Claims (12)
- A cantilever parasol, having a mast (2) on which an arm (10) is guided axially retractably and extendably and such that it may pivot about its axis, this arm (10) carrying a parasol (12) at one end and being mounted at the other end such that it may rotate in a bearing (14), to which a carrier element (16) that is connected in articulated manner to the mast (2) is articulated, there furthermore being on the bearing (14) a locking device (24) for locking the pivot position of the arm (10), characterized in that the locking device (24) has a control rod (26) that lies such that it forms an extension to the arm (10), that may be pivoted in relation to the carrier element (16) about an axis transverse to the axis of the arm, and that may on the one hand be latched to the carrier element (16) and may on the other hand, in the unlatched condition, be pivoted about the axis of the arm (10) and is detachably coupled to the arm by means of a coupling device (30) at selectable angles of rotation in relation to the arm (10).
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the bearing (14) for the end of the arm (10) is arranged in a housing (52) on which on the one hand the carrier element (16) is articulated and on the other hand a housing part (84) that carries the control rod (26) is mounted such that it may pivot about the axis of the arm (10), and in which the coupling device (30) is arranged.
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the coupling device (30) has a first coupling part (80), which is arranged at the end of the arm (10), non-rotatably but slidably in the direction of the axis of the arm (10), and which is pretensioned by means of a spring (66) toward a second coupling part (82) that is connected non-rotatably to the control rod (26), there being associated with the first coupling part (80) a pressure piece (88) that is actuable for the purpose of releasing the coupling device (30) by means of a cam part (86) on the control rod (26) when the latter is pivoted out into an uncoupling region.
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in claim 3, characterized in that the uncoupling region of the control rod (26) lies between the position in which the control rod (26) is locked on the carrier element (16) and the extended position, which runs in the axial direction of the arm (10).
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the control rod (26) has, on either side of the cam part (86), support faces (92, 94) that cooperate with the pressure piece (88), in order to fix the control rod (26) in the positions on either side of the cam part (86) temporarily.
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the coupling device (30) takes the form of a form-fitting coupling device, preferably a toothed coupling.
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the arm (10) has stops (76, 78) that limit the pivot angle.
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the arm (10) and the control rod (26) are constructed to be hollow for the purpose of guiding a tensor member (40) for opening and closing the parasol (12).
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in claim 8, characterized in that a cable winder (46) for the tensor member (40) is arranged at the free end of the control rod (26).
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the control rod (26) has a clip (50) for locking the control rod to the carrier element (16).
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that the arm (10) may be latched in its extended position by means of a latch (32) that is located in the arm and can be released by means of a release member (36) that is guided through the interior of the mast.
- The cantilever parasol as claimed in one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that it may be folded together and shortened by means of the telescopically collapsible arm in a manner suitable for transportation to give a compact, slender package.
