this reason, a rubber or plastic sleeve 4 is freely slidably mounted on the hose. During assembly, the hose is first cut to the correct length and then pushed with the free end through the hole 2.

By heating the free end of the plastic softens and due to the production history (eg Extruding) or due to the surface tension, the heated hose end assumes a spherical shape or widened its overall diameter. The extended end of the hose 5 can not be pulled through the hole 2 after cooling.

A particularly advantageous embodiment of the bore 2 is that it is funnel-shaped or cone-shaped at the end at which the tube 3 is widened. As a result, there is the possibility that the hose with the heated, expanded hose end 5 can be pulled back into the conical region 6 of the bore 2, where it is finally allowed to cool. As a result, the widened end 5 of the tube 2 also assumes a conical shape, so that an increased mechanical strength and an improved seal between the tube and the bore can be achieved. After pulling in and fixing the hose 2 on the side with the extended end of the hose, the hose 3 is now also fastened on the opposite side of the bore 2 with the aid of the sleeve 4. This is done by moving the sleeve 4 to the earmold 1 and by possibly sticking, if the frictional forces between the tube 3 and sleeve 4 are not sufficient for this purpose. Thus, the tube 3 is secured in the bore 2 against displacement in both directions.

For the removal of the tube 3 from the bore 2, the sleeve 4 is pulled away from the earmold 1, so that the widened end 5 of the tube 3 can be pushed out of the bore 2 and cut off. Then the hose 3 can easily pull out of the hole 2.

If the sleeve 4 is glued to the tube 3, it is possible to sever the tube 3 between the sleeve 4 and the earmold 1 with a knife. The remaining in the bore piece of the tube 3 can then be ejected with a pin.
