Abstract

The toy is displaceable in one or more directions by means of commands of radio-electric orders coming from a wireless control device (1, 5) which includes a radio-control module (4) with antenna (3) and general on/off switch (2). Said orders are activated by the user by means of a position sensor module (6) connected to the said radio-control module (4), in such a way that when the actual control device (1, 5) is moved in space the displacement of the toy is determined and controlled, according to the movements of the device (1, 5).

Description

    OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
  • As stated in the title of this specification, the present invention refers to a control device for radio-control toys whose purpose consists of providing a device whose displacement in space made by the user determines the movements of the corresponding toy, in such a way that it is not necessary to use knobs or push-buttons on order to control the toy. This avoids breakdowns and deterioration with regard to those push-buttons and also the handling and control of the toy is made more comfortable. To achieve this, the control device of the invention incorporates position sensors connected to the corresponding radio-control module of the remote control device.
  • PRIOR ART OF THE INVENTION
  • Control devices for radio-control toys are known in which the toy is displaceable by means of commands of radio-electric orders coming from a wireless control device which includes a radio-control module with antenna and with a general on/off switch. In these conventional control devices there exist push-buttons or knobs by which the order is given to the toy to displace forwards, backwards, right or left, or other orders for acting on various mechanisms of the toy. These conventional wireless control devices present drawbacks due to the fact that they deteriorate very easily owing to the large number of pulsations they receive from the user.
  • We do not know of any wireless control device in the current state of the art for radio-control toys whose displacement controls the displacement of the corresponding toy.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • In order to achieve the objectives and avoid the drawbacks stated in the above paragraphs, the invention consists of a control device for radio-control toys in which the toy is displaced in one or more directions by means of commands of radio-electric orders coming from a wireless control device which includes a radio-control module with antenna and general on/off switch.
  • As a novelty, according to the invention, said orders are activated by the user by means of a position sensor module connected to the said radio-control module, in such a way that when the actual control device is moved in space the displacement of the toy is determined and controlled, according to the movements of the device.
  • According to the preferred embodiment, the movements of the control device which determine those of the toy are coherent with the latter movements, in such a way that the movement of the device forwards, backwards, left and right respectively determines the movement of the toy forwards, backwards, left and right.
  • In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the said position sensor module consists of ball sensors.
  • The said wireless control device can have the form of a grip with a conventional casing, with provision having also been made for an embodiment in which the control device presents the form of a glove which the user can put on one of his or her hands, thereby granting the user the sensation that the movement of his or her hand in space directly commands the toy.
  • With the structure that has been described, the control device for radio-control toys of this invention presents advantages related to the fact that the corresponding wireless control device does not require knobs or push-buttons for commanding the displacement orders for the corresponding toy, which avoids deteriorations and faults in those push-buttons. It furthermore provides the advantage that it grants a novel sensation of mastery over the toy since the latter moves with the simple displacement of the corresponding wireless control device in space. Other advantages of the inventive control device are greater ease of assembly since the small pieces making up the conventional push-buttons or knobs are not required, and a greater precision in the movements since the possibility no longer exists of the external push-buttons being stuck given that the device is lacking in them. Also, the inventive control device is very easy and intuitive to handle since it does not require the attention to be focused on the device in order to send the signals.
  • Below, in order to facilitate a better understanding of this specification and forming an integral part thereof, a series of figures is attached in which, by way of illustration only and not limiting, the inventive object has been represented.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
    • Figure 1.- Represents a functional block diagram of a control device for radio-control toys in accordance with the present invention.
    • Figure 2.- Represents a perspective view of a control device like that of figure 1 above, showing its external appearance according to a first functional embodiment of the invention.
    • Figure 3.- Represents a perspective view of a control device like that of figure 1 above, showing its external appearance according to a second functional embodiment of the invention.
DESCRIPTION OF ONE OR SEVERAL EXAMPLES OF EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
  • Given below is a description of two examples of the invention making reference to the numbering adopted in the figures.
  • So, in both embodiments, the control device 1 or 5 has a general on/off switch 2 and an antenna 3 for radio-electric communication with the corresponding toy, the two embodiments being differentiated solely in terms of their external appearance, such that the first embodiment, shown in figure 2, presents a control device 1 in the form of a grip with a conventional casing, while the second embodiment, shown in figure 3, presents a control device 5 in the form of a glove so that the user can wear it on one of his or her hands.
  • Both embodiments use the same functional block diagram, shown in figure 1, which is based on a radio-control module 4 which connects with the general switch 2, with the antenna 3 and with the position sensor module 6, as represented in figure 1.
  • In these examples of the invention the position sensor module 6 consists of ball sensors, though embodiments with other types of sensors are not discarded.
  • With this structure, when the control device 1 or 5 is moved in one direction or another in space, the position sensor module 6 picks up the movement and causes the radio-control module 4 to send the corresponding orders to the radio-controlled toy. So, depending on the movement which the user exerts on the control device, the latter will give one order or another to the toy, in such a way that if the device is moved forwards the toy moves forward, if the device is moved back the toy moves back, if the device is moved to the right the toy moves to the right and if the device is moved to the left the toy moves to the left. The corresponding toy is thus moved in a very simple and intuitive way. Nevertheless, in other embodiments other orders for actuation would be able to be made on the toy or its mechanisms, according to the movements of the device.
